Went there today with high expectations after seeing it all over social media. Unfortunately the experience was one to forget.
Firstly, we booked a table for 6.30pm (on a Sunday). We saw on their social media page on the day they have a private event and would be open from 6.30pm. When we arrived, we noticed the guests from the private event (wedding) were lingering around outside the restaurant. We went inside and were told we will be taken to our table when ready. The decor team from the event were in the process of removing items from the restaurant whilst we waited by the bar. We were shown to our table after waiting 15 mins. It would have been better if the restaurent gave themselves extra time to clear out before taking customer bookings instead of rushing whilst we waited.
Secondly, when we got to our table, we noticed one of the plates was dirty and the table was very unstable (due to the uneven floor). The table to our right also also wobbly and a waiter was trying to shove napkins (from the customer's table) to make it even. Eventually when science defeated the waiter, the customers asked to be moved to another table. We also raised to the waiter about our table, the waiter again used napkins to stabilise the table. You would think the restaurant would have solved this issue as it could not have been the first time.
Thirdly, the food. We ordered a lychee monjtor and a assamenta mojito. For starters, we ordered crispy calamari and spring rolls. The spring rolls were nice, the calamari was very basic and chewy which came with aioli sauce but no lemon. The drinks were your typical mojito (lots of ice and very little liquid) but what was off putting was the amount of syrup in them. It was very sweet and sickening. A waitress came to clear our starters and we told them them about the drinks and asked if they could be changed with less sweetness. The waitress mumble something under her breath and left with the plates. Few minutes later a guy in a suit (assuming the manager, wearing a suit, bald south Asian guy) came and bluntly asked "what's wrong?" Told him about the drinks and he said he will change them. The drinks eventually came after we were halfway through our mains, the drinks tasted almost as same as the previous ones.
For main, we got the Australian Grain Ged Ribeye (medium), Beef Short Ribs, mushroom sauce, French fries, truffle parmasen fries, grilled Broccoli. The ribeye was cooked nicely, although we chose the most expensive one out of the 3 - over premium grass feed and black angus (not including the Wagyu here) it tasted no different to any other normal cuts. The mushroom sauce was nice, the brocoli was really good and crispy. The short ribs came with fried rice which was good but the short ribs themselves were not great. I had several pieces in the meal, one was soft and the others were very chewy. Finally the fries, they were very poor quality and thin and got cold within minutes. They were like the cheap supermarket fries, cooked in an air fryer with all the juice taken out of them. Having paid almost £13 on 2 portion of chips, you expect a lot better in a restaurent like this.
The overall experience has left us with a bad taste in our mouth and would we return here after the experienceand having spent £157? Most...
Read moreNestled in the heart of London, Meet Bros Steakhouse (by Me'nate x Jibby&co) is a hidden gem that takes you on a culinary journey through time. As you descend into the modern-designed basement, inspired by ancient medieval aesthetics, you are immediately captivated by the ambience.
The feast began with the Meet Bros Spring Rolls, featuring succulent BBQ Angus Beef, sharp Cheddar Cheese, and tangy Pickled Onion. The combination was a tantalizing explosion of flavours that left us craving more. Each bite was a delightful dance on our taste buds.
Next up, the Crispy Calamari arrived, perfectly deep-fried and coated with a tantalizing spiced crust. Paired with the fiery Chilli Aioli, it was a match made in seafood heaven. The crispy exterior gave way to tender calamari that left us longing for another plate.
The BBQ Beef Nachos followed, loaded with Cheesy Sauce, Jalapeño, Tomato, Onions, and Guacamole. Each chip held a symphony of textures and flavours, making it impossible to resist devouring the entire platter. It was a fiesta in our mouths!
For mains, the Thai Style Beef took centre stage. A juicy Sirloin Steak accompanied by Buttered Lettuce, Fresh Asian Herbs, Cucumber, Tomato, Fried Shallots, and a zingy Chilli Lime Dressing created an explosion of vibrant flavours. The tender steak paired perfectly with the fresh, crunchy vegetables, creating harmony on the palate.
However, the standout dish that stole our hearts was the Mushrooms Truffle Spaghetti. A medley of Portobello and Shimeji Mushrooms nestled in a creamy sauce, enhanced by Grated Parmesan and Truffle Oil. Each forkful transported us to gastronomic bliss, and we couldn't help but savour every bite.
To satisfy our seafood cravings, we indulged in the Prawn Aglio Olio. The al dente spaghetti tossed with Chilli, Garlic, Spring Onion, and Chilli Sambal was a spicy delight. The succulent prawns added a burst of sweetness, balancing the heat and creating a memorable dish.
The Black Angus Steak, seasoned with the special Meet Bros marination or Sea Salt and Cracked Black Pepper, was a carnivorous delight. Cooked to perfection, each bite was tender and flavorful. And when paired with the divine Thai danok sauce, it elevated the dining experience to new heights.
To end on a sweet note, we savoured the Chocolate Fondant with its rich, gooey centre accompanied by Raspberry Coulis and creamy Vanilla Bean Ice Cream. The Leche Flan, a sweet and creamy custard pudding drizzled with golden Caramel Sauce, melted in our mouths.
We finished our evening with Teh tarik. A must try if you haven’t had one before.
The service was exceptional, with a special shoutout to Manu, the attentive staff, the talented head chef Ismail and last but not least Yusri, who ensured our experience was unforgettable.
In conclusion, Meet Bros Steakhouse is a must-visit destination for food enthusiasts seeking a unique culinary adventure. From the medieval-inspired ambience to the remarkable dishes and refreshing mocktails, it is a treasure trove of flavours that will leave you yearning for more. Prepare to be transported through time and indulge in an extraordinary...
Read moreI had dinner at Meet Bros tonight, and while there were some fantastic elements, a few quirks kept it from being a five-star experience.
First Impressions: The moment you step in, you know you're in for a high-end experience. The interior design is sleek and classy. The bathrooms were spotless, which is always a win, and the overall ambiance? Perfect. Ideal lighting and just enough room between tables to feel private yet cozy.
The Service and Serious Allergy Concern: The staff was accommodating, adjusting our seating and handling our initial requests. But here’s where the experience took a nosedive. My sister-in-law has allergies and took the time to share them with the staff, who even provided her with a special allergy menu. She carefully chose a dish that seemed safe, only for it to arrive completely covered in her allergen. This was beyond careless—it could have killed her. She didn’t have her EpiPen with her, and we immediately flagged the issue to the manager. They did replace the dish, but that was a huge oversight. Meet Bros. really needs to review its allergy protocol if they’re going to cater to guests safely. Mistakes like this are not just inconvenient; they’re dangerous.
The Food: The meat quality was fantastic and the presentation? Instagram-ready. But the portion sizes were modest, especially considering the hefty price tag. And here’s where it gets tricky: the cost isn’t just listed on the menu. It’s based on the weight of each steak cut, which is only confirmed after ordering. To make matters worse, the steaks come out without any indication of who ordered which weight. So, you could easily end up paying for a bigger, more expensive steak that you didn’t actually order. It’s like playing steak roulette, and not in a fun way. Buyer beware—your wallet may leave lighter than your appetite!
The truffle chips were a bit of a disaster. Overloaded with pepper, they completely stole the spotlight (in a bad way). I couldn’t taste much else, and let’s be real—when you’re there for the steak, you don’t want the chips to overpower everything.
The Service: This is where things got a little quirky. The staff was friendly and very accommodating to our needs as a group, adjusting our table and helping with all kinds of requests. But when we asked for extra glasses and cutlery… well, it was like waiting for a solar eclipse. After a good wait, they never actually arrived, and we ended up awkwardly sharing among ourselves. Not the biggest deal, but for the price we were paying, I expected a bit more attentiveness.
And a quick note: they serve Coca-Cola, which I, like many others who have humanity, will have ethical concerns with as its genocide juice. @MeetBros: Please boycott Coca Cola and other pro-Israel products. There’s plenty of alternatives.
Final Thoughts: Meet Bros. is a beautiful place with high-quality food, but the experience doesn’t quite live up to the luxury price tag. If they worked on the service speed and seasoning (less pepper, please!), this could be a truly exceptional spot. I’d recommend it for a special occasion—but maybe only once in a while, unless you’ve got...
