1st experience in a Persian restaurant! I've visited Diba on a Sunday afternoon with some friends. We were greeted by the 2 lovely ladies, Cynthia and Narges and they quickly prepared a larger table suitable for our group. The service was fast, despite the fact that the restaurant was at approx 90% capacity on our arrival 👍.
We shared some garlic bread (naan), prepared on spot. Lots of garlic, we loved that, however too much oil for our taste.
We all had different dishes and we all enjoyed it. I've tried a specific strew with rice. Cynthia mentioned that is sour, as it is made from pomegranate sauce. The taste was nice, interesting, lots of flavours. The downside of it was that either the rice or the stew had some slightly harder bits. I gave the feedback to Cynthia, as in future someone might be more picky than me.
My husband is a fan of meat and Cynthia recommended the lamb shack. He loved the way the meat was cooked. I'm not a fan of lamb, so I tried his special rice, made with dill and some veggies. I could eat it all. 😄
Overall, I enjoyed it. My frieds did too. The size of the meals are large enough, and they have a big variety of dishes to choose from. Prices are OK, I would say: ££.
At the end, they offered us baklava. The staff also stayed for a quick chat, as was not too busy when we left.
Overall, a good experience. If you are hungry and in that area, great choice for lunch or dinner. They also have a patio to enjoy the...
Read moreMy husband and I live in the area and often drive past the restaurant. I checked the website and liked the look of the food and the good reviews so we decided to I booked a table. On arrival 5 minutes before our booking we were left standing outside for 10 minutes despite the fact that we could see empty tables both inside and out. We were finally seated in the front corner table by the window and after sitting unattended while others were served and tables were cleaned we had to call the server (who was very nice) to get our drinks and order our food. At this point we had been there for 20 minutes. We waited a further 15 mins received a basket of bread and some dips but nothing else. It was very busy so we didn't think too much of it. But after an hour of waiting we hadn't even got a starter. This was made worse by the fact that we noticed that the family of 5 that had arrived 30 minutes after us and 2 ladies who arrived just after us had been brought their starters and then main course before we had even had a starter. After an hour of waiting we felt ignored and spoke to one of the servers who apologised and offered us a free dessert but we left the restaurant after a further 10 minutes when the family next to us paid their bill and we still hadn't had a starter! I am so disappointed as I was really looking forward to the experience. The one star is because I can't give 0. Shocking...
Read moreUnfortunately, I have a very bad expert in this restaurant( Diba at Richmond). Good is very nice but management and service is very poor. I have booked the table for 12 people for my mum’s birthday at 6:00. When I have booked the table nobody mentioned that the time will be for 2 hours. Around 6:30 they served the appetiser without bread!!!! Bread served 10-15 minutes after serving appetiser and either burnt or not cooked nicely!!Waitress unable to serve the drink and give us cutlery and service on time. Around 7:15 after waiting so long for serviette and drink they served the food . Quickly they removed everything from in-front of us and they announced us with a very rude waitress that we have to leave as the next group are waiting for their table. 1)while we booked the table nothing mentioned about the time, and if we knew that we didn’t accept. 2) we left the restaurant without celebrating for my mum’s birthday and dessert. 3) Because of bad service some of us we had serviette and some they didn’t while they served food and we were waiting for 10 minutes as they didn’t have enough serviette. Therefore; some of us had a cold dinner. It was a very bad experience, not recommend this restaurant as when you go out for food you want to be cared properly and nicely , otherwise; everyone can have food at home. Not going back...
