I've been coming to Mousetrap with my family since 2009.
Mousetrap has been the backdrop to so many changes for me. I've come here to retreat, grieve, plan my future, celebrate and get to know new family members. I've counted the minutes till I've got there, and I've struggled to make myself leave. I've planned months in advance and run away with a few days' notice.
We all want a better-home-from-home in our holiday accommodation and Mousetrap is exactly that. I can remember every single 'homecoming'; even thinking about the crunch of gravel as I pull up onto the drive makes me feel warm and fuzzy. And as I walk through the door, I leave behind the cares of the world. I become the best possible me.
The great thing about Mousetrap - aside from the gloriousness of the North Norfolk coast right outside - is that it makes life easy. Everything you could possibly need is there: tastefully, stylishly and thoughtfully provided.
I stay in homes and AirBnBs all over the world - I'm definitely not a hotel person. I always look for something truly special but nothing is ever as special as Mousetrap - the rarest of rare finds. I hope I can...
Read moreMy family and I spent a fantastic weekend at the Mousetrap earlier in October. The house itself is just a short 5 minute walk from the seafront, along one of the beautiful old streets of Wells. The Mousetrap has everything you'll need for a holiday, whether you use it as a base to spend the day on the beach or as a cosy home-from-home where you can cook a meal for the family and then spend the night in front of the fire. The beds were very comfy and having two bathrooms was very useful when we came back from a day on the sand, intending to head out for dinner on a quick turnaround. The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into creating a good guest experience, from the lovely decor and original artwork on the walls to a virtual library of good ideas for places to eat and visit. We will definitely go back as...
Read moreStayed here while competing in the North Norfolk Triathlon. Really well set up for a weekend of activity - solid bike racks at the front, outdoor space for drying wetsuits and the owner was kind enough to arrange some additional bike locks if needed- we didn't. Wells is a very safe place to stay! Really close to the Quay for the event and for training swims - it's so well located for training as well as competing. Owner apparently has competed as well so is very knowledgeable about good run routes, cycle routes etc. Will definitely be staying...
