We couldn’t be happier with the cakes from Arthur Howells Bakery — they were absolutely incredible! From the very first conversation, everything was so easy and straightforward. The team was friendly, responsive, and completely understood what we were looking for. On the day, the cakes not only looked beautiful but tasted even better — truly the best cakes we’ve ever had! Our guests were raving about them, and there wasn’t a single slice left by the end of the evening. Every cake was spot on, and you could really tell the care and craftsmanship that went into each one.

Arthur Howells Bakery made the whole process feel effortless and enjoyable. They were a dream to deal with and delivered above and beyond our expectations. Their own website states they sell a "range of fresh cream cakes" and references merangues with "fresh cream".

We went into the bakery and spoke to a slightly moody staff member who had just stood there with arms folded gruffly. When we asked if they had any fresh cream cakes a look of incredulity came over the woman's face and she curtly said they had no fresh cream cakes.

The dead flies in the cake cabinets weren't that enticing either.

Great hot breakfast baps!

Wanted some take out breakfast baps. Staying in Wells and it was only a very short walk. Glad we tried them. Walked straight in as just opened and it's winter time, week between Christmas and new year. Lovely service, great bacon and sausage baps, and very reasonably priced!

Would definitely recommend and return.
