What a disappointment. There is a sign outside maintaining this place serves the best tasting sausage roll. Well, there were none when I visited. Only two sausage and chilli ones and I don’t like chilli especially first thing in the morning. So, I opted for a vege version which contained sweet potato. I asked for it to be heated up. When it arrived I was urged to take care as it would be hot. Well it was hot at the ends but lukewarm in the middle. The pastry was hard. I wonder how long they had been sitting there waiting for someone to choose them. Certainly not the best I’ve had. I was glad I didn’t pick a meat version as it would have been most unpleasant not fully heated through. I had it with a decaf latte which was OK but served in a plastic cup even though I was sitting inside. The worst bit of my experience was the price. For these two items….. £7.80. The lads serving were pleasant enough when I was at the counter but then embarked on a conversation about girls. I couldn’t be bothered to say anything about the roll. This is a very nice new coffee shop with excellent decor (in the "wood floor and potted cactus" style) and a large outdoor space. The beans are clearly from a decent modern roaster and the coffee was well made. When I visited it had been open for five weeks. The coffee-making is not perhaps as tightly engineered as it might be: they were wasting about a quarter of the ground coffee between the grinder and the portafilter, the espresso art is not the slickest you've ever seen, and one serving I had was slightly too hot, but let's not be picky, this is the new crown holder in Wells (as their WiFi password claims - bestcoffeeintown). Can’t fault it all really. The coffee was absolutely spot on 👌🏻 You have to try the sausage rolls, they’re so so good!! Possibly the best I’ve ever had. I tried the pork and apple and also the pork and chilli, but I think the pork and apple just pipped it for me. Nicely laid out inside the place and also the outside area for seating is perfect too. We also popped to the shop next door and that was nice too. Bought a little pocket knife for my key rings. The only minor complaint I could have was that the young lad serving the barista coffee was a tad cold to customers and not smiling much, but he was fine....
