RUN....Don't walk to any other hotel. Sleep in your car if you have to. Do not stay at this hotel under any circumstances. These people are straight up THIEVES. I have never experienced what I went through at the Acworth Best Western in my life. As both an avid traveler and loyal Best Western Diamond member I have a lot to compare them to. But nothing even comes close to what these despicable people did to my daughter and I. *THIEVES When I entered the lobby, there were countless signs posted informing you of their rules. I felt more like I had entered a prison than a vacation destination. *THIEVES They asked if I had a pet, what type and the size. A fifteen dollar fee was charged, which I was fine with . *THIEVES Then they then ran my credit card through and put a 75 dollar incidental fee on it. They have no restaurant so they informed me that people have stripped their hotel bare. Well they certainly would not have had that problem with us. *THIEVES There were vagrants walking through their parking lot at all hours which we found rather intimidating when it came to dog walking time. *THIEVES The room was very small and had a musty odor. Being exhausted, I figured we could deal with it for one night. *THIEVES The breakfast was atrocious. *THIEVES When I checked out, I was told that they had charged me fifteen dollars for each dog. I did have two dogs but I had never been asked. That meant these creepy people were watching us. I was told the 75 dollars would just fall off, I was also told that they did not care what I was told at check in they were not going to do anything to make things right. *THIEVES Something told me that these were very unscrupulous people. I told my daughter to film the room. I have always prided myself in the way I leave hotel rooms. I roll the towels and pick up every kibble. I just had an uneasy feeling this time and thank heavens I did. THIEVES The following day I was informed by my charge card company, that they had charged me 32 dollars for two dirty top sheets. In addition, the hotel clerk told me that some disgusting bar of hairy soap was left on the bed. I assume to embarrass me? Besides leaving the room spotless, we bring our own blankets. THIEVES I have our spotless room documented. This was a complete setup as I have learned after reading countless reviews of this 'hotel from hell.' They do it all the time. I am only grateful for the fact that we were not infected by their bedbugs as so many others have been. *THIEVES Please read reviews before you choose to stay at a hotel. I will post this on every social media forum I can. We are military affiliated and there are several bases in the area. I will be sure they are all warned about this horrendous hotel. THIEVES As for the owner of this hotel who chooses to do business in this nefarious...
Read moreDO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL VIA Priceline, Expedia, Travelocity, or anything that says to save you money that isnât from best western site directly Room is decently nice/ clean for a positive Day 1. Followed at night, in parking lot, by random man. (Train/bus station right around the back), he kept whispering and stayed in the dark part of the parking lot like this wasnât his first rodeo. I didnât want him to see which room i was in so i fast walked to my car, as he hid in the dark/bush. Sat in car for sec then drove around the McDonaldâs next door and see him actively running to the station, he then sits, starts to wipe off sweat and catch his breath. I went right back to hotel, parked and rushed to room before he could come back and see. Booked room for clinicals, which got changed to a different city an hour away and later dates upon arrival. 1 staff member actively worked day/night and was polite. Day 2. Manager winces at 3rd party bookings because they require phone calls and actual work. Also due to âsaver fareâ rates that are typically more expensive than booking with best western itself, after the 3rd partyâs fees are applied. Itâs a pick and choose whom to work with situation, based on how difficult it may be to figure out or if theyâre simply up to it. The 1 effective staff member stated the manager usually approves 3rd party amends based on circumstances. Manager was standing at the desk as i attempted to exchange about the situation at hand, only to be cut off and talked to for a solid 30 seconds. Stating she heard, she couldnât switch my hotel, canât change booking dates, nor allow a refund for next 3 days of my stay. Sealed w/ a passive aggressive smile as if i was interrupting her personal phone call, then turned to chat with a male staff member that was standing behind her. Safety/convenience is always priority, i ended up checking out early with no resolution on day 2, with a total of 5...
Read moreWhen I arrived, there was a young man behind the counter; he was very polite and welcoming. He said his dad owned the place. He seemed proud. The hotel/motel is a walk-up door to your room with parking lot level and second level. The room was quiet. It appears that the area is convenient right off of I-75, and there are stores like Publix and McDonald's within walking distance; actually, McDonald's is right next to the hotel. The continental breakfast was basic, as most are; my son enjoyed making his waffles. The breakfast was from 6 a.m. to 9 a.m., so if you are an early riser or your child is playing sports near by, they can grab some breakfast. The hotel attracts some traveling teams, most likely playing tournaments near by. The pool was clean and most of the time quiet. If you like the pool, it's good enough! The staff/cleaning ladies were very polite and of help when you asked for toiletries and new bedding or towels, etc. They have laundry on site if you need to do your laundry. There's this real cute coffee house within 10 minutes, or so-called lazy Labrador, very nice and great coffee and muffins, croissants, and small items. The grounds seem to be safe. I did see the owner doing his walk around the property. I guess to check if all is well. Maybe at night they can have someone doing a safety check around the grounds as well. Very convenient to everything. Atlanta downtown is not far at all; the aquarium there is very nice, and there are tons of restaurants. There is this cute little town called Marietta not far with great restaurants and a walkable town. When I checked out, I advised the lady at the counter the door lock was coming off the hinge. I am sure they took care of it. The only thing I do not like are rugs in rooms, and that is any hotel. Flooring is much better and cleaner. Simply wash with water and vinegar to sanitize and your good. All the best to this hotel...
