I came in for a first time try to this location. I made a To go order and as I walked in there were 3 workers just standing at the front counter talking. I asked to make a To go order and I was told to go to the bar to make my order but in a way like I didn't matter to them. To me it's a bad first impression of a restaurant when you walk in an your not getted just looked at and when you ask to make a to go order your told to go to the bar. The lady at the bar was very nice and took my order an greeted me nicely so that was a plus but the 3 at the door showed right off the bat how the service was.
I ordered 3 meals for me and my family to try...
First was a Supreme nachos for my 2 small kids, it was a decent size with a good amount of cheese in it and was a little sossy when I got home but that's to be expected when you get To go, there was a good amount of chicken in it but it said it came with ground beef but didn't see any. It came with lettuce/pico/sour cream/refried beans and we though it was pretty good.
Second was a combo number 3 for my wife which came with 2 enchiladas - 1 chicken 1 beef w/rice an bean and she though it was good nothing to jump at but decent.
Third was a verda enchiladas with rice and that was mine. The enchiladas were made with corn tortillas and were dry. They put Verde sauce on the enchiladas but not that much so by the time I got home the enchiladas were dry but I will say there was alot of shredded chicken in them so that was a plus. All in all the Verde enchiladas were good just only time I wished was more sauce over them and it would have been great. Corn tortillas are a dryer tortilla so if sauce it added they will absorb the liquid.
Also there salsa is pretty good and worth getting, the chips tho were odd tasting and were not really that good. So if you get a to go order and get the large Salas which is 3.75 an that's not to bad for a large salsa go to Publix next door and get some chip.
But all in all with the food it was a decent. The service at the front was lacking but the bar lady made up for it. The place was clean looking and there was ample parking.
The food was decent enough but not worth it unless there was nothing else that peaked...
Read moreMy wife and placed a pick-up order this past sunday 6/21/2020 at night time. The issues this restaurant gave us that night were the following:
2)The food we ordered had mixed results when it came to quality, concistency and presentation for example.. A.-my wife's order was shrimp nachos..her food had excessive oil and few cheese on top..tortilla chips were zoggy due to oil saturation; B.-i ordered chicken and beef cheese nachos..my food had the right amount of cheese, plus the cheese my wife's food that was missing...my chips were not as zoggy as my wife's nachos but were dried and saturated, tasted lightly overfried or so, took a chip near our lamp & it was halfway translucent...chicken was ok, needed a little extra flavor/seasoning..beef was on the dried side, tasted like dried crunchy taco meat crying for more seasoning because it was lacking flavor. Not sure what is the issue with their business hours, so i can just reccomend you to call ahead and find out before you place an order at this location.. but food quality and concistency must remain there...
Read moreI’ve visited La Bamba on many occasions and always had a pleasant experience, making this my “favorite Mexican place.” When I invited some friends to experience it with me, I expected to have a wonderful evening with the delicious food and friendly service I was accustomed to. One of my friends, however, asked for “no shrimp” in his meal. They brought out his fajitas with shrimp and he politely asked they remake the meal because of an allergy to shellfish. The took the dish back and about five minutes later brought out another dish with no shrimp. About 10 minutes into our meal, my friends had difficulty breathing and his mouth and chest were burning up. That’s right. Instead of remaking the dish, they simply picked the shrimp out of the meal and re-served it.
I am not typically the type of person to complain, but when a restaurant fails to uphold the very basic standards of food safety, I am unhappy. The fact is, every time you go to a restaurant, you literally place your life in their hands. If La Bamba does not understand the importance of adhering to food allergy requests, which is akin to putting poison on someone’s plate, then I must wonder what other basic food safety issues they overlook. Have they ever heard of cross-contamination? I don’t know. The point is, now I would have to wonder every time I walked in the door, which I most definitely will never do again. After all, I value my health. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Not only did they needlessly and knowingly endanger my friend’s health, we never saw a manager and nothing was ever done to show any remorse or regret or even offer a remedy for the situation. Just a quick, “I’m sorry. I’ll tell the cook… here is your check.”
If you enjoy gambling with your health, eat here at your own risk. As for this former regular…...
