Rooms were pretty good. We needed handicapped room, and it was good except we really needed a recliner type chair for my husband because he can't lie flat very long. Plenty of room in the room for a recliner but hotel could not (or would not) place a recliner in the room because they are made to be wheelchair accessible and room for a wheelchair must be available. The only rooms with recliners are not handicapped accessible so the only way he could get a recliner was to go to a room not handicapped accessible. I asked if they could take a recliner from one of those rooms for us to use for the week we were staying but they said they could not do that because that would keep that room from being occupied. I don't understand why they don't have extra recliners because if a problem arose with a recliner in one of it's rooms, how do they replace those? Overall, the staff is very nice but not willing to work to accommodate a handicapped request for a better stay. Breakfast was very good, but sausage was a bit salty. Problems with handicapped entrance one night, which made us have to walk a good distance (for someone who is disabled from a stroke) back around to the main entrance. There was a sign on the door, but it couldn't be read until ready to go in the door. In order to get a shorter distance to the entrance, we would have had to get back in the car and drive to the entrance, let my husband out then drive back to the handicapped parking spaces because there were no available spots near the entrance. Getting in and out of the car is just as difficult for my husband as walking, so we chose to walk. To their credit, the hotel did have the entrance repaired the next afternoon, which did surprise me since the note said parts were ordered to repair the problem. This would be a great place to stay if we did not have handicap issues. It was still good, just not great! We have stayed at hotels that have worked with us in meeting our needs and I was just surprised and disappointed La...
Read moreWe came to the UCF area to visit our daughter. Since we are planning to visit the area often, we were looking for an affordable hotel that would be our go to place. Well the only thing I can say about this hotel is that it is terrible.
When we arrived, our air conditioner was broken and the room was extremely hot. The room seemed clean, but the bathroom was very dirty and there was mildew in the shower. We asked to change rooms, but they said they needed to send a maintenance tech to our room first. The tech vacuumed the filter of the AC unit and said it was fixed.
We decided to go to the pool to cool off, but it was filled with leaves and other debris. The water color and clarity looked off as well so we decided not to go in. It really doesn't seem like the pool is maintained that often, which is a huge red flag.
We went back to the room and the it was still very hot. The AC unit was blowing out warm air so we asked to change rooms again. They said there wasn't anything they could do since the tech reported that the air was working. We had enough with this nonsense and decided to check out. We were only refunded for two of the three nights, since we already checked in and used their pool, which we didn't. We were not happy, but couldn't wait to leave.
We ended up booking three nights at the Hampton Inn & Suites down the street and wow what a difference! They even matched the lower rate we were paying at this dump.
Lesson learned: This place may look nice from the outside, but you get what you pay for. I wouldn't stay at this trash hotel even if it was free. Definitely avoid this place and stay at the Hampton Inn instead. We've stayed there several times and it is always great! It is less congested, quieter and there are much better food | coffee options over...
Read moreI will start by saying that due to the bad weather in Miami I wasn't sure that I was going to be able to make it to Orlando last Thursday June 27th. With that being saying means that I did not have a reservation, when I got to the hotel it was almost 11:00 p.m. I tried to make a reservation at the front desk but the rates were higher for what I was looking at online so I went outside and make a reservation online, 2 minutes later I came back inside and the person at the front desk couldn't find my reservation, it was getting closer to midnight and since the room price was not refundable I was going to lose my money. He kept telling me that couldn't find my reservations, I said no problem if I get charged for something that it wasn't even my fault I'm going to dispute with my bank because I'm already here and the fact that you don't find my reservation it's not my fault. Miraculously 2 seconds later the reservation pop up 😉 After that little incident I was able to get to my room. I cannot begin to say how happy I was about making a reservation in this hotel, I really loved everything in this hotel. The room was superb, everything was working as it was supposed to be. The next morning I went down for breakfast and I could not believe my eyes! Everything was PERFECT! If I could give more than five stars to this hotel I would and I will stay in this hotel every time I go to Orlando. I'm a very hard to please person and to top it off, I am a Virgo, extremely...
