Our party had the misfortune of trying to stay at the Travelodge by Wyndham Albuquerque East, and it was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. Safety should be a top priority at any hotel, but this place was completely unsafe. When I arrived, there was active police activity on-site, which is never a good sign. After an exhausting day of travel, I arrived at 10:00 pm only to find out that my room wasn’t even ready. The situation got worse when I noticed four individuals lingering around the premises who seemed to be under the influence. It felt like they were loitering without any concern for guests’ safety. The receptionist was another red flag. She was wearing dark sunglasses late at night, acting suspiciously, which only added to the uneasy vibe of the place. Her demeanor was far from professional and didn’t inspire confidence. To make matters worse, when I was finally assigned to room #223, I was greeted by a heavily tattooed man trying to ā€œcleanā€ the restroom inside. How is this acceptable? This hotel is unsafe, unprofessional, and downright uncomfortable. I would not recommend it to anyone, and frankly, I’m shocked it’s still operating under the Wyndham name. Stay elsewhere if you value your safety and peace of mind.

Let's start with couldn't check in at 3 and told "we won't start until after 5." I check back after 10pm and there still wasn't a room! Come back much later and they MAY have changed the sheets (but they are still stained and have holes. Hair and grime in shower and sink, nasty floors, mirror had so much dust I doubt it was ever cleaned, stains on walls and celing. Window broken on one side, huge gaps and the door that make it sound like it's wide open, no hot water, poor lighting and lights with no way to turn them on, no trash can, no towels or toiletries, bugs all over. You can't close the curtains without blocking the AC. Super shady area with a sign in the lobby that they will not rent to locals. I could go on and on. Photos don't really show just how nasty this place is. If only the area wasn't sold out for the balloon fest or if I even had a tent. I get it's a one star hotel, but at almost $200 after taxes and fees you should have better. I'll never stay at another Travelodge.

The toilet tank lid was missing, the toilet ran all the time (wasting water), walls were dirty, the floor was so dirty my feet turned black after a shower! See wash cloth pic. The upgrades were done poorly with floor boards not to the tub. Dog kibble and trash on the floor when we came in. People were nice, shower floor wasn't slippery are the only 2 good things I can say. Later found out this hotel rents rooms to the homeless paid for by the city! AVOID!!!!

I wish 0 stars was an option for this particular rating, but since it's not, I guess I have to give it at least a 1. I don't even know where to start so I'll just walk you through my whole experience as if you were going through it all right along with me. We arrived at the hotel (it was almost 3 AM but we've arrived at similar times at other hotels and they were nothing like this place) and were greeted by a young man who was friendly but not sure if he was under the influence of anything or it might have been the late hour. I guess I could give him the benefit of the doubt but it took him forever to find our reservation and was just acting a bit strange. And was just quick to say oh can't find your reservation after spelling my name wrong. I had to volunteer that I had my confirmation if that was any help otherwise not sure what would've happened at that point. So just some training on doing all possible to help customers would benefit the staff there. The hotel in general looked as though it was in total disrepair, many rooms empty and some windows boarded up, and since the curtains were missing in many of the rooms we could see that the rooms were a total mess and looked as though they were in the middle of being fixed or deep cleaneing or who knows what the heck. Our room was way in the back area of the hotel and I think we were the only ones in that area of the building, as many of the rooms were empty and or boarded up and curtains missing as described above. Our room 😣😣😣: curtains were broken, carpet was severely stained, TV didn't work, toilet looked old AF and was chipping inside, light switches had pieces missing, there was no trash can, we were happy that the bed looked clean (at least I hope and pray it really was šŸ™šŸ™) The creepiest part was probably the tapping that someone (we think) was doing, it sounded as though someone lightly knocking on the wall downstairs or behind our room. It was creepy AF since it appeared to us that we were the only ones in this general area of the hotel and even if was someone in a nearby room what the hell would someone be doing tapping on a wall at 3 in the morning šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļøšŸ˜£and I almost thought to say eff this let's get the hell outta here especially after I felt a light breeze on my arm as I was putting our baby to sleep 😣😣, (my husband was in the bathrrom so I was alone in the room with her) all this while hearing the strange tapping on the wall. Not sure what that was.😬😬

-Nonetheless, we stayed the night just because again it was 3 in the morning and we had no fight left in us. We were dead tired after a full day of driving and just thought well we will be outta here first thing in the morning anyways and xontinue on our merry way. All in all I don't know if we just got what we paid for since it was only $70 but we've stayed at plenty of inexpensive hotels/motels and none were to the level of awfulness that this place was. Since we are not from the area we're not sure if it's just in a really rough area of Albuquerque and so this place is just a product of that šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø but in the morning when we got out it didn't seem especially rough but again not sure about this. (Although we were awoken at 7 AM by a helicopter hovering especially close to the ground so we assume they were looking for someone šŸ¤·šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø so perhaps that's a sign of what type of people wander the streets of this particular neighborhood) Just again please be warned about this hotel and stay the eff AWAY!!

P.S. if Travelodge is interested in reading this at all we were...

HORRIBLE DISGUSTING EXPERIENCE!!! DO NOT RISK YOURSELF AND WELL BEING!!! We were long term (spent $1,000's), with no one here for us and no one to go to so they were our only resort at the time, and had no issues until the hotel received bad reviews "due to our dogs". We weren't told about it until we walked into the lobby to pay for another week. No warnings, no communication whatsoever, just put on the spot. They never barked, were always on their leash when taken out (unlike any other dogs that stayed), and my son and I spent HOURS cleaning not just our dog's messes, but everyone else's along with any debris and trash around the hotel. Didn't matter. We were roomed upstairs, above the most used side of the hotel and overcharged US because the people underneath didn't like hearing our dogs jump on and off the beds. So they added weekly fees on top of move us to a different, gross room filled with burn holes and a funk I can't describe and filthy bedding. One housekeeper with an attitude. Management from hell, unless you supply his drug habit as those who were obviously doing and dealing drugs weren't ever an issue to them, but we were. Needless to say, BOTH rooms we were in were disgusting! The first smelled of cat urine but we were made to feel like that was our only choice and since we had dogs, "it wouldn't matter" as they said. Then tried blaming us later for the smell ... Yet we don't own a cat and had in fact told them the moment we walked in the room. They said that's all that was clean and available. We also purchased a Rug Doctor shampoo'er to help make it tolerable to stay in as I'm allergic to cats and had a horrendous time breathing. Our vehicle was damaged, yet no cameras were available that actually worked and recorded the vandalism and later theft of the vehicle. We weren't awarded for our Wyndham Rewards for the three months stayed. We didn't request or ask for housekeeping, we did it ourselves. My husband works in hotels and we were treated with the highest level of DISRESPECT, esp once we called put some very fishy happenings in our bill!!! Then kicked out for standing up for ourselves. We've been scorned before, so thankfully I recorded before, during and after staying in each room. We also recorded a few other "gems", especially how we were treated BY NEW MANAGEMENT. For example, A MOUSE crawling along the window of a room near the office ... Among other videos and voice recordings of VERY wrong doings. Don't waste your time. Don't waste your money. Don't risk your health! They'll take complete advantage of you, make you feel like you have no choice but to cater to their threats and yet can't keep even a decent running hotel. Minimal, rude, abbrasive employees. Pictured are a couple examples of the stained furniture and gross carpets of the second room we moved TO. Also, a picture of my beautiful dogs in the room we moved FROM, the day we left (which is why the beds are stripped). I can't add the video/voice recordings but there's some examples to show we're not just saying these things. We were put in a stressful, scary situation that led us to be stuck there and they took...

Saw motel off freeway. Decided to stop. When we exited this was the first motel to our right as we exited so we ended up going there. My mother was very tired. She’s elderly, tired, ankles swollen.||it was female manager . We paid for the night plus a $50 deposit for no smoking in the room ,which you forfeit if you do. We Do not smoke!||I signed all the paperwork and everything paid for the room. She was like here are your towels, which was 2 yellow, dingy, off-white looking towels seem like they used it for rags to clean or wipe the floor that’s all dirty looking and stained!||We asked where were the hand towels and wash clothes? She said they didn’t have any, but It was one washcloth that was like very thin and look like it was used to wipe something like. || It looked more like a cleaning rag . we declined.||We got to room #110. It was a two queen bed room. As soon as we open the door, it smelled like smoke! I was like I gotta go back and tell them because I want my deposit back! My mother was like the toilet don’t flush. It was clogged with toilet paper and feces!!!!||I go back up to the front to tell her. She offered us the only other room she said on the 1st level . It was room #104, king size bed. That was a little better but I’m just ready to get out of here , The air conditioner worked that was fine. Eventually wash my hands , iLooks like it could’ve been pubic hair or facial hair like from shaving. It was like at least three pieces on the sink.||Out side people was walking around all night like the neighborhood where the drug addicts/ alcoholics hang around all night.|| People just look like they have nowhere else to go just hanging around the parking lot. ||I really felt uncomfortable and unsafe. That was not a good feeling. I took my long ice cooler and my truck bed extender off the back of my truck and I put it between the door and the dresser to block it. That’s how unsafe I felt. I’ve never felt at any point in time as long as I’ve stayed at other hotels/motels, I’ve never felt the need to do that before. ||I was ready for whoever came through that door!! I slept bad! A couple of hours total. I kept waking up. We got there around little after 9pm and we left at 5 AM. Had to red bumps got bit while I slept. It was a roach on the dresser! Instead of giving me $50 back I got $47- $20+$10+$5.x2, $1.x7. The $3. Wasn’t worth going back!. ||I would never ever ever stay here again, even if...
