I have chosen to stay at Days Inn Alhambra when I come to care for my 81 yr old mother bc it is conveniently located. I stay 3-4 nights every visit, which has been a total of 5 separate trips in 2021. The rooms are fine. They replaced the carpets earlier this year, and the King Size beds are super comfortable. On the flip side, the free breakfast is no longer hot foods, but instead now a granola bar, banana, yogurt, and apple juice. And don't look too closely bc the paint is peeling in the bathroom and the walls are marked up/stained. But for roughly $120 a night, this is all fine. Before this last visit, I would've rated this place 3, maybe 4 stars. But this past visit was so upsetting I doubt I will give them my regular business any more. Here's why... Normal checkout time is 11am. The night before I was to fly home, it started raining which in LA is pretty rare. I anticipated a flight delay (which it was by more than 2 hours) and requested a later check out since I book my flights timed to my checkout time. The young guy behind the counter said no problem and noted it next to my room# on some paper he had behind the desk. The next morning after I was all packed up, I went to Starbucks on the corner and when I came back at 11:30, I went to have the room key updated since i was locked out. The older man behind the counter gave me SO much grief, telling me 3 different times check out was at 11. I told him I was well aware, but that I already discussed it and got approval from the night time employee, which was noted on their check out paperwork behind the desk. He wouldn't let up about it, even though I just needed to be let in to get my luggage (I was 100% already packed up and ready to go). Not to mention, the cleaning lady had just started the room next to me, so I wasn't holding her up. I realize they don't want the late check out abused, but considering the reason I was asking, how often I give them my business, and that I had already gotten approval, this man's treatment of me was completely unnecessary and frankly very upsetting. I have worked in customer service my whole life and know that sometimes it's worth going the extra mile, especially for loyal customers. Apparently that's not true here, so next time I come to care for my mother, I plan to...
Read moreJust sent this. 🤦♂️🤦♂️||||When I was making my reservation for this current stay I applied and was approved for a Wyndham Rewards Visa. When I checked out on line, the new Wyndham card was used. That was great. Then, I arrived to check in and they asked me for the card. I told them it's a new account and asked if they could check it somewhere. Nope. There's my first negative. I'm a Hilton Honors member and always stay at Garden Inn. This time my daughter wanted me to stay at Days Inn in Alhambra. Oh my goodness. First the credit card issue. Then the room is average at best. To change the TV channel I have to be within six feet even though it has an RF extender glued on the wall under the TV. That's two. Third, the save the planet with a towel is great. But, the tub has a continuous drip. Fourth, when people walk by the room the vibration is awful. If they're rolling a bag, forget it it's like a freight train. And finally, I came back Saturday night/Sunday morning and there was no parking. I went in to the desk and was given a parking pass so I would be able to park on the street. That was nice, then I was told I would have to move my vehicle by 10 AM. Don't know why. I asked if he was sure even on a Sunday? he said yes. So much for relaxing.||I have to say, the probability of me staying at another Wyndham property...
Read moreTerrible service, filthy smell at room.
We checked in with the front desk and was told to find a parking spot on our own, first come first service; if there was no spot, they would issue us a parking permit to park across the street. There was only one spot left at the parking lot (except the handicap parking), so we parked it in. Within 20 min, there was a car parked right in front of us and blocked us in the spot.
We went in to talk with the front desk. The guy who checked us in blamed us not to ask him before parking. And the car which blocked us is belonging to another staff and he blocked us purposely. Come on, there is NO SIGN siting that was a staff parking or whatever. The front desk staff kept teasing and blaming us while the other staff was getting the key to remove the car. How rude?!
The room was filthy and we had to leave the door opened for an hour to ease the smell.
The cleaning team was nice and polite, other than that, there was nothing good...
