Happy Hour goes M-F, 3-7p. Well drinks are $3 and beers are mostly $2 off, but be forewarned that there are beers on the menu that go for big money, so you may still pay $8 for a happy hour beer. Trivia Tuesdays also and prizes are usually GC's for 38 Degrees.

38 Degrees is like 70% bar and 30% restaurant. I've dined here in the restaurant before but it j use didn't feel right. I wanted to be in the thick of the TV's showing Insert Favorite Team Here. So between my restaurant and bar experiences here....I prefer happy hour.

-=-Papas and Chorizo Tacos-=- When ordering anything with chorizo, you expect the dominant taste to be the chorizo. In the case of these tacos, it's actually that humongous gob of potato. It wasn't a good potato either, and by "good" I mean seasoned in any way. Only get these if you are a big fan of potatoes.

-=-Chorizo Flat Bread-=- Anything flat bread is going to be a light plate. In the case of the Chorizo Flat Bread, it was actually a perfect blend. There wasn't exorbitant amounts of chorizo on it, which was halfway a disappointment and halfway "maybe it's a good thing", but the taste of chorizo in every other bite was fulfilling to say the least. This was the best plate for this trip here.

-=-Tempura Battered Tots-=- These were a huge surprise, and probably should not even be called tots. I would relate these to Cuban Potato Balls without the meat. The gobs of potato are back, but this time in a different form. The fried tempura batter that covered these gobs of potato put in a bit more flavor than the tacos. It was served with a light aioli that didn't do it much justice. I'd prefer ketchup or something else much harder hitting. Don't get these and expect tater tots. Far from it.

Most of my food critiques here were mediocre at best, but keep in mind that I picked all the unique stuff. The better foods that I've had here were the burgers and the fish tacos. Get those first to experience the best that 38 Degrees has to offer. I also enjoy the ambiance here. It's a nice crowd and everyone was approachable...

Awesome place!

Recommended to me by my old Band director at the local highschool. Vouched for the garlic fries (they use FRESH garlic, get ready for that BITE!)

If the photos actually uploaded in order, they are the buttermilk fried chicken, 3 meat bbq tray(brisket, pastrami, pulled pork) w/ side of coleslaw & mashed potatoes, poutine fries, 2 meat bbq tray (brisket & pastrami) w/ side of mashed potatoes & mac, beer flight (bartenders choice), buck cherry, and lastly the bbq pork sliders. Also ordered pork ribs but forgot to take a photo.

Great friendly service! Chill atmosphere, great place for food and drinks.

Meat trays are definitely worth it. The pulled pork was a smidge dry though. The other selections were significantly more juicy. Should split this someone unless you plan on taking some home. Coleslaw had some spice to it. Very complimentary. Mashed potatoes needed an extra "umph". Something like garlic or ever fresh pepper can bring it up a level.

I'm told the poutine fries were good from my friend that ordered them. Didn't get a chance to try any as they demolished the plate! Must've been good!

Mac was great, definitely a solid choice!

Can never go wrong with sliders!

Their sauce definitely makes an improvement to everything.

Drinks were great.

Loved the pork ribs but everyone else thought they were dry. Maybe they got bad ribs because the ones I tried were pretty juicy(I ate them late too). It's also possible that they might have just been expecting a saucey rib rather than a dry rub rib.

The buttermilk chicken was decent, that garlic sauce definitely brought it up a level! Y'all need a Nashville style one too!

Overall a great experience and awesome food. Definitely a step up from the last time I came. Will be...

I had an amazing experience at 38 Degrees. I made my first visit about a month ago for the 5th Anniversary Event. Originally I wanted to be there when they first opened, but heard it was a terribly long line and too congested. Things happen for a reason. Surprisingly that day the drive from the OC to Alhambra wasn't bad. Parking on the street is a little horrendous, so I recommend parking in the lot south of the pub.

The wait wasn't too bad either, only 5 minutes then we were seated. The atmosphere is interesting, I would similar to Eureka!. My friends and I started off with a few flights because of the awesome tap list they had available. We chose mostly sours because hey, can't go wrong a delicious sour. I appreciate the server bringing out a list of the beers for the flights, explaining which beer is which. Sometime's we tend to forget and a list is very helpful.

All the craft beers were delicious, just to name a few -- Red Poppy, Almanac Farmers Reserve, Bear Republic etc. I also ordered some food -- Bambi Burger "Venison" with fries. If you check into Yelp you get 50% off any appetizer with a purchase of any entree. My friends with the sliders to compliment their beers. I am not over-exaggerating but the Venison burger is one of the best burgers I ever had. I definitely recommend it!

Service was exceptional! Throughout the night my friend was undecided on what she wanted to order both food and drink. The server waited patiently, offering his suggestions and really made the night. Too bad I forgot his name, but 38 Degrees is awesome pub for delicious food, extensive list of craft beers, and great service. Can't wait till the 6th year Anniversary has in store for...

We were so surprised to find there was no wait for a table at 38 Degrees on a Friday night, but we were really glad for it. We were greeted warmly, the noise level was just right in the restaurant, and the menu has lots of variety without being overwhelming. The staff was super friendly and offered great recommendations that were spot on. Our server said "you need the Philly Argentine sandwich in your life," and he was so right! It had just the right level of seasoning and was STUFFED with beef. Juicy, tender beef in a lightly toasted bun with a touch of chimichurri aioli...I'll be coming back for that again, though the rest of the menu is really tempting, too. My husband loved his ratatouille sandwich. More than a basic garden sandwich, this was oozing with pesto, cheese, and garlic aioli melding with veggies hot off the grill - everything we love about a chicken pesto sandwich, except I think chicken would've gotten in the way of the flavors, tbh. I'm not a vegetarian, but I'd order this sandwich in a heartbeat. I had a bite and almost kept the rest for myself. The beer was cold, the cider was bubbly, and the Oaxaca Old Fashioned was smoky, deep, and richly flavored. The beer cheese nachos were also pretty great, because how can you go wrong with beer cheese and pickled jalapenos? :) Huge portions, fantastic service, really yummy comfort food. The only thing that could've made this better would be to have retro movies playing on some of the TVs.

TLDR: Pub in downtown Alhambra with good food and huge tap selection. We were looking for a nice brew pub while visiting the LA area and 38 degrees came up in the search. The restaurant is in an active area with a lot of restaurants and venues, and parking is limited. We got one of the last two spots in the small lot behind the restaurant. It appeared that there is a parking structure nearby though. We sat at the bar and had to flag down help a couple of times, but I get that sometimes is the case when sitting at the bar. Someone nearby was eating their clam chowder off the special menu and we had to try it too. Really great choice. My wife tried the pastrami tray with a glass of red blend, and I had the brisket tray with their Heavenly Hefe. I don’t know if it was the 1/2” thick slices or how it was cooked, but we both found the brisket to be a bit dry. We both thought that the pastrami was very good. We both liked the Brussels sprouts, and I could have made a meal of the green beans. It was a lot of food overall.
