My wife and I wanted to check out some wineries in Napa, however most hotels were either booked or exorbitantly expensive (mainly because of the 4th of July long week-end). This hotel was available and was only about 10 miles away from Napa. I called ahead to make sure the Pool and SPA were available but when I checked it, the SPA (Jaccuzi) was closed and the Pool water did not seem clean (too many debris , looked like it had not been looked after for a while). I did not dare to use it.
The room was O.k. , nothing to write about. But the linen were kind of smelly, my wife who has a very strong smell felt it had a strange fartty smell to it.
I always have extra towels in my profile, but none were provided! Nothing Biggy, but these small things do affect your opinion of the service. The shower looked new and worked well.
The TV was strange, the channel list of programs did not correspond to what was actually being shown!
The breakfast was a joke! The place was trying hard to provide COVID-Friendly and safe breakfast, so they had two ladies making plates of their limited breakfast and individually wrap for to go, but the line was crazy ; I am not sure why they could not simply offer limited (pre-selected options) list of items and have them simply ready ahead of time! By the time the breakfast gets it back to your room, it is all cold anyways and the rooms do have a Microwave oven anyways! (there was no place to eat breakfast (due to Covid) eventhough California is now open for restaurants)
Overall, the place is O.k. if you want to have a quick one night stay, but definitely did not worth the price.
It was also crowded with large families, we could hear kids running around at all hours of day and night!
The rooms are not sound proof either. We could hear our next door loud and clear making a 5:30 a.m. phone call.
I was not even acknowledged for my Bonvoy premier Platinum (usually at least I get a couple of bottles of water) this time I was charged!
In Conclusion: If you are making a last minute reservation for Napa Valley area and the hotels there are too expensive or cannot find a place, this may be an O.K. place for an overnight place.
I hope Marriott upgrade this Fairfield INN to the same level as other ones they have...
Read moreStayed at the hotel in April 2025 with family after wine tasting. American Canyon isn't far from Napa (15 min) or Sonoma (45-60 min) but is much more affordable. It's a fairly typical Marriott and Fairfield Inn - no Bonvoy recognition, upgrade, late check-out, or acknowledgment of room preferences. Golds don't get much, but they didn't even give me my requested view or floor, despite the empty hotel. The "enhanced room upgrade" was more like a supreme downgrade.||The room was clean but extremely poorly maintained. The beds were fine, but the sofa sagged from overuse. Even worse, plugs fell out of the outlets/sockets, the light fixtures were rickety, the shower handle was loose, and the bathroom towel and grab bars were falling off. When we told the front desk, they said that the hotel was going to be renovated soon. Well, that doesn't really help anyone now. Also, it's not an excuse for things being broken.||Breakfast seemed like it met the bare minimum of brand standards - bread, cereal, yogurt, eggs, sausage, waffles, whole fruit, etc. Variety was limited but everything tasted fine. The breakfast room was quite small and would've been a tight squeeze if the hotel was full.||We had limited and unmemorable interactions with most of the staff. The attitude about the maintenance was blasé, kind of like, "Oh, yes, we know but don't care." Not even a token apology. Fortunately, the housekeepers were warm and friendly when we saw them in the hallways.||Used points for the stay, but they double-charged the incidental holds. One card was on my Marriott profile and I used a different card at check-in. They charged both. While it wasn't an issue for me, it might be a problem for others, especially if you use a debit card or a foreign CC with forex fees.||There's a Holiday Inn Express up the road that's next to a shopping center and Walmart. It's better in every way and at a similar price point. Also, unlike the Fairfield, you can actually walk to shops and restaurants and can go both north/south on 29.||I wouldn't stay at this property again. Yes, it's comfortable, somewhat safe, and has (some of) the basics. But there are better options nearby. I should've taken note of the management company/franchise owner, as I'd avoid their other...
Read moreThis hotel did not deliver what they promised. We booked a package for a higher rate than the standard rate. The package states on the website wine passes, a bottle of champagne and free breakfast. The one thing that drew us into booking was the wine passes. Sometimes the wineries can get a little pricey and we figured this would be nice. When we checked in we didn’t get anything so I asked the front desk before we left to get lunch and they said everything would be in our room when we came back. When we arrived back later a $10 bottle of champagne was in our room and no wine passes. I asked why there were no wine passes and back and fourth with the front desk lady, she kept saying the bottle of champagne was in the room. Finally after explaining we didn’t care about the champagne we cared about getting everything we were promised. The front desk lady explained the champagne was in the room. Again I said it’s not about the champagne it’s about everything that was promised in the package is not here. She finally says due to covid they don’t receive passes. Okay, that’s fine. Covid has been going on for TWO years why wasn’t this fixed on the website TWO years ago? It’s been one week since our stay and I’ve been going back and fourth with this hotel on honoring me the price of the standard rate since we were not promised what we booked with the package rate. They have yet to give us anything. The only thing they have done is change their package booking on the website and finally took out the wine passes In the package. From the front desk agent not letting us speak to a manager because “she’s been doing this a long time” to the front office manager Stephanie Ramirez sending me a “ the wine passes are only a 10% discount I apologize for the miscommunication” to the Hotel GM Juan saying the passes were optional. No one has given us a straight answer or compensation for the package booked. Why state on your website “We promise you'll be satisfied, or we'll make it right. That's our commitment to you. Ask us about The Fairfield 100% Guarantee.“ if this simply...
