The guest service clerk welcomed me back with a sarcastic “I see you came back.” I gave the clerk my name, ID and debit card after looking up my information the clerk noticed that my card information was the same as my friend and that he would not be able to rent a room to me because the room was for pleasure. This was very confusing because Iv booked at this hotel before and recommended the same hotel for friends who have stayed during the pandemic and I had never heard of this mandate. I asked the clerk for clarity on why the hotel was only booking guest for business. The clerk did not give a clear reason, which was frustrating and stated that if I was staying for business then I needed to provide an email from my employer.
The clerk then told me the reason he couldn’t rent a room to me was because the room was for pleasure and sex. I asked that he repeat his statement again to make sure I heard him correctly and he said that what I did was my personal business and that my friend said that the room was for pleasure. The clerk spoke to me looking me up and down and looking at my breast, my blouse was sheer and this made me feel very uncomfortable and furious. I was very upset at this treatment, as I am by no means what I felt the clerk was insinuating which is that I am a sex worker. I gave no inclination that I was a sex worker therefore I felt judged by my style of dress. There were other guests present as the clerk was saying this and I felt extremely embarrassed and insulted. I have never been treated in such a manner and this is by no means acceptable. I had done some research on the mandate and have gotten some clarity however the customer service I received from Zacharia at this Holiday Inn Express was by far a traumatic experience. I couldn’t sleep that night or the next night, I instantly felt self-conscious about what I wore which I have already tried to be mindful of as many women are objectified and disrespected by people based on what they may be wearing. The term pleasure was used to, what I felt profile me and being that this clerk was not knowledgeable on the mandate he was able to use whatever bias or digression to refuse service. The charges for the room were not immediately canceled out, in fact I was told by another clerk that I actually checked out when I never stayed at the hotel. I want this matter taken serious and looked into and serious disciplinary action taken because no person should be treated in such a way. I was publically embarrassed and accused of being a sex worker when I am not. I will be taking this matter to the appropriate persons in upper management. It is my hope that no one will ever have to experience what I did at this hotel or any location. Hotels are safe havens for people, and what I hoped would be a simple routine stay turned into a...
Read moreThis is an excellent hotel. The staff is very attentive, the rooms are always clean. All the amenities work and the breakfast is excellent. Furthermore, the breakfast is ready about 1/2 hour before 6. So we can leave early for work.
The location of the hotel is excellent; there is a pizza place right next door and Walmart next door is open 24 hours.
I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and my experience has been very good every time.
My ONLY complaint, which is why I don't give them all 5 stars, is that they never give you the bonus points that you sign up for. They have this promotion where they give you 10,000 bonus points for a higher rate if you stay for 2 nights. I always sign up for this promotion and I have never gotten my bonus points without calling or writing to request them. In all other IHG hotels that I stay, the bonus points are awarded automatically and posted into my account without me asking. Holiday Inn Express American Canyon is the ONLY hotel where you have to ask for the bonus points to be awarded. This is becoming so much of a pain that I would consider not staying here any longer. After all, there are plenty of other IHG hotels in the area that award the 10,000 bonus points automatically and without having to beg for them. I have tried to talk to the hotel management but I have not gotten my calls returned. So this is the only way I have to complain. So, if you want a great hotel, please stay here. If you also want your bonus points, be prepared t write or call to request them because you will not get them automatically...
Read moreI had a very long day with training out of town and decided it was best to get a hotel for the night instead of driving 4+ hours home. When I arrive at the hotel I was greeted by DeAndre whom I was absolutely pleased to find out was in the military. It is rare companies hire active military anymore and it made me proud to know Holiday Inn hired him. That made me proud of this company. When I arrived it was pretty obvious I had a bit of a hard day and he immediately picked up on that, handed me some pool towels and pointed me in the direction of the hot tub. The tub by the way was a luxurious touch. After I got out of the hot tub I went to my room where again, I was nothing short of impressed. The pillows and blankets were heavenly to say the least. TV was nice and big, bathroom was also extremely well kept and almost looked brand new. Couldn't hear anyone else which also was a nice touch. Can't tell you how many times I've been to hotels where I was kept up all night by other people. Couldn't hear anything, was so peaceful. When I woke up, I headed downstairs and got myself some breakfast. Most hotels offer like cereal or something basic, was jaw dropped when I saw an entire breakfast buffet for the taking. Filled my stomach up with some good food, actual good food. Again, food was actually really good. When I went to check out the ladies at the front desk were so nice to me. I honestly don't post reviews much but this place earned it. Most hotels in the area were $250+, i got the suite for $163 after taxes. Was amazed at the quality and price. Feel...
