The location was the reason we booked. While we were close to Kelly Springs, I’m not sure it was worth the DRAMA, this stay provided. We booked nearly a month in advance. Checking in on a Sunday leaving on Tuesday. We have stayed at a many Days Inn that are consistent with the brand. Not this one. 😂
Upon check in we were assigned a room different from what we booked. The difference was a king room to a queen room. We can roll with that no issues. The room we were checked into when we opened the door one of the cleaning ladies stopped us and put us in the neighboring room because 117 wasn’t cleaned. She opened 116 for us and walked to the front desk to tell them to up date our one card, (they couldn’t afford to part with two cards for our stay). When I got to the front desk she assigned us room 118, so my husband had to move our things one more time to the third room at this point. The room however was VERY VERY clean. We slept okay on the busy road that is used like a drag strip.
The next morning we were up at 5:00am to get to the springs. It was then we noticed no coffee maker in the room. When we came back from the springs there were some of Apopka’s men in blue trying to diffuse a situation between the front desk and a guest of late check out. I was pretty sure we were going to end up on an episode of COPS. Our room was adjacent to the eviction so we took ourselves down to use the pool that was the first and foremost picture on the booking. The pool was clean and nice and quite near perfect. We stayed in the pool long enough for the eviction to be, as we thought, at the end. Did you know if you are evicted from the hotel, you can still stay in the parking lot with all your crap making sure everyone in the hotel is miserable? That was a new one by me. While I understand the hotel cannot foresee evictions, they should at very least insure that those removed from their rooms are also removed from the property.
We attempted to take naps but between home girl yelling up and down the hallways and the construction that was in the room above us (we had no knowledge of construction until it was going on), sleep was not going to happen.
We went to dinner came back to people checking the handles of cars parked in the lot smoking the cheapest form of the devils lettuce. I walked to the front desk to alert them, but the same lady who was losing her mind about her eviction was just hanging out in the lobby with the front desk woman who did the eviction. So I peaced out back to our room. I double checked our car to make sure it was locked.
My husband and I agreed that we would be gone first thing in the morning.
Just after 6am I walked to the front office to get coffee for our drive home. I fought the sugar ants all over the counter and walked back to our room. Our card was deactivated. I guess they didn’t want to chance anymore over stays. With two hot coffees in hand I called my husband who was showering to come open the door. Super inconvenient. When I checked out I asked why the card was deactivated so early. She said it just happens. Okay.
You have the location near the springs and many eateries. Overall, we will avoid this Days Inn next time as they are not consistent...
Read moreWe stayed here for the week of christmas from out of town. The rooms were not too bad, and the cleaning staff was nice, but the management needs to be removed. As long as they are there we will not stay there again! AND We cut our stay short because of this as well.
We had our service dogs with us, and our service dogs stay with us as we travel, no matter what and the website said nothing about this not being a pet friendly location. Mangement had the nerve to ask if our dogs could stay with family or friends who we were visiting in town while we were there. UMM NO they are service dogs for a reason! Then on top of that, we got bad aditudes from the management on arrival, and we were given a room to start with that had a bad TV. After we notified the office before we left for the day, management went in, checked the TV and we were moved to a different room, in lue of them just changing out tthe TV. Fine, what ever they needed to do.
BUT THEN we felt like after that, the management wished to harasse us about our service dogs the entire time we were there. Constently watching from the office when we walked them before we loaded them for transport and the such. Yes, we pick up after tem all the tme and walk them where little to no traffic will be near them and no one walks otherwise. Also, Instead of picking up the mess and taking it to a trash can near the building, we disposed of ours in the dumpster near by. We respected the property the full week there, and never once felt like we were able to just relax while there. To make maters worse, our dogs went into protect mode, growling and barking at people who would constently, loudly walk by the door all the time day and night. We had a sign up on the window that said " Service Dogs at Work, Do Not Disturb" and still had to get up late at night to see why and who was making all the noise. Mangement did not think to have us move one more time to a more secluded , less trafficed area of the building, to help make our stay more comfortable. Out of respect for the property, i waited till we were checkng out to let the property know privetly, about a bug problem we found. But after the very generic the other day that said "We will fix our mistakes and try our hardest to meet those basic expectations " I feel that Wyndham needs to reevaluate the management and property at...
Read moreThe clerk was okay, the "manager" was an a_s. Like most, I went online and saw $97 per night on the Official Days Inn website. Since I was already nearby I stopped in and asked for their best rate for two nights. I was quoted $155ish as their best rate after mentioning AARP, AAA, AOPA discounts... I then asked if I could go look at a room first in order to confirm cleanliness and the clerk said I wasn't permitted to do that and I would have to talk to the manager who was on property "somewhere". I had just driven 24 hrs from Texas and wasn't in the mood to hunt down the manager, so I said to go ahead and check me in for a room. AS i walked out with my key I noticed I had just been charged $330+.. Turns out the clerk was only quoting the per night rate.. I then went back and asked them to match the $97 per night rate listed on the official website for Day's Inn. Long story short, he refused and said be would have to wait for the manager before issuing a refund. I then sat down in the lobby and started booking the $97 rate when the manager walked in. I then tried talking to the manager and explained I was in the process of rebooking at the $97 rate and asked he he could just issue a refund for the difference, ie. matching the advertised Day's Inn Official Website price of $97. He immediately started yelling at me and basically called me a liar. I tried to show him the advertised price on my phone, however he just walked away and went into the back. At that point I told the clerk f-it... I didn't want to give them my business even at the $97 rate so I walked out.. Strange enough, 15 minutes later they changed the price online to the $155ish rate. I guess they can get that rate due to the Disney crowd, but I certainly won't be giving any of my money to a business that has an unprofessional manager like...
