Well as of today, 6.27.21 I'd caution parents to be on the lookout for a group of middle-aged men hanging around here and across the street at the West Orange Trail Apopka park; they are running drugs consistently between the two. They will also likely be consuming open containers of alcohol. Apopka Police are amply aware but are powerless to remove them from the parks permanently as the current mayor stripped them of that ability, per a conversation hubby had with the officers today. These men don't have children so they really have not reason to be there.
The pad itself is cute, with multiple water features for kids of all ages. It has a current capacity of 75. Our group alone ranged in age from 1.5-12 and they all enjoyed themselves. Plenty of shaded seating outside the confines of the gated splash pad area, but no shady places to sit within it. When we were there, the water was too heavily chlorinated and it stung the eyes painfully. We've not had that experience at other splash pads.
