I love Burger King. I always have. Ok, maybe their drinks aren't the best, and chicken nuggets I detest, but the whoppers, fish sandwiches, and original chicken sandwiches (from the fryer), are the best.
Normally, my review would be a 4 or 5, but not today. It would be quite funny why I gave a 3 stars review if I weren't so frustrated.
This review is based on two stores and the 2 for $6 menu. Both were based on the drive-thru experience. When you can buy cheap, nothing is wrong with that. But my last experiences, I kinda question the "health" of Burger King.
As I say, give me a fresh original chicken sandwich, I'm usually very happy. But on one particular trip to the Enka/West Asheville Burger King, I was flabbergasted, for the lack of a better term. I wanted the 2 for $6.original chicken. The poster is on the establishment window, but I'm always asking to confirm the availability of the price. On this particular day, it was as advertised. That is until the store employee announced the price. Something's amiss when she announced my total bill.
I'm not a math whiz, but I know the price given to me wasn't what I was expecting. I asked again if the chicken sandwich was 2 for $6.
"Oh, do you want the 2 for $6?"
"Yes, please!" I said, shaking my head in disbelief. I can't make this stuff up!
How can 2 original chicken sandwiches sell for what she charged me as opposed to the $6 dollar menu. A master decision, or an honest mistake, I cannot say, but should it have even been an issue at all?
The Burger King on Russ Avenue in Waynesville had me grasping for straws on this particular day. A 2 for $6 menu item, the whopper sandwich enticed me. My order had cheese on both sandwiches, a $1.20 value, and a small soda, $14.
I asked about the price of the cheese, as I mentioned before. Unfortunately, I didn't pursue the cost much longer after the manager became involved over the dispute, and after I kept reiterating the 2 for $6. Whether there was a misunderstanding or an oversight by the employees, I reluctantly paid. I know the cheese wasn't the issue, but I was too flustered to argue at this point.
Once I eventually stopped to eat, I decided to check the receipt. For 2 whoppers, the price was $9.98. I believe I understand where the error was in this transaction. There is a whopper meal for two for $10. I believe somehow, someway, something went awry, and out of the three of us, I was the only person realizing something wasn't right about this.
Two stores with similar circumstances, three days apart. I didn't believe inflation had an influence on the outcome of these separate, but similar transactions. Incompetence maybe, but it left a bad taste in my mouth, I do know that much. Just be aware the next time you purchase a 2 for $6. This too may totally wipe out your budget if you're...
Read moreHorrible manager there tonight!!!!!!! Walked up to multiple homeless employees in tears about how they're being treated at work. AFTER!!!! I was turned down service at the drive though window because I walked from my hotel. Manager(( large, grumpy, old woman)Feb 25, 9:40pm)told me with anger spitting out of her mouth that insurance won't cover me on foot in drive way after serving another lady on foot, at the window because her order was incorrect. Then told me I can't recieve my mobile order bc I'm on foot and that i need to move because im about to be hit by the car at the speaker(waiting on her to give me my food and take their order next). So I asked" when I call corporate to complain, I'll say you only wanted to serve one patron on foot?" She never offered to bring it to the front for me or what my mobile order number was. Just wanted my name. It's Jacob...
Read moreI haven't ate all day, went and I asked for a plain chicken sandwich, got one slathered top and bottom bun with mayo. Ruined my entire day. May seem like a bit of a dramatic statement, but when you're already having a very bad day, that just added the icing to the cake. So, very big thanks to whoever made my sandwich without care. I work in customer service too, and I'll tell you the impact you have on people is more then just a chicken sandwich.. sometimes it's the thing that really sends you over the edge and let's just say that did it for me. Please next time, just put meat and a bun on a plain sandwich. Please. I couldn't go back and get another one since my car is being worked on so I spent 40$ of my hard earned money, on a meal (family ate too), that I had to sit and watch everyone else eat but me, needless to say I'm pretty...
