Worst hotel stay ever. Booked a group stay. The staff made no effort whatsoever to make this a decent experience. There's probably a character limit, so I'll try to summarize the long list of issues. First, the attitudes of just about everyone working there were horrible. The young man working the front desk at night was very pleasant to speak with and happily did what he could to assist us, but the middle-age lady that works during the day, along with the housekeepers...their attitudes were bad every day of our stay. We were a pretty large group and just about everyone expressed the same concerns. You could even see it in their faces before asking a question. There were so many issues myself and many in our group experienced. The lack of care & concern expressed by the staff was unbelievable. This led me to believe that these issues and complaints were a common thing and weren't going to be addressed nor fixed. I was correct. It was obvious the standards were pretty low at this hotel. The first issues occurred as soon as we stepped foot off the 3rd floor elevator. We were greeted with a horrible stench that consumed the entire floor. As we held our breath to get to our room, I noticed how dirty the hallway floor was. Food, trash, crumbs, and dirty wet wash cloths strewn about. It was disgusting to see and walk past. Went back down to the front desk and immediately brought the situation to their attention. Back in my room, I then noticed how filthy the room was. The air was dirty and stale, the room was dreary, and the lighting was extremely poor. The carpet hadn't been vacuumed or cleaned. The beds had visible soils and stains. No bed skirt, so the lower foundation mattress was exposed and was the dirtiest I've ever seen. Stains on the top comforter. Visible hair on my pillow. The AC vent was extremely dirty. The phone didn't work. The walls were filthy with visible stains all around, especially leading to the bathroom. Orange and brown stains on the door and walls. The bathroom sink had yellow stains in it and on the counter. It was obvious that ZERO attempt had been made to clean this room thoroughly. I overheard another guest asking a housekeeper for assistance and she blew him off explaining that she is 'getting off work after finishing with this room'. Absolutely ridiculous. The lighting in the room was extremely low/poor especially in the bathroom. While in the room, a staff member used a key card and walked right in on us with towels in her hand, which we didn't request. It was probably a last minute effort to straighten out the room. I thought maybe my room's condition was a single occurrence, so I checked out other rooms of those in my group. All of the issues were common. The 3rd floor was the only floor that stunk. We moved to another floor. This floor was cleaner than the 3rd and the room appeared a tad bit better, but we still saw stains on the bed base, walls, carpet, and ac vents. We received no room service until the day of checkout, which they show up knocking on your door at 8AM asking what time are you leaving. We should've also been made aware that they experience car thefts and break-ins. But we found that out the hard way when several cars had windows busted out and were broken into the night before we checked-out. The hotel offered no apology, no assistance, simply didn’t care. If it weren't for an entire group staying here, I would have cancelled and left. The hotel is absolutely dirty, from the rooms down to the seating in the lobby. Also to note, a group of guys, who clearly weren’t guests, were walking around outside casing the parking lot and eventually came into the hotel and ran through all three floors before eventually running off outside. To add to everything else, the pool was closed during our entire stay and we weren't informed beforehand. For a family group reservation, we should've been made aware of this. Due to this stay, I will never stay at a...
Read moreThe 1st issue was the desk person or manager being dressed in a t-shirt at check in. I found that kind of odd being 1st impressions are very important. 2. The next issue the hallway on the third floor had an unclean smell the whole time we were there. 3. Our first room that we checked into was room 313… The bathroom floor was extremely dirty it appeared the floor was mopped with a dirty mop and the area in front of bathroom door was dirty as well. It appeared smeared and streaked it was really very obvious (pics are available). 4. A hole in wall where the smaller tv was supposed to be. The second small tv was not in place. 5. The sofa had obvious stains on the cushion. (pics are available) 6. I walked down to the desk and requested a new room from the front desk manager (Warren). We had already unpacked our clothing and had to repack and was moved to room (323). 7. What was odd the staff at the front desk did not have name tags. 8. Room (323) smaller tv was not working in order to watch the tv. The desk manager stated “They were in the process of installing the TVs and connecng the cabling”, and that was why there was no service to the smaller tv. 9. The actual tv program guide in the room did not match with the channels programmed to the tv in room (323). So of course, it became a trial-and-error process to find a channel. 10. On Dec. 24, 2023 around 8:00 am, I was awakened by leaf blowers. I looked out my bedroom to see a yard crew blowing leaves through the parking lot where my sister pearl white Genesis was parked. Later that morning when we went to the car it was covered with dirt & leaf parcles. (pics available). I informed the lady at the front desk she stated that she was aware of the debris on the cars, and she said her own car was the Nissan SUV parked next to me. She wrote down the complaint and said she would give it to the front desk manager Warren. 11. The staff was asked to replace towels in our room on Christmas day and I also asked the lady who was at the front desk to remind the staff to bring new towels to our room and bedding for the sofa bed; it did not happen on the first request. I had to get the towels and bedding from the front desk manager, Warren, later that evening upon our return. Warren apologized for our request not being taken. 12. The staff never stated what would be done about all of the above incidents. 13. It was odd that were flyers posted throughout the hotel about a contest for hotel will the most good reviews win a party for the employees. I have been a member for over twenty plus years and have stayed in Holiday Inn Expresses more than I can count. I have never been so disappointed in professionalism, service and cleanliness of a Holiday Inn Express as we were/are with this one this time. I’m requesting a full refund of my $447.54. This is surely not acceptable ways of doing business in response to your Customer Care Program. This is my second request for a...
Read moreThe Holiday Inn Express Camp Creek is in desperate need of updates and a deep clean of the property. Upon check-in the first room that I was assigned to was simply not up to typical HI Express standards. I found dirty carpet, dirty and damaged walls, stains on the bedding and cobwebs hanging from the ceiling. I quickly asked to move and got a somewhat lukewarm response from the front desk clerk. Later that night I saw the manager and showed her just a few of the photos from my first room. She agreed that it was not up to standards and apologized.
My second room was better, but not by much. My bedding had rips and stains, the walls were well loved, the carpet was dirty and the bathroom was in great need of a deep clean and some TLC.
I stayed a total of 7 nights. Only once, after calling down to the front desk, did I get toiletries replaced. Even with empty bottles in my garbage, new shampoo and lotion were not provided on a daily basis. I had to go to the Target nearby to buy lotion. I did ask a young gentleman who introduced himself as housekeeping on September 14 if I could kindly get some shampoo, lotion and a wash rag. He replied, "sure, I'll go get those for you." I waited almost 45 minutes before getting into the shower, hoping that any minute he'd knock on my door with my simple request. Later that day I was in the lobby and saw the same young man. He saw me and stated, "sorry I didn't get you what you needed, we ran out of shampoo and lotion."
Multiple days upon arriving back to the hotel I found no clean towels, the carpet not vacuumed and no clean sheets. Only once in my 7 nights did they change the sheets or vacuum my carpet. I certainly didn't expect clean sheets daily, but I would hope that housekeeping would replace the wet towels and wash rags that were on my bathroom floor and vacuum the carpet. Four out of my seven nights I came home to find no clean wash rags and had to go to my friends room next door and borrow one of hers. On my last night of my stay I called the front desk and asked for what I needed after coming home to find no new towels replaced. The front desk clerk apologized and offered to add some points to my IGH account. No points were ever added. The young man who delivered the wash clothes was on his personal cell phone when he knocked on my door and continued to chat with his friend as he handed me what I had requested.
The hallway carpet was frankly the dirtiest, most well loved carpet I've EVER seen at a hotel before.
What did go well? The front desk staff was friendly, the shuttle drivers were also friendly and drove in a safe and professional manor, the breakfast was well stocked and always had plenty of selection.
I would not chose to stay at this property again given the current conditions of...
