Laquinta Buckhead Georgia 12.4-12.7 Details: I spent 3 nights here December 4-7, 2024. Occupied by my German Shepherd puppy. The pet fee here is $25/per night. Although the lobby is somewhat attractive the check-in desk area is way to small and guest easily get backed against the wall from the door to the desk; poorly designed. Unless you don't mind people being in your personal space.
Service & Staff: -the desk charged me twice and locked up $600 instead of $300; she messed up the system and did it on purpose pretending to have lost track. I extended a night and was charged twice for it as well; (1)$81 & (1)$82. Plus a $16 charge. Of the five debits 2 closed out upon me receiving my final bill which was correct. But 3 are still pending like today 12.12.24. Unacceptable. -the male that works night shift and early morning isn’t trained to handle any billing discrepancies, doesn’t take or make note, tells you to try back for the manager and when he/she gets in -the male that works afternoon and evening was a little sour. When I asked for ketchup he checked and said they didn’t have any. The hotel serves hot breakfast but doesn’t have ketchup? I had breakfast there 1 of 3 mornings and purchased elsewhere after. The sausage and eggs were cold. I felt maybe I’d have a better shot the next day, but it was sausage and eggs again so I didn’t have any. And of course you can make waffle or toast but I absolutely hate people and didn’t want to bother with the crowd.
Room: Was decent except someone else hair was on a towel and the bed. Cute sminiature bar of dove at the sink and I don’t use dove but thought it was so cute I used it to wash my hands. I attempted to sleep in the recliner while there; never slept in the bed but encouraged my dog to. But he and I ended up on the floor by my last night. Where I sleep for the first time during that stay for about 3hours. I didn’t get any sleep here. Or any other hotel. Been in 7 or more over the last 6weeks.
Location: -Not exactly remote but tucked off in the corner right across from the express way. You can easily access interstate 75 & 85. East of it is a storage space/building/lot. In front of it is a entertainment company of some sort that doesn’t keep up a lot of traffic. And there’s two 24 hr asian spa type places nearby also; walking distance. I got yelled at by a crackhead while walking my dog. Would have whooped her ass if I didn’t have the dog and left her to d-e. -theres a mcdonalds nearby. Gas stations and few places to eat. I tried the lamb about a mile or so away and it wasn’t what I expected but was editable. -At night they have a security guard sometimes. -Most every time I went to my car my traces were covered by a random male. 2 from the hotel 2 from the street. A back guy was tucked in the bushes directly behind but about 100ft from my car my dog found him. Two different black males on foot literally approached my car from the sidewalk as I approached my car from the parking lot and stood there within feet of me while I was at my car. As if they were claiming it belonged to them. A white male that was staying at the hotel did the same one night. I loved further away from my car and he drew closer to me and the dog before turning around and walking away. This is on the hotels surveillance. *And mysteriously 1 of 2 mercedes benz key fobs comes up missing. Desk did not have it when I called earlier this week. I didn’t inquire about the billing issue gave it a complete 7-10 to clear itself up because that’s exactly what their going to say.
I’m going to call today and see if I can get them to unleash my $700 of which only $200 goes to them. So that’s $500 I haven’t been able to touch since I stayed there. Its part of a more gruesome story though that you’ll soon see on the news. Subsequently the car wash I got the day I left didn’t post either…
The best thing I can say about this place is you can tell the difference in a smoke free hotel. It did smell good.

Read moreMy husband and I booked a room at this LaQuinta location during our overnight visit to Atlanta to watch his youngest daughter graduate from Emory. The approximate location to Emory is very convenient but the area is very run down and does not feel "safe", although there is not much that can be done other than possibly putting up security measures to ensure guests of their safety. WE brought our 4-year-old granddaughter with us for the visit and when we settled in at 10pm to go to sleep, she fell asleep pretty quickly followed by my husband and then myself... I was awoken at 1 am by banging doors and yelling in the halls by people coming back to the hotel from what I assume was late night fun and as I laid there listening a particular LOUD bang occurred right outside OUR door and my granddaughter was startled awake, jumped straight out of the bed in complete terror, and ran straight to the door and flung it open in one swift gesture and had literally ran out into the hallway, before I could even reach her. For reference, she is a small 4-year-old weighing approximately 35 pounds and not very strong, but she was able to bypass the security measures, because THE SECURITY MEASURES ARE FAULTY IN THAT ROOM!!!! The door had been locked and latched at the top before we laid down and the latch failed to keep her INSIDE the room when she woke up in terror. I DID NOT SLEEP the rest of the night for fear it would happen again. I did fashion a barrier across the door as a deterrent but still DID NOT FEEL SAFE!!! There was also a LARGE gap in the door when closed as can be seen in the pictures. The expectation that you are SAFE inside a hotel room is not an unreasonable expectation. I would EXPECT that when told of a situation such as this occurring during a stay and alerting the front desk upon checkout that there would be a FOLLOW UP from management so the problem could be addressed properly but I have NOT heard from ANYONE regarding this issue. Our stay was on December 13, 2024. I would LOVE to know that SOMEONE has addressed and resolved this issue with this door so that there is not a worry of any child getting OUT of the hotel room...
Read moreWe stayed 1 night and the reservation price was $94.19. But on my CC it showed $194.19, which is exactly $100 more. Filed a dispute with my CC company. I asked for a 1 hour later check out and the front desk told me that it would be $25 per hour after 11AM. I told the front desk that I had requested a 12 PM check out in my reservation. He said, he did not see it and threw in the General Manager authority "scare" of having the discretion to charge the $25 per hour after 11 AM. I told the front desk employee, that I will be filing a complaint with their parent company. Within 5 minutes of hanging up, the front desk called me and said he found my original reservation request for a Late Checkout at 12 PM and a late check out was not going to be a problem. But now, my CC was charged $100 on top of the original price of $94.19. I have the reservation email. I saw reviews of customers having trouble or problems during or after checking out. I thought it was an isolated incident. But I truly mistaken! Wyndham Corporate needs to address this nonsense, because this is by far the worst experience We've had with LaQuinta hotel! It is disappointing and rather alarming! Another disturbing incident after confirming our late check out for 12 PM, an employee, with a clipboard in hand, knocked on our door to ask if we were checking out at 11 AM. I told him that we were checking out at 12 PM and front desk is already aware of it (10:40 AM). I found this very strange, because it was the same person working the front desk! Idk if this was to expedite our departure or intimidate us to leaving earlier at 11 AM... This needs to be investigated and immediately correct so it does not reoccur!
The location and room was good. But not enough towels in bathroom. For breakfast hard boiled eggs were the only egg item provided. Other LaQuinta's had a variety of premade omelets and alternated breakfast links and bacon. This hotel only provided sausage patties. I would only recommend this particular LaQuinta with caution... They can definitely...
