I am writing to provide a candid review of my recent stay at the Super 8. Despite driving 3.5 hours based on the hotel's website depiction of luxurious rooms, swimming area, and clean rooms, I was disappointed upon arrival. I had booked the room to attend our HolyDay events with my children. However, upon checking into room 214, I discovered it was infested with bugs and had food under the chest of drawers. After bringing this to the attention of the manager, I was reassigned to room 210, and had to relocate my family, only to find a leaky bathroom with a flooded floor. The second night, the toilet stopped working, and I sent my son to inform the manager, who assured me that someone would be sent to fix it. However, the issue was not resolved until the third day, and the plumber left fecal matter on the toilet seat and floor. I expressed my disgust and dissatisfaction to the front desk, and the manager offered to deduct $25 from my five-day stay, which I have yet to see. The hotel's false advertising and subpar conditions, exacerbated by the hazardous environment and ongoing reconstruction, significantly impacted our HolyDay celebration. The manager attributed the issues to renovations due to a storm, but I believe that if extensive renovations are necessary, no rooms should be rented to consumers. As a paying customer, I expect quality accommodations, and my hard-earned money deserves better. I am extremely dissatisfied, and my children felt uneasy due to the illicit activities being conducted on the premises. My children were subjected to witnessing these activities, for an example a woman selling herself for a toaster oven, which was disturbing, especially given that I had booked the room well in advance and did not have the means to find alternative lodging. The lodging was filthy, and my children and I had to clean the tub and stand on towels to shower. We also had to cover the bedding and our suitcase with dryer sheets to avoid getting bed bugs. I reached out to corporate to file a complaint, but they only offered me 5,000 points to reserve another room in the future, which I found insufficient. I am writing this review to inform other travelers, particularly those not from the area, of the unacceptable conditions at this hotel, so that families can avoid experiencing the toxic and traumatizing environment that we endured. The experience has been unacceptable, and I will not recommend this hotel to my family or others for the remaining HOLYDAY events throughout the year. I booked the hotel through a third-party site and was unaware of its condition until my arrival. Unfortunately, I did not have the additional funds to change rooms, which resulted in my children and me being forced to stay in substandard conditions. Had the hotel provided a refund, I could have sought alternative accommodations, but this was not an option. The doors didn’t lock well, and we had to put chairs up under the door and felt unsafe the whole time. The place needs to...

Read moreI booked through priceline.com, minutes before checking in. Upon entering my room, I noticed missing ceiling light fixtures and exposed wires hanging. The room had a smoke odor though its a non smoking room. Shower was not clean. Immediately went back to Savannah at the front desk and expressed my concerns. She showed me a second room that still didn't seem clean and I surely wouldn't have felt comfortable sleeping in the bed. Third room had damaged furniture like a dog was chewing it. At this point, I kindly asked to cancel the reservation, as I didn't feel comfortable staying there, between the obvious lack of care put into the property itself and all the activity outside, I did not feel it was a safe location. I was told by Savannah to contact priceline.com for a refund and was told the hotel is only willing to refund 1 of the 2 nights I paid for, which immediately made me furious. I then spoke on the phone with April the hotel manager who said she would contact the owner and see if he would make an exception given the circumstances though their policy is you must cancel within 24hrs. I never got a call back from April. I had also left my license there, which they had at the front desk and no one bothered to call me and let me know it was there, as I traveled from NJ to GA. 2 days later after checking out of a different hotel, I stopped by looking for my license, which April handed me and told me the owner was unable to do regarding the refund.. as I expressed myself again to April, this time in person, she didn't seem to care. Funny how I mentioned I didn't feel safe and yet the hotel manager herself was carrying a gun on her hip..when do hotel managers carry guns? Highly advise stay away from this place. Now I'm having to pursue a legal case to get my money back. Very sad for anyone to have to go...
