Taqueria Gardenia — Restaurant in Austin

This place is great! Weird location, I’m pretty sure I saw a drug deal go on in the parking lot, but the tacos are well worth it. Great service, friendly owner, and the tacos are incredible. Between my friends and I, we got the bistec, pollo (chicken), carne asada, and barbacoa tacos. They were all amazing. I’m having a hard time choosing my favorite between the bistec and the pollo, so go ahead and order both! The chicken is crispy and delicious, and the bistec falls apart in your mouth. Truly incredible. Tacos are $3 a piece and come with lots of meat. I’m pretty sure the tortillas are handmade based on flavor. Greasy, but amazing. I will be going here again and I recommend it to anyone looking for some authentic Mexican street tacos. They taste just like the ones I used to get in Sonora Mexico....

Dirty place, lowest quality , employees don't wash their hands as often as they should they go from flipping tortillas to handeling raw meat to stuffing taco with onions and cilantro to takaing your money then back to preparing tacos. Ladies and gentlemen money is very dirty. The lady in the morning is so sweaty that it drips and falls into the food as she is preparing it. These are probably the best tacos I’ve had in my life. Being raised in Austin, I’ve been to numerous taco trucks all over the city and these beat anywhere I’ve been (even my favorite spots on N Lamar). I got carnitas, and my friend got al pastor.
