Hampton Inn & Suites Banning-Beaumont — Hotel in Banning

Let me start with the positive, which earned this hotel 2 stars instead of 1. ⭐️⭐️ The staff are INCREDIBLY friendly and professional, and are truly a benefit to this hotel. 👍🏽 I would just recommend that they are all equally and fully aware of the accommodations available on a guests reservation when checking in to ensure there is no confusion in whether or not a room has a pullout mattress or not. Seems like it would be an easy find. When we were told no, we went out and purchased an air mattress only to find that the room actually did have a pullout bed. Nonetheless, that was the least of our concerns. The main concern was the overall experience with respect to the cleanliness of the hotel and room. Unfortunately, as we were walking in we watched a cockroach devour what appeared to be a piece of a burger that was likely dropped by someone while walking in, and it happened to stay there long enough for the roaches to come and partake. 🪳😱🤢Well, that wasn’t very appetizing as we were carrying in our own food and debating on whether or not we should eat in the car instead. That alone ruined it for me. But since there were no other hotels available on a Saturday night during Mother’s Day weekend, we had to walk over the roach Buffett and just deal with it for a night. 😵When we got to our room, it was very nice but unfortunately there was partially eaten food left on the desk. Yep, it was left from the guest before us. 🤮 That was the deal breaker. We all slept on the air mattress, very uncomfortably, of course, but we did what we had to do to ensure we didn’t go back home and ruin the family Mother’s Day gathering planned on Sunday. We slept with one eye open. 👀All in all, I will never stay at this hotel again and they may have ruined it for the entire chain...

When we arrived, on New Years Eve….we got there at 10:45pm with the hopes to have a smooth check in to get to the Morongo for the ball drop. The lady Silvia at the front was helping us but kept telling us we had no reservation, we were told to pay for an additional deposit each room and three different people had tried their cards for them all to get “declined”. She finally gave us our keys at 11:15pm and we had two different rooms, one of the rooms were fine but dirty sheets. The second one the keys did not work, we had to go back down and Silvia said it was weird and that they should work once she activated them. Then we get to our room and someone was staying in that room!! Their clothes on the bed, shoes on the floor, etc which I assume is why the key didn’t work. We came down obviously upset because it was NYE and already 11:35pm, we got no refund because we “booked through a third party”, told it wasn’t her fault. Then got stuck with a smoking room because they were all sold out, I came down the next morning to ask if we were going to be accommodated for anything and the lady said there was nothing she could do and that I can call the next day to speak to the manager. Honestly, I was in town to visit my parents who live in a community nearby so I used this hotel really as just a peaceful place to sleep and get some work done, not spending any significant time utilizing the amenities. I arrived pretty late and was greeted with a very kind front desk clerk who was able to also adjust my booking for me at the last minute, saving me some money. He was thoughtful and made sure to book a quiet room away from the elevator which I really appreciated. I didn’t expect much but was really pleasantly surprised by the quietness and cleanliness of the room. Breakfast was pretty run of the mill, but I never had issues with food running out or poor quality (to be fair I am an early riser and usually got breakfast around 6-7am so that might have helped).

The fitness room was honestly a little depressing with the treadmill out of service and the peloton partially busted as well. NONETHELESS, I was shocked they even had a peloton so you bet I cranked out a 30 minute ride!
