I'm very curious about this low ratings posted here. My experience with this hotel couldn't have gone better. The staff at the front desk were nothing but genuinely friendly and went well out of their way to provide solid customer.
The room I was in was in the third floor, was perfectly clean, didn't have any peculiar odors, and equipped with everything I needed. TV selection was good, no signal issues, the only odd part being that the remote skipped up or down 2 channels for 1 press of the button. One thing I did appreciate, as this is a pet peave (1st world problem) of mine was when I turned theTV on first thing in the morning or after I returned for the evening, the channel I was watching and the volume I had set it at when I last turned it off was what came up. I hate when they reset up some default setting, especially the volume.
The floor I was on was very quiet at all times, although I was located at the end of the hall, so there was no foot traffic outside my room.
The free breakfast looked good, far better than the corner-cutting "Continental Breakfast" I've seen I the past (although I haven't really seen them as of late, I wonder if any chain still does them), and included a waffle iron, real eggs, bacon, pastries, and fruits. There was a person managing the sou setup and replenishing the selections as they were consumed. Unfortunately both the mornings I was there, I was running late and direct have time to enjoy it. I did grab a to-go bag they had put out for situations just like that, which I very much appreciated. Obviously not as good as being able to sit and eat a hot breakfast, but I was eternally grateful for the fruit, granola bar, and water I found in it.
Checkout was my favorite type the good ole fashioned "receipt slipped under the door at 2:00 or 3:00 AM the last night I stay there" type. Why that's not done by every chain in America baffles me.
Lastly, I accidentally left my work badges in the room after my stay was over and I had left with all my bags that morning. After my day off meetings, I went back and thankfully they had them waiting for me at the front desk. Anyone who knows about work badges knows that it doesn't mastery how great the trip went, losing your badges ruins the...
Read moreCheck in was an absolute nightmare. Initially, because my credit card provided through my work was not working at check-in. I had no choice but to hold the room on a personal credit card until I was able to have my work fix my travel card. I was guaranteed the room would not be charged to my personal card until the day I checked out. Regardless, my credit card provided by my workplace was fixed and within 30 mins of checking in I was downstairs at the front desk removing my personal card from the room to my workplace credit card. Long story short, I woke up the next morning to double charges on both credit cards although I had three more nights reserved at this hotel. The guy at the front desk told me he could not help me and I would have to wait for the manager to come in at 7 to assist me. I waited around for her arrival and she guaranteed me it would be fixed. Tonight is my last night here and the charges have yet to be corrected.
In addition, this place seems to be the hot spot for schools traveling with numerous children. They double them to a room and they have no parental guidance in their room. There’s no way a few adults with 40+ teenagers can monitor them all at the same time on different floors. Children are allowed to stay in rooms on their own in this hotel and run ramped keeping other guests awake all hours of the night. Currently, it is almost 11pm here and I have to get up early for work and I have kids running up and down the hall blowing air horns under doors of guests who are trying to sleep. The front desk lady told me the partial owner will be here in 30 minutes and he can deal with it then. You can’t make this stuff up. If you stay here, plan to get zero sleep. I haven’t slept a bit in the last...
Read moreThe hotel looked nice in the pictures on the website which is why I picked it but it was less than picture perfect. The receptionist was nice and friendly. However, I asked for a top floor room and was place on the 2nd floor. The elevator was old and outdated. The hallway was reminiscent of a horror film, you didn't know what was around the corner. When I got to my room it was fairly decent. However, I discovered the toilet would continually run after you'd flush it and I'd have to lift the lid and fix the ball floater cause it was getting stuck. It seemed too big for the toilet. The tv remote was a joke because it kept getting stuck on dvd so when I'd try to change the channel it wouldn't change until I pressed the TV button each time just to change the channel. The people above me were so loud that I didn't sleep. I don't know if they were fighting or what I just know I was worried and scared something was going to happen cause of the loudness. Then at 9am the house keeping used their keycard and opened my door, luckily I had the additional key lock on so no one can enter. I thought that was pretty rude considering check out is at noon. I paid 108 dollars for this experience when I should have just stayed at home for free. But this was my one night away in 2 years from caring for my 2 elderly parents one who has dementia. My life is filled with stress and this was suppose to be my one night of stress free relaxation and it wasn't. Very disappointing stay. Oh and the shower curtain leaked...
