Ok so. New hotel. Brand spanking new. Never heard of it so decided to take a chance. It is across the street from Meijer, down the street from Wright State and minutes from I-675 and the Fairfield Mall. WPAFB is also very close.
Overall it was a nice stay and worth the price paid.
I'm a bit old school I guess because I was missing a few things. Like a coffee pot and microwave in the room. Also, I like more space. And symmetry!
It is very minimalist meets artsy hipster with a touch of retro. I didn't care to much for the decor myself. Plenty of USB ports in rooms. Tiny desk. Bench. No closet. No bathtub. Bed was very hard but I prefer a more firm bed, so I didn't mind. Only three pillows on a king. I think they were down because I couldn't stop sneezing. The cable was awful... Very limited. The guide started on channel 2 every time and it was also inaccurate.
Breakfast was very standard. I've had better and I've absolutely had worse. My go-to at hotels is usually the yogurt but omg... Their "vanilla" greek yogurt was absolutely disgusting... Nothing vanilla about it. The donut kinda made up for it but I really missed my yogurt. I was quite surprised I didn't see an alternative to cow's milk. I personally didn't care too much for the toppings but my kids would love the candy. There were no utensils for the toppings which was odd... I didn't like that.
The lobby reminded me of a college dorm lobby, which wasn't necessarily a bad thing. We didn't get a chance to play pool. There was a balcony we didn't get to go on. The pool is not heated, rather the room was. The seating is a couch at one end of the pool. They had a decent workout area.
A few things I really didn't like... Vacuuming outside of my room and loud maintenance in the room beside mine. If I'm still in my room at 10am, I just might be asleep. I was. The water took FOREVER to heat up. And the soap. Ok, so I appreciate the concept but I feel like an individual wrapped bar of hand soap is more hygienic.
Staff was really friendly.
Would definitely stay again. I'd bring my own pillow, yogurt...
Read moreThe hotel itself was great! Clean and everything was in proper working order! Solid 5/5 stars! The real part of this hotel that was just amazing was the staff!! If I could give the woman that was working the night we stayed (2/24/24) 100 stars I would. We showed up around check in at 3 and she was so pleasant and had a smile on her face the entire time. A little side note- this hotel was fully booked and it was mainly all youth wrestlers for a tournament the following day probably at least 100 kids there this night.. kids in the hotel love the pool- loved playing Foosball, loved playing games in the lobby and I know it was probably ALOT of hecticness with all the kiddos in the hotel but the worker (whom I'm pretty sure was working literally alone) never had one complaint. We had some room key issues, not sure what was going on but we had to reset our key probably 8 times and every time she apologized and she had nothing to apologize for because it was out of her hands.. she even came to our room to see if she could figure it out. It wasn't a problem to us and we didn't mind at all and she helped us every time the key acted up! She had a completely full house and she was checking people in the entire night & when she wasn't checking people in she was mopping, sweeping, changing trash... doing everything and never stopped smiling! We ended up staying 2 nights.. the second day we was there (2/25/24), there was a different employee who was super nice as well!! The day we checked out (2/26/24) the original woman was back and we thanked her for her hospitality and being so patient and pleasant for our stay!! This hotel hired the right employees for sure! Dayton isn't somewhere we typically vacation to or anything like that but if there is ever a time we will be staying in the area again I will with certainty choose this hotel again & again simply because the staff...
Read moreTerrible and shameful business practices! I stayed at the hotel for a weekend getaway mid-February with my 3 kids. On the final evening, we went down to the pool. Within 20 minutes we were back up in the room and I was frantically showering all 3 kids as they were suffering from chemical burns. I called the front desk to alert them of the situation. After a very long time they answered and put me on hold for quite a while longer. When they finally came back, the front desk person informed me that she was aware and dealing with the situation now. It was a terrible way to end a fantastic weekend. They told me the manager would speak with me personally in the morning. The next morning, I was told the manager would be in after check out. They took a photo copy of my receipt for Children's Benadryl and we left. I also spoke to two other families in the lobby upon checkout in the whose kids had also been burnt the previous night as well. The manager eventually called and said they would refund our stay and the cost of the Benadryl. She also stated the front desk clerk had quit over the chaos of that evening. (Hmm) Anyway, here we are at the end of March, 6 weeks later, and I just received an email saying that I need to contact another company "diffrnt company" to be exact (yes, that's how it was spelled) to receive my refund. The hotel has paid me for the cost of the Benadryl and 1/2 of our stay to date. I doubt I will ever see abother dime from them. What is happening at this makeshift, 4th rate hotel? I will never step foot in a Hilton hotel EVER again after this. They are a disorganized mess, burnt my kids with chemicals and are giving me a global runaround to get my apology refund. It's a joke. I will tell anyone that will listen my story. Terrible and shameful business practices....
