We stayed two separate nights at this motel, one night before the trip after our flight and one night after the trip before our flight in the morning. The first night the room was very poorly cleaned with a cracked bath tub and rolls of toilet paper on the holder that were half empty. We are not high maintenance travelers by any stretch of the imagination and only booked this motel because we were led to believe there is a shuttle service from the airport and the we were misled by the pictures which are deceiving. The first night we thought we would be courteous and just leave without complaining thinking it may just be a fluke. I will give credit where credit is due, the continental breakfast was good and there were no issues with that. However, on the second night, we had a terrible experience. Once we arrived, the smell of marijuana filled the air outside and this lasted the entirety of our stay (which was short lived). We started walking to the room and were approached by two suspicious looking men asking about which room ours was and other uncomfortable questions. I was already in the room at the time and did not hear him talking to the women I was with. This was enough for us to start looking around at other hotels just for the safety aspect, but the room was the cherry on top. If the beds were not made, I would suspect no one went in that room since the last guests left. There were stains on both beds and just about everything was dirty. We did not set our bags down or start unpacking anything. We confirmed there was a room at a nearby hotel and then I went to the front desk. In the workers defense, she did not have much power to help us in this situation, but she did not offer a different room or any compensation. She told me the manager would be in the next morning. I come in the next morning and the manager is not there, but I do give my phone number to the worker there and was told the manager would call by 11 to talk about the stay. 11:30 rolls around and I decide to call. It rang until eventually I could leave a voicemail. I hung up and dialed *67 before their number so they were not able to see who was calling and they picked up on the second ring. I finally get through to the manager about the room and after an email chain with pictures of the room, I do get a refund. Save yourself the headache and trouble and just book with a hotel or at least a better motel than this one. If you do decide to book here, I recommend documenting the lack of housekeeping when you first go in just in case you want to seek any sort of compensation. Regarding the topic of responses from the hotel manager, I have two issues. One is that all of the problems we have experienced, multiple people have also experienced from these reviews and although management promises to fix these issues, there was nothing improved whenever we stayed. Secondly, every response is written by ChatGPT which I find both comical and lazy. The only part not written by AI in all of them is the sincerely, hotel manager. Just thought I would throw that out there as well.
In conclusion, please reconsider booking this motel. Is safety and comfort really worth saving...
Read moreI stayed here for one night January 12th to 13th morning. I arrived at 3:40 PM and the exterior of the building was nice and clean in a safe secluded area. The location was kind of odd, GPS made me come in with a right hand turn everytime. The road is sort of right off the highway so you had to go underneath and around the highway to get into that right turn. I’m not sure if the road was a one way or not. The lady at the front desk was nice and helpful. I am 20 and this hotel made an exception for me to stay at under 21, which was very kind. I did have to call and explain my circumstances beforehand and the kind employee left a note on my account that I was under 21 and would be checking in. Still in the exterior, there was a pool. The pool was very clean, freshly stocked towels out near it, and a rope divider between the deep end and shallow end. The pool was pretty cold but it was 78 outside on that day, so we still swam and it was bearable once you got used to it. Now, the rooms are kind of a different story, specifically the bathrooms. The bed area and futon were really nice. The mattress was really soft and the pillows were too. It all seemed clean and made up well. The microwave was clean and bedside tables. But, the bathroom was kind of disgusting. Mainly the smell. My bathroom smelled like someone had gone poop basically the entire time. Also, there is a previous review about little tiny brown bugs and we did see those in the bathroom coming out of the sink drain. (Maybe 10 I saw altogether? They were very tiny). I was upstairs in room 238. I tried to keep the sink drain closed so none crawled out. There were also at least 3 knats in the bathroom too. The shower drain had hair in it too. The shower itself, toilet, and sink were clean even though the bathroom smelled. The shower was hot, the water pressure wasn’t great. They left us plenty of towels and the mirror was very nice lighting. That’s pretty much it about the rooms. Breakfast was a packed nightmare (usually at hotels). Pancakes were make it urself and the rest was just normal cereal and toast which was also make it yourself. There were plenty of scrambled eggs cooked. There was a juice machine, it had apple juice, orange juice, and something else. The apple juice was good, I didn’t eat any of the breakfast. My friend had the yogurt and it was pretty good. Checkout was easy I just had to give back my keys and that was it. I saw one person had issues with refunding their deposit in the reviews. I haven’t had my deposit back yet so if I have any issues with that I’ll make sure to update this review. Definitely overall 3/5. If ur not super ocd about cleanliness in the bathrooms then you’ll definitely enjoy your stay. The service was great and all the employees were accommodating and...
Read moreOK, many hotels try to bill you an extra surcharge, and there is fine print in the reservation that allows them to add on as much as they want, for any reason whatsoever. But in all my years of extensive travel, I just ask to have it removed and the custom is that they do it without a hassle. Sometimes they need a reminder at checkout, but I have NEVER had a hotel insist on billing me the surcharge.
This was the exception. The sign-in document lists the surcharge all right, and they don't even bother with an excuse such as "in-room safe" or "telephone access", just "surcharge". I mentioned to the check-in clerk that I did not want to pay the surcharge and she said no problem, just mention it at checkout; to avoid any misunderstanding, I crossed out the surcharge paragraph on the registration.
At checkout however, the person at the desk (manager?) insisted on leaving the charge on my credit card, and that the fine print on the reservation page allowed him to do so. He said he didn't care about the agreement when I checked in, or the crossed-out clause on the registration page. I asked him if he thought it was a smart thing to upset the customers to get the extra money and he said he thought it was worth it.
I don't know if this is a new policy at Quality Inns, or all Choice hotels, but like I've said, I've never seen this elsewhere. Beware.
This hotel is for someone who wants a cheap room and isn't too picky. This was the second (but last) time I stayed here. The bed was OK and they provide a hot breakfast, being a Quality Inn. The eggs were dried out and the meat shrivelled up a bit, but it tasted OK. In the room (211), the carpet was old and stained; you wouldn't want to walk on it in bare feet. The sink stopper didn't work so you couldn't fill the sink. The deadbolt in the door would stick in the locked position so you had to fiddle with it to get the door closed again. I couldn't get the main light switch to work so I had to go into the dark room to turn on some of the other lights. Finally the clock radio was unusable; not that it didn't tell time, but it didn't have the usual controls, only 5 buttons for doing everything. I have used hundreds of hotel clock radios before, but I just couldn't figure out how to work this one, not even close. I gave up after 10 minutes of fiddling. There were no instructions on the radio or anywhere in the room.
If you want to save money by putting up with a run-down place, just remember that the management reserves the right to charge you more, regardless of what is said at check-in. You have other choices. Now I have the hassle of contacting my credit card company to dispute the charges....
