Firstly I will preface this review with the fact that this is the first 1 star review I have ever written. The main issue here is customer service.
As we collected our checked bag from the airport and headed to the shuttle pick up area we called the hotel to request the shuttle and they told us that it was on the way and gave us the location to wait. We waited for the shuttle for 20mins and it did not show up. We called to inquire about the eta of the shuttle and we were told that it was filled at other terminal pick up points and that it would be coming back to the airport to pick us up. We waited another 20 minutes. I called again as from when I checked google maps the time to arrive at the pick up point from the hotel should have been within 20 minutes. I was told that it would arrive in another 10-15 minutes. The shuttle arrived 20 minutes later.
When the shuttle arrived we went to get on the shuttle behind 2 other passengers that were also getting on the driver apologized to those passengers and as we started to talk to him to say that we were going to the hotel as well he quickly became much more stern and rude getting me to show him my hotel reservation even though the couple ahead of us were not made to show their reservation. To be clear I was polite even though this was an unreasonable situation so such behaviour from the driver was totally unwarranted.
We got on the shuttle and it drove around the airport to pick up more passengers and finally ended up at the hotel 1 hour later. This meant that it took a whole 2 hours to arrive at the hotel from when we first called to request the shuttle. For those who have continued to read up to this point I highly recommend that you request an eta on the first call. If it is unknown or vague, I suggest taking an uber instead to avoid the hassle until the hotel management address this issue.
When we arrived at the hotel we all exited the vehicle and moved to the back to get our luggage. The couple that was ahead of us was ready to get their luggage and as I waited behind them to get mine I was surprised from a sudden stern demand that I get my luggage now. I went and got the luggage quickly and was surprised from the situation as I was patiently waiting to allow the couple ahead to take their luggage and then I would grab mine. Again I made no rude comments about the situation and this was entirely unexpected and not provoked.
The driver seemed to signal me and my fiancée out and was being rude to us and courteous with the other guests. This whole situation made the first day of our vacation stressful and we felt very unwelcome. I hope this will be resolved and that a similar incident does not happen to any other guest. Thank you for taking the time to read...
Read moreThis place was horrible. I only needed a place for 12hrs before our cruise…sleeping in the airport would have been preferable. First the manager is “special”…rude and frankly does not care whatsoever nor will address the companies mistakes. I booked in months in advance for the early rate…it was supposed to be pre-paid…hotel apparently never ran my card. A few weeks ago my credit card was hacked and the bank sent me a new one. Didn’t think I had to worry about the hotel bc it was prepaid earlier. NOPE!!! They never ran my card and the manager said she didn’t know why they never did it at that time for the pay early non refundable rate. So at 3:53pm the day before I was checking in I got an email from them that my credit card declined. I never saw that email bc I was hustling to get ready for the trip. At 1:30 the day I’m due to check in she calls me…drop my phone as I’m trying to answer but called her back within minutes. FYI…she didn’t leave a voicemail…I just called back the Orlando number that called me assuming it was about our trip. I’d have otherwise had no idea there was an issue with our hotel. So they cancelled my reservation bc the card declined but still said they had a room for me but they could no longer honor the price I previously had…RIDICULOUS! You didn’t do your job, admitted your team messed up with charging my card, send and email the day before but no phone call, phone call hours before I was due to arrive to basically tell me I should be thankful they can still accommodate me.
Rooms themselves…not the worst but they lie…they don’t have queen beds. They are full size…two adults around 175lbs each felt squished in that bed. The pillows are even half size…like what you’d expect for couch throw pillows. We stayed on 5…ice machine not working. Went to 4….no ice and vending room gross, went to three found ice but that entire floor was beyond sticky….enough so that you could hear your sneakers trying to stick to the carpet! Breakfast…basic free breakfast but the place is nasty. I get tables and floors being dirty during breakfast but the fridge with the yogurt need to a solid cleaning, the pastry holder needs to go in a dishwasher. There is a sticky/slimy film on the surface of everything!
Checkin was a pain in the tush…I had to go downstairs three times bc they kept giving us cards that didn’t work. Not a great welcome at newly 11pm after a day of travel.
If you are used to cheap shitty hotels this place will do what you need. If you want cleanliness, a decent property manager, and ppl who do their jobs right go...
Read moreWe were very impressed with this first-time stay. The lobby is bright and airy where the business center is located directly across the front desk by the floor-to-ceiling windows. Our suite was not ready but Tatiana offered the option of a similar room on a lower floor. We decided to wait for our preference and asked if we could use the breakfast area for our meeting to which she heartily agreed. Because breakfast was over we had the entire area to ourselves so I was able to push tables together and move chairs around to form a conference room setting to our liking since we had multiple boxes of documents that had to be sorted and compiled prior to the meeting. After our meeting I put all tables and chairs back to their original position. By the time our suite was ready I had the 'conference room' set up and ready for work. Our suite was very spacious with a floating wall that separated the sitting area with sofa and chair (see pics in Trip Advisor). The bed linens, towels and even the appliances were immaculately clean. I will follow this hotel chain for life as long as the accommodations and amenities are as clean as they were on this trip. We had plenty of towels and the bed and pillows were very comfortable with extras in the closet. The accessible features included an extra wide bathroom entrance, plenty of grab handles and a portable tub seat. The floor passed my 'footies test' and I was very comfortable walking around the room in them without slippers. Even the hair dryer had been cleaned out of all foreign hairs. I absolutely love this attention to detail and housekeeping should be commended and rewarded! Amenities included 32" flat screen TV, iron, microwave and mini frig which was pretty quiet as was the A/C unit. The desk lamp had extra outlets and an USB port. At breakfast the next day I was downstairs at 5:55 a.m. and was impressed that the breakfast room attendant (Kelli?) was very friendly, made sure everything was ready at 6 a.m. sharp, constantly kept menu items stocked and tables clean. Because the staff was so accommodating, we really felt like valued guests and will consider this CS for future business meetings and leisure visits. Check out was easy and we were invited to return soon. We would definitely recommend this hotel for whatever brings you to Orlando. You will not be...
