Walked in and the first thing that hit us was the smell of what I can only describe as overused cleaning chemicals and used gym shorts that had been laying on the floor for two weeks. (Strike 1). We were sitting there tired from traveling and decided to watch TV. It didn't work by not being connected to the internet. (Strike 2) Tried calling the front desk but the phone wasn't working even though it was connected to the wall. No dial tone, nothing, like the feeling of helplessness entering my soul with nobody to call for help (Strike 3) I had to call the front desk from my cell phone. The front desk guy(who was very nice and friendly) came to our room to try and help with the TV, but the first thing out of his mouth was, "I really don't know how to fix it but I'll try." Come to find out they had replaced all the tvs in the hotel with new ones but failed to connect them to the internet. (Is a strike 4 possible?) His solution was to tell me his shift was over but he'll go to an empty room to continue to try and get the TV connected and to have me continue trying as well. Said he'd come back shortly. I gave up trying to fix it. Not my job. (Ummm Strike 5!) He returned 30 minutes later to inform me of his failure to connect just as exactly as the hotel's failure to connect with my satisfaction was growing. (OH why not Strike 6! Do I call it 2 outs) By this time we had already decided to book an Airbnb. They were able to accommodate us and had the house ready for us within 15 minutes. I took the financial hit of a bit over $100 for our 2.5 hours stay. Got an apology from the young lady at the front desk. No attempt to offer to compensate me for the bad experience. I was all out of strikes to give. All I can do is use this platform to be a warning to others wanting to stay here. We left and will...
Read moreWe booked online, paid $1 online for breakfast in the morning for the 2 of us. They had eggs, potatoes and sausage links. They had yogurt from a machine and a few other things. The coffee was from a machine that offered several choices, like Mocha coffee, which I prefer. The room was clean and the TV was very big with over 100 channels, but the guide didn't show all of the channels so that was annoying. The remote wasn't very responsive to flip through the channels which is annoying for me, but we only stayed one night so that's good. I felt safe there, even though the freeway was right there. If you're outside, there was aot if freeway noise, but insi, it was quiet. I liked that they had blackout shades so it was very dark durng the day, but you had the choice of a lighter shade if that's what you prefer. They had an ice machine, soft drink vending, some very overpriced things and snacks they sold at the check in counter. I have stayed at many, many hotels, as I travel a lot for my job. I am a smoker. I've been to many hotels that do not have a place for smokers to sit down or provide shade. It makes me feel discrminated again. This place has what was sort of a wrap around porch feel to it. They had 2 rocking chairs on both sides of the entrance door. One had a trash can/smoker's deal on top to put out your cigarette, the other did not and it was fully shaded. I was very grateful for this and happy that I could sit in the shade from the Texas sun and relax while I smoked, instead of standing out in the sun like other places I've been. The bed was comfortable, had 4 pillows, a microwave, mini fridge and an alarm clock. I don't have any complaints...
Read moreThe hotel looks nice from the outside but it was not. The ac was covered in visible dust that we had to remove ourselves (with alcohol wipes) as there was no maid service or maintenance available at 3pm on a Saturday. If we wouldn't of cleaned it ourselves dust would've flown throughout the room and it still did some. I went through a half a package of wipes and there was also human hair in the dust, disgusting! There was also a stain on the sheet and a long thick hair on the display towel in the bathroom. The unit was overall very dusty and musty, we opened the windows for a couple hours. Bring your own pillows they are lumpy but the bed/sheets were comfortable. There was suppose to be a free breakfast (in to-go bags/covid-style) and coffee, but when going to check-out at 11am the owner said, only coffee in your room. With no water bottles. Maybe breakfast was over but no signs of it being available. Also there was a wedding party and we had to go out the back side door to car as only half were wearing masks and hanging on main staircase like it was reserved. Poor was green water half full and beer cans every where glad my kids forgot their bathing suits. The owner ended up giving us a 50% credit for the night after complaining which was fair. I still would not stay here again even as a Best...
