It has taken me a few weeks to even post this, because it was such an awful experience. One star is too many!!......
I saw an ad offering haircuts for $7.99 and thought this would be a good time to go with my daughter as I desperately needed a trim and she has been wanting to cut her hair short. We went to the one closest to us in Bellmead TX. I went in on Feb 7th at around 7pm. I was treated by a man who was not wearing a name tag and he took my information and then said he could cut my daughters hair. I showed him several pictures and then he said the other lady there was better at that style and she would cut my daughters hair and he would cut mine. I told him I only wanted a trim and a little layering to my hair. So first, he didnt wet my hair. He kind of lightly sprayed it with a bottle then attempted to brush it, but because its half wet half dry he couldnt get a comb through it. He spent a lot of time trying to comb through it but mostly it was just ripping out hair and breaking off a lot of the ends. So then he just started cutting without even getting a comb through thoroughly. Then I had to tell him to stop because he never even did the part down the middle of my hair and my part was super crooked and not even in a straight line. He cut way more off the ends then I had originally asked for close to 5 inches. Then he just started grabbing sections and lifting it up to make "layers" but he didnt even pull it all up, just chunks and just cut it straight across not even at an angle to create the blended layer. He only did this with the top of my hair and never brought it down to blend in with the lower sections of hair. He also did not even gather ALL of the hair on top but just seemed to grab at sections. All of this was done with my hair half wet near the roots but the ends completely dry.
I wanted to cry. I wanted to make a scene and ask if he even had his license, but I couldnt. I had my 7 year old daughter with me who was so excited that it was a girls night together and that she was finally getting her hair cut. I would have completely ruined her night. On top of my horrific hair cut, my daughters haircut was not even what I asked for. I wanted an A line and I gave several pictures as examples. Her hair does not look at all like I showed, but simply just a little higher right in the middle of the back of her head. When she stands straight, it just looks like it was cut uneven. I cant tell her that her hair looks bad. Shes so happy to have a new haircut.
I havent stopped crying since I got home and I'm scared to even have anyone try and fix it, because he cut off so much more than I wanted, it will end up even shorter if I attempt to have it fixed. I really really regret choosing Great Clips for what seemed like an easy haircut to request. I guess the saying "you get what you pay for" rings true with your business and I learned the hard way.
I called corporate and was advised it is a franchise, but they would have the franchise owner contact me. I received an email from someone stating they were the Manager offering to fix what was done. The email did not come from a company email ,just some random gmail. There is NO WAY I would even consider going in to have work done there. 2 people on the same day ruined both my daughter's, and my hair. I'm not trusting a...
Read moreI took my three boys in for haircuts this evening and I had my service dog with me. As soon as I walked in the door, an older African American lady with shoulder length hair who later identified herself as Amy Green, yelled at me and said that dogs aren’t allowed in the salon. I politely let her know that my dog is a service animal, but she then stated that it didn’t matter and that I needed to get her out. I then continued by politely informing her that it is against American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) state and federal laws to not allow my service animal to remain with me while my children got their hair cut.
She then got quiet and stopped talking until my youngest son was called to the chair by another stylist and i went over with my service dog to make sure she knew how we wanted it cut. Amy Green was cutting another customer’s hair and proceeded to tell me that I needed to take my dog back over to the waiting area because she doesn’t like dogs.
My Cousin who is a Military Veteran had been with me, but ran into HEB to grab a few things and soon joined me with her two service dogs. Amy Green began yelling at my cousin as well telling her to get her dogs out of the salon. Another customer soon joined in and they both began berating my cousin and I stating that we didn’t need our service animals and that it was all a joke. At one point, Amy Green stated that she knows for a fact that our dogs are too stupid to be service animals. She then kept encouraging my cousin to call the police as if to taunt her. The other two stylists in the salon who later identified themselves as Teenisha and Terry were very helpful and very much attempted to keep the peace.
After being berated in front of my young children, my cousin then contacted the Bellmead police Dept. to be able to make a statement so that we can make a report to ADA.
My family has been going to this establishment for a few years now and I wish that I could say that this was the first time something like this has happened, but unfortunately I cannot. There are some good people that work at this salon, but today my family witnessed a terrible side of humanity.
I was able to speak with the general manager who was very understanding and stated that she plans to talk to Amy Green because what she said and did was unacceptable behavior. She also stated that she plans to talk to the owner and hopes to offer me some complimentary hair cuts.
That all sounds great, but I’m honestly terrified to take my...
Read moreI've been here on two separate occasions. The first time was several months ago, and the lady cut one randomly super short layer into my hair before I knew what she was doing. My hair is shoulder length. She cut one layer that fell to the middle of my ear on just half of my head. The ends were also super uneven. I went today, again, after first searching around town for any other nearby place that would take a walk in. Eventually I figured maybe I just got a bad stylist last time. On I went. A teenage guy took my name and printed a receipt for the stylist after asking if I'd ever been in before. I didn't know what it was for at first, but I was able to glance at it after she had the bib on and was about to start cutting without even talking to me. It was instructions for the same cut I had last time. So, obviously, I stopped her. I told her what I wanted. The cut I got from her was not nearly as bad as the first one, but it could have been. My bangs now have random long, stray pieces of hair that she insisted would just have to be like that because I "didn't have much bangs". I part my hair to the right side. My bangs fall to the right. She almost cut ANOTHER set of bangs for me AT MY EAR on the other side of my head before I stopped her. She was also about to leave the right side of my hair more than an inch longer than the left. I gave up after asking her to try to fix that. It's still about a half an inch off. This entire experience took slightly less than ten minutes. During that time, she lazily called out "Hi...Great Clips..." when another customer would walk through the door. It felt very much like she was just robotically going through the motions without ever stopping to remotely consider what the end result...
