I went to sonic with my mom and grandma to grab something before hitting the highway home. We ordered our food and on all the burgers/sandwiches, there was supposed to be extra mayonnaise on both sides of the patty. The person, who turns out to be the manager/“owner” on duty, named Michael, begin to rush us while we placed our order and would cut us off when we corrected him. He stated that they were having a lunch rush and trying their best to handle business during the pandemic, but that’s no excuse for rushing customers who are placing an order. We’re finished ordering and our food is being delivered, we check the burgers to find out the only one Burger had extra mayonnaise on both sides and asked to speak with the manager on duty. The manage on duty comes out side and offers to correct our order only for the “owner” Michael to come out and talk over the manager telling us he personally took our order and that he made it correct, but he didn’t. After the manager and owner volunteered to remake the burgers, he changed his mind and began to argue with us about our order again; at this point, my mom asked for a refund and he said he wouldn’t refund us because the order was right and we were rude. He proceeded to tell us to leave without giving us a refund before going into the restaurant and coming back packets of mayonnaise telling us he would like to still please us, the customers, WITHOUT giving us a refund. At this point, the mayo wasn’t the problem, but his poor manners and how he handled issues as a manager/owner. He returned a third time with the packets of mayo and his card telling us he would like to fix the problem, but at this point, my mom called to the police to help get a refund, which we still didn’t get. My grandma told her to let it go and we left. Everyone outside of the owner/manager (Michael) were very helpful but we will not be coming back due to how rude and unprofessional Michael was. My card had 4.41 on it today, So I give my card and a dime and said here's a dime to put toward the total then run the rest on my card. They tell me that they do not do multiple payments like every other place. They can't take cash and card at the same time. So now I'm short 2 cents for my drink. Your manager said I needed to pay it all in cash or give the drink back. I said you're just going to throw it away. He says yes but that's the right thing to do... I've worked management a lot in my life and that's definitely not the right thing to do 1. It's food cost a waste that does not need to happen over 2 cents. 2. Its costing you even more if you have a customer that comes on the daily and spends $4.43, and now they rather go to a different location because a big deal was made over 2 cents. Since your manager could not come up with a reasonable way for this to happen, I told him take the ice off of my order then run my card. There will be enough to cover it then charge me the 33 cents for a glass of ice and I'll pay that in cash. I ended up with my drink, my ice and my opinion of your managers even lower than I thought it could be. However, two of the CarHop employees were very nice and understanding. The female was the original helping me and then the male offered to pay cash out of his own tip so I could get my drink.
