Los Compadres Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Lacy Lakeview

This was the absolute worst excuse for food I have been served in a restaurant in a long time. It has no seasoning, not even salt, and absolutely zero flavor. The "steak" in my friends burrito was mostly gristle, my quesadilla appeared to have been made with chicken jerky, and the tostada had some sort of strange, unseasoned ground mystery meat on it. I swear that queso came out of a can, it was watery and flavorless. I'm not sure what in the dry fried rice confusion was going on with the sides.

The service was atrocious. We had three different servers come to our table and not a single one smiled or offered us water, and all three were rude and acted put out by anything we asked. None of them asked if we wanted to order drinks or appetizers, we had to flag them down to ask for them. The restaurant was almost empty, easy to see why.

Even the drinks didn't redeem them as they were weak, poorly made, overpriced, and served with such a short straw that you had to violate your glass every time you wanted a sip. I can not stress enough how disappointing this entire experience was...and with the audacity to cost almost $25/person with one entree, one drink, a small queso split between two, no water, and chips we...

I had a $70 order which i specifically asked her for two cheese orders and she even let me know that they had different ounces so i let her know i wanted the small one. I picked up the order, came home and the cheese wasn’t in there. She also had only rung up one drink instead of three, which they were three of the same drinks makes no sense to get that wrong & they even gave me a different tortilla that i asked for with a soup. We had ate already and i called back saying we were missing an order of cheese and they said i need to get my bag again because they are not over on an order of cheese and they wouldn’t mess that up. The guy couldn’t find me order and basically said he cant do anything about it because he knows they didn’t mess up. He said he spoke with the manager to see what they can do and he declined to helo us with anything. I asked for my money back because i didn’t even receive the cheese and he said no. Absolutely horrible & careless customer service. I haven’t been to this place since they changed names. You would think we spend over $70 dollars they would not cheap out on a $4 cheese we never got but they way it was handled also is...

When this was the Mexicano Grill #8, we loved it! The management was friendly, they had daily specials, drink specials, and I believe the food was a better. We thought they were closing for a major remodel, but the only noticeable improvement was re-upholstery of the booths. I think they are under different ownership now. Most of the menu items are the same, but the prices went up. We've ordered breakfast, lunch, and dinner since the change and, while the food is okay, it's not like it used to be. Update--I went in to pick up a takeout order since the family wanted Mexican food and this place was the closest to home at that time of night. Beware that some prices ring up on the register more than what is printed on their "new" menu; in my case, it was $19.99 instead of $17.99.They have no problem charging you more. Also, they forgot to put the beans, sour cream, and grated cheese with my to-go order. What I got tasted great but I guess I should have opened the bag and gone through the entire order...
