LISTEN TO ME ... I'm someone who rarely ever leaves reviews, but I feel this time after the one night my son and I stayed at this hotel I needed to share the experience we had so others know the truth and aren't swayed but obvious fake positive reviews. |Checking into our king bed room and walking to our room, the carpet was easy to notice how dirty it was and hasn't been cleaned in quite some time. We took the stairs up two flights and the stairwell had such a strong urine smell we had to hold our breath the rest of the way up the stairs to our floor. The room itself seemed pretty clean so I don't have any major complaints in that regard but soon found out the toilet didn't flush after a few tries. An inconvenience for sure but not the end of the world, things happen. I went down to front desk and explained the issue and told the guy at front desk that we we're in a rush since my son had a hockey tournament that evening and into the following morning and that we had to leave in 10-15 mins, so I was fine changing rooms quick so our room can be settled once we return later that night to sleep. He gave us a similar room next door, but I took note he didn't apologize or seem too bothered by the toilet issue. He did tell me that for this new room, after applying the key card, u needed to pull the door towards u and then push to get in. So he clearly knew this was an ongoing problem with this particular room but staff clearly had no plans to fix it. As I said we were in a rush so we packed up our stuff and went next door to the new room. It took at least 15 tries of using the key card, pulling on the door, and pushing with all my weight to finally get in. We dropped off our stuff and left the hotel in order to get to his hockey game, me knowing full well in the back of my mind we'd have to deal with this door issue again when we return later. |Once we returned with to-go food in our hands, it again took a good 10-12 tries with the door to get into the room. As my son is unpacking and sitting down to eat his food, I try to lock the deadbolt, hoping to just relax for the rest of the night since I wouldn't have to deal with the door issue anymore after checking out tomorrow. The deadbolt won't fully extend into the door frame, no matter how hard I pushed or pulled, trying to line it up. I did this for a good 10-15 mins without success. I again went down to front desk, encountered the same man from before and explained the new issue, now growing more frustrated. Once again, no apology. He signals to a maintenence worker nearby to go up with me to see the issue. We go up and as I show him the issue with the door, he doesn't attempt to address it himself, just says "ok" and walks out the room, and continues walking away while saying "come down to front desk then." Before going back to front desk, I briefly look at the door again and notice the secondary swing lock mechanism at the top of the door is barely secured into the door, screws halfway turned out. I told my son, we can't stay in this room, we have to move again since I don't feel safe. We pack our stuff up, again, and head down to front desk, with our belongings in hand. To my dismay, the same front desk employee tells me the dead bolt doesn't need to be used and they don't work in a lot of the rooms cause the key card is needed to enter so its perfectly safe that way. I stared at him blankly and just said "what!?" No way I thought he could be serious but he in fact was so I told him this is a security issue and unacceptable, telling him its impossible he felt this is normal. It's literally the first thing I do after getting into our room at any hotel, making sure the door and deadbolt are functional. AGAIN, not once has he apologized. I asked again for another room that is clean with a working deadbolt. He said they had no more similar rooms available except the original one with the toilet issue. I asked, was the toilet issue fixed. Of course not, he said they could send the same maintenence guy up now. I said that its late and my son and I want to relax, I don't want maintenence in my room for who knows how long to fix this problem. But I just curiously asked why didnt u address the toilet issue hours ago when I told him about it. He just shrugged and mumbled something. At this point it seemed obvious that he could just offer me a double queen room or even upgrade for all our troubles. But no, after me asking for just a double queen room he said he couldn't unless we paid the upcharge for this room. I couldn't believe he was serious but after arguing with him me and being so bothered by him having no remorse, he finally caved and offered a double queen on the first floor. |We got into our 3rd room, very frustrated with the treatment. Room was pretty clean again so no real complaints there. At this point its after 10 o'clock so we laid down to eventually go to bed and to me the bed just felt small. I know what a king, queen, and full bed size mattress feels like since all my kids have full size at home, while my wife and I have a king. Knowing king and queen have the same length I knew this staff lied to me and gave me a double full bed room since I'm about 6'2" and my feet hung off the bed when full stretched out. At this point I had no energy left to fight with the hotel and staff, we were tired and eventually fell asleep. |I do apologize for the length of this review but I needed everyone to hear the entire experience. DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL! Hallways smell, stairwell reeks of urine and the staff have zero customer service awareness and couldn't care less about their guests. Do not give this hotel a second of consideration...
Read moreI travel for work and usually travel solo. I looked online at a number of properties before selecting this one. I typically look at the booking sites and also Trip Advisor before selecting a property. I've found those sources to be reasonably reliable. I was a bit hesitant about this property, however, I rolled the dice and I am not disappointed. The average scores which I read were about in the 6.5-7 range, with some lower and some higher. I've traveled a great deal for work and I will also incorporate the overall value for what you get into my evaluations. The property is reasonably inexpensive and clean. I usually begin my work before the breakfast is served, however I did have an opportunity to experience it once during my 5 night stay, and I found it perfectly adequate and with a good amount of variety and options. Eggs and sausage were also available as a hot food choice, at no extra fee. The breakfast is entirely available with no additional fees. My stay has been during warm weather Autumn and I have not been visiting the outdoor pool as it is closed for the season. The exercise facility seems adequate and again, I have not had the opportunity to use it. My King room was equipped with a work station with lighting, which I also used as a dining table. A comfortable desk chair was provided. The room also has a accent chair with ottoman. There are 7 individually controlled lights/lamps in the living area, and also lighting and exhaust fan in the adjacent bathroom. The air conditioning unit operates flawlessly and as quietly as any individual room unit I've ever experienced. Other reviews may take issue with worn accent chairs and ottoman, however, I am not of the opinion that is hugely significant. Room carpet is worn, however, clean, no odors or noticable stains. The king bed is comfortable and more than adequate. I say this while comparing it to my home king bed which is high end. No brag or flex here, just to provide perspective. The water pressure in the shower is quite adequate and I have no complaints. My room was equipped with a small microwave and a small dorm room type refrigerator/freezer. If you like to bring your own warm up home cooked meals and water and beverages, I would recommend a cooler to provide some additional cold storage. I've found the staff to be very pleasant and accommodating. Overall, my personal rating is a good 7.5-8 based also on value. Areas for improvement would be better lighting in the parking lots. Also, I should point out that my room was on the back of the property, which insulated me from any highway noise, and I was on the 3rd floor, which is the top floor, so no noise from overhead guests. I don't have any honest complaints about the experience. My discounted rate was well below $100 per night. My stay was Sunday night through till Friday morning. No weekend stay involved, and that certainly can have an impact on rates and occupancy of the property. If you are seeking luxury, pay a little more, and enjoy it. If you are a seasoned working traveler, it's a great deal. I have already booked another work week stay, and likely will continue to enjoy...
Read moreShould be called the UNCOMFORTABLE INN. Location is terrible right on Roosevelt Blvd. By route 132 see photos. Be careful leaving the parking lot. My room was on the Roosevelt Blvd side. You can hear the traffic plain as day so its sleep with the TV and bathroom fan on. Traffic dies down after midnight with only the occasional semi. I did give three stars for service cause they did turn down the bed but I think they only do that to monitor your room because of the transient population they serve. My main issue was one I couldn't see my car out the window and more importantly I couldn't keep from interacting with other guests because my room key didn't work and this guy offered to "HELP". In fairness he probably was sincere but after observing another helper at the tire filling station at the Sunoco next to the parking lot I really did not want to talk to anyone so we sort of got into it. Sorry dude. After another 5 minutes of trying to get in I went to front desk and got new room keys so 3 stars. I guarantee you that you will not be able to keep from interacting with other guests. Perhaps it will be the man who needed a jump from me at the front door as I was checking out, see photos. Interaction is the mentality there or as the guy I got into with said; "Don't talk to me ever again if I see you in the hallway." Why would I want to anyway but thats the mentality at this place. Bottom line is if your a woman or family don't even think about staying here and generally avoid the Feasterville/Trevose area all together. I will be. If you like Comfort Inn the one in Horsham was ok last year but farther away. I paid 100 a night at both a year apart. In short the Comfort Inn Roosevelt Blvd. is a place that caters to the weekly transient crowd and a place to avoid. Finally I wish to say that I told management when I got the new room keys that unless they knock something off my bill they would get a nasty review like this. They of course blew me off but don't say you weren't told. The morning girl was also told but she was only an underling so I only mentioned it. That was right before. The guy asked me for a jump. In closing I wish to say that the Comfort Inn corporation seriously consider shuttering this place if possible before these sons of an RSS officer franchising this place get someone killed on the premises and the parent...
