Do not go to "Quality" Inn in Bensalem off Street Rd. After several stays (and I do mean several) they decided to ban me, because I wrote a review complaining about the front desk guy. This is after I said on the review that I would never book there again. First, I booked because either work was being done on my house, or I had business in the area. Second, there is no special accomodations, and the front desk staff is horrible (for the exception of the gm's wife, and another lady). Well, the last time I went, I only booked for one night. The next day, finding I still had to do work in the area, I booked again(online). As usual, i went down to the desk, and this guy (Sammi) that's always there, and doesn't say anything, (and I don't say anythhing to him) but I did say, I booked again. He took my credit card, and my room keys and did the transaction, and I went to get my coffee. He came over and said he booked at the hotel rate, since I didn't say I booked online. I said, I most certainly did say that, and he knows I always book online. So, I said well am I getting the rate I booked at or not? He gave me the idea that the reservation was canceled, so I just went up and got my stuff and left. I later find out the reservation was not canceled! I got my money back, but it took more than a few days. And then they sent me the standard review, so I mentioned this was poor customer service, and that this guy should be more considerent (as it is, he lives there). Next thing I know I get an email (probably from Sammi) saying you are banned, go somewhere else to make my nest! I replied back excuse me? I already said I would never book there again, and this certainly isn't my nest, considering he's the one that's rude, and most people there are families with no homes. So, I ask for an apoligy, nothing. I call corporate, write and nothing. The police are always there, and there wass a recent report of a guy selling drugs in the lot, hitting a police car. The housekeepers are nice, but they do not have enough to truly clean the place. The carpets in the hallway should of been replaced years ago! There are bureaus in the hallways that are filled with junk. Pretty much I wouldn't recommend this place to my...
Read moreThree star review - why? Honestly this is a 1 1/2 star hotel at best, but the PRICE was fantastic. I hate reviews when they slam a place but got it dirt cheap. So, I’ll be as fair as possible.
Check-in: Super friendly woman (younger) at the front desk. Very welcoming, smiling, and even thank me for my military service.
Lobby: during Covid, there is generally nothing any more at any hotels (no coffee, no breakfast for the morning, etc). Parking was ample with a large lot, appears to be in a clean and safe area, no rif-raf hanging outside. Nice and lite up.
Room: Very dated and ensure you ask for a non smoking room. I believe this is my fault and I did not click on the right one on the app. This should be asked when checking in. Not bad, but I could smell a faint smoke smell but I dealt with it. Room was clean and HVAC/TV all worked with no issues. Mini fridge and microwave, no concerns. Bedding was clean and bed was sort of comfortable.
Bathroom: This needs a super deep cleaning and “New Caulk.” That’s my pet peeve at hotels as caulk is cheap at hardware store. Take a puffy knife and scrap all that old caulk out every year. Put new caulk at $4.00 bucks a tube and make it look white and clean. It gets mild on it - there is nothing you can do and this happens in homes. Do not caulk over mild caulk as it will bleed through and be black again. Just scrap it out; scrub the tub n shower; and recaulk it with white. It will look clean and inviting.
Overall - I paid $58 bucks with taxes for a last minute check in got a work trip (but I have to pay out of pocket - factored into my salary - I save money it benefits me). For the money, I’d stay here my once a week when I come into Philly all the time after this Covid ends. Again - be REAL and understand you get what you pay for. Me - I’d rather be at a 1-2 star hotel as long as I get sleep and save the money for something nice. I’m not here on vacation - that’s what Hilton are for at $200 bucks a night.
Just have your housekeeping “deep clean” several rooms a day and inspect them. Don’t rely on the ten mins and out...ensure they are doing some deep deep cleaning and this hotel will remain a...

My wife and I booked a 2 bed suite. The first room we were given was dirty with debris on the floor a sticky bathroom floor and hair in the bed and a makeup smear on the pillow. They switched us to another room, debris on the floors a sticky bathroom floor, used toilet paper in the toilet and a candy bar wrapper on the living room floor. Then they gave us a 3rd room and similar conditions also including a dead roach on the floor and that's when we went to the front desk and canceled our reservation and got our points back and went down the road to another hotel.
Before I became a police officer 24 years ago. I use to work for the phone company. I use to work in Newark NJ a lot. In some houses and especially in the projects as soon as I would walk in there would sometimes be a smell. When a place is infested with cockroaches, there is a certain smell and a thickness in the air and this place had it. This is a smell u don't forget and after 24 years of not smelling it. As soon as it hit my nose, in the hallway I recognized it and thought to myself, no...... this place can't have roaches. I would not have believed it, if I didn't see it, but unfortunately they do have them. I showed the manager and took a quick pic of it.
Now we get it. Choice hotels are not perfect 5 star hotels, but usually have a pretty decent standard, but this place should be closed down or completely renovated. This place is an embarrassment to choice hotels. Choice you need to send out spotters and make sure your hotel's are meeting some kind of standard. We have stayed at some choice hotels that were pretty dated, but well maintained and were great and we have been repeat customers. So we are not rating this place on that, even though it is dated. This place is absolutely filthy, it's a shame. The location is good and has potential with the right owners, but these owners...
