Unfortunately we didn't check reviews before booking.
This is by far the worse motel I've stayed at and appears to be run by cheap and incompetent people.
No accommodations made to move us to another room although speaking with other people staying here, it sounds like every room is about the same.
Sometimes the key works & other times not. Told by an employee to pull up the handle if pushing it downward doesn't work.
Towels & linens sheets are only changed every 3 days unless requested sooner.
The carpet was filthy leaving white socks and bottoms of our feet black if shoe or sockless. Apparently they haven't been shampooed for quite awhile.
Of course, the only time I don't bring a blow-dryer, there isn't one in our room (most all motels/hotels have them in their bathrooms.
The walk in shower door is not sealed properly and causes massive amounts of water to leak onto the floor. It took 2 bath towels to soak it up after each shower. Probably why the bathroom floor corners appear to be dark & moldy.
The toilet itself shifts and rocks like it's going to tip over.
Pool area furniture is black from mold. Window ledges are moldy and have not been cleaned, spider webs and dead bugs are on all of them. The community bathroom near the pool is disgustingly filthy at all hours of the day and evening.
The so called breakfast nook is a joke. Food selection is awful. We had to ask for food, coffee, cream cheese to be brought out. No warm food unless you toast a bagel (poppyseed only), ~5 containers of yogurt (all vanilla), 1 type of cereal & toaster waffles & French toast, a few tiny muffins & apples.
You can purchase snacks (snack pack size) but they are very costly. Definitely buy your snacks elsewhere.
Entrance doors are not policed well, found rocks holding them opened for God knows who.
Unfortunately, the motels/hotels in this area are booked due to Shooting events at the Cardinal Center and youth traveling baseball teams.
I WILL NEVER STAY AT A WYNDHAM OR MICROTEL AGAIN
My recommendation is, if you are booking a room in this area, try the Hampton Inn or Holiday Express next to the Microtel...
It would get a zero star rating if I didn't have to give it...
Read moreI'd give it zero if I could. This establishment is run by thieves. I had originally booked for one night with two more added before check in. Man at desk who was nice enough acknowledged this and told me it was all good to go. I slept in a just ok, kinda dingy room and woke up to breakfast selection of molded bagels, other guests saying they were the same bagels there from the night before. Went to work. Came back, my room had been cleaned out and reoccupied. I did finally get to speak to the manager after dealing with a girl with glasses at the desk who feigned not being able to understand English. I explained the situation and cataloged the missing items. i was told housekeeping would resolve this tomorrow. I was swindled into checking back in and placing my card on file for "incidentals". Come the next day I returned in hopes this situation would be rectified decently and humanly. It was not. "Sweety" at the desk was no help. I found out the hotel double charged. Filed fraud claim. Hotel Engine paid and so did I on my own credit card. I spent four hours back and forth with the sheriff, Hotel Engine, Wyndham Corporate, and my card issuer trying to rectify. The only thing I can say good about this is "Sweety" was stupid enough to give me a receipt showing the original booking confirmation with Hotel Engine and my own card magically added for payment. Engine confirmed that they paid the bill too. Back to the theft, manager confirmed the housekeeper took the items home in her personal car and that they would be brought back the next morning. The only item returned to me was a tablet charging block. My Brooks Brothers shirts, colognes, soaps, and a Franklin Mint 1957 Chevrolet model were not returned. "Sweety" (use your real name if you have nothing to hide) said these items were placed in the the trash. Manager the previous night said maid had them and would return. No offer of any compensation was made. "SWEETY" THEN MADE A CALL TO WHOM I ASSUME WAS MANAGER CALLING ME THE EQUIVALENT OF "CCKSUCKER", "CHUMP", "FAGGT" AND "RUBE" IN HINDI. BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW MY WIFE IS INDIAN, I'M FLUENT IN HINDI, AND I SPENT TIME IN THE BRITISH FOREIGN SERVICE. AVOID THIS...
Read moreThere was good and bad. Because I was annoyed I will start with the bad. We called ahead and I asked specifically about the breakfast. Was it a real breakfast or just some sort of cellophane wrapped breakfast food . The man put me on hold for a minute to check and came back and told me yes they did have a real breakfast. In the morning when we went for breakfast it consisted of brown paper bags with an apple a peanut butter granola bar and a small bottle of water. There was a Keurig coffee maker. I did not consider that a real breakfast. I feel the motels are taking advantage of the covid situation to save money by skimping on breakfast. We have stayed at motels that have done a good job even with the covid restrictions. The next poor thing was the towels. Buy Hotel standards they were thin and relatively small. I was hard-pressed to dry off from the shower with one towel. There were two queen-size beds in the room but only towels for two in the room. I actually prefer a thinner towel and had I been aware ahead of time I'm sure I could have asked for extra towels. Two would have been fine. There was not a lot of light in the room. One lamp between the beds and one at the door and of course the ones in the bathroom which was well-lit. last, the covering on the bed was a fairly thin blanket surrounded by two sheets. In the middle of the night I was very cold and had to get up and bring the bedding from the other bed onto our bed so that it was warm enough to sleep. Now the good: the AC / heater was the typical under the window unit that's found in many motels. The fan was relatively quiet but most importantly it stayed on and was a steady sound, and when the heater or AC cycled on it was hardly noticeable. It did not sound like there was a jet plane landing in the parking lot as some of them do. Especially if the fan turns off in between. Both the Heat and the AC were effective. Also the bed was fine as was the shower. There was a little refrigerator, a microwave, a coffee maker and the hair dryer. Had we paid $50 for this room I would you say you get what you pay for. But we paid $100 for the room and for that I expect at least...
