Carol, the guest manager is enough reason to NOT ever go here. EVER. She is miserable. I booked a room on their website and included in the notes that I had an Emotional Support Animal. I emailed the morning of, letting them know I was coming. It's a 4 hour drive, during the last hour of my drive when there is no service they finally left me a message about my emotional support animal. I got to the location at 9 pm at night on Friday and the woman had the audacity to patronize me. She basically refused my stay and handed me a document referencing I would have to pay $500 if I wanted my documented animal to stay but by her actions, even if I could afford the $500, she was fine with not having me stay there. (It was my birthday weekend and I was doing something special for myself since life is hard and this woman was a completely nasty person making me feel unspecial and my birthday was nothing.) Not only was I now stuck without a hotel 4 hours from home in the dead of winter at 9 pm at night on a weekend that was sold out but this woman Carol was terrible, condescending, patronizing and straight up mean. This situation was her screw up, they should have notified me in the morning or any other time than an hour before arrival. I said in my booking I was bringing an animal. I was transparent about everything. After my check in was a bust and completely confrontation, when I was leaving, I asked what her name was to write this review, she didn't answer. I asked if it was Cara and she was like yep. Lying to me. So this woman is also a liar. Obviously when I got signal and the voicemail later on, I learned her correct name. The Best Western next door is amazing!!! The room was way better and they came to my rescue. Also included a...
Read moreMy Husband and I went to this bed and Breakfast to get away from it all! However ||our stay was not as great as I would have wished. We were the only couple there.||very nice inside but I could smell mold coming from somewhere in the room. ||We had no hot water in the sink. So, our hands were frozen every time we washed them. ||||They turned the water heater up but it didn't help much. Also during the restrictions of Covid 19 we were not allowed to eat inside. So the owner made us eat in cold temperatures outside in the patio, with no heaters. Even though the food was good, you could not enjoy it while freezing outside. We asked for heaters, she said no, and provided us with a blanket. ||||I did not feel the owner really cared about her customers at all. She seemed very stressed out and rude to us. I told her if we would have know the conditions of eating outside in the cold, we would have cancelled out trip but she did not tell us||that when the weather turned cold.|| ||She told us she was following the guidelines according to the State, however she never once wore a mask!! which was very disturbing to us. No one in the kitchen including her, did not wear masks while they were cooking!! ||||My husband and I decided to leave a day early, because we couldn't take the outside cold anymore. She did not want to refund us the money for one day. Only give us credit. But we will not be coming back again. So, I hope this review gives you and your friends on how this place...
Read moreStayed here with my mom for a late birthday getaway, and was not disappointed! No trouble finding them, building is lit up nicely and is painted in a nice standout color. The room was clean and beautiful. With an amazingly comfy bed, and a cozy fireplace. It was always nice and quiet, I sometimes forgot we weren't the only ones there. Wifi and cable worked great. There was also plenty of board game and DVD options in the livingroom.
The breakfast was delicious. Each morning we were there we got some yogurt with fruit and jam, an egg dish, meat, and something sweet. Coffee, orange juice and water. Afternoon snacks around 3pm and dessert served around 6pm. During our stay, the snacks were charcuterie boards and desserts were apple cupcakes, pumpkin and spice trifle, and caramel brownies (yum!). Access to lots of different options of hot and cold drinks, in the livingroom area, and a Keurig in the room.
The staff was awesome. Ellie and Donna were great hosts. The handyman and his wife (I'm sorry, I'm drawing a big blank on their names), were the nicest people! Always had a smile on their face, always gave off such a warm feeling (makes me more annoyed with myself for not remembering names!).
We will definitely be staying here again. Haven't been that relaxed in...
