Perfectly Adequate Plus. I am writing this review because of the staff, service, and to share what you can expect. The check in desk was small, but had plenty of extremely helpful staff. I was in town early. The staff stored some fragile items for my family so they would not be ruined in the heat in the car. They communicated very clearly with me through the Hilton phone application. I was able to get an amazing fruit tray delivered as a surprise for my family. The man at the front desk was very discreet and delivered it quickly so it was an experience that made us happy even though we had a bad night. Firstly we didn’t check in until 6:00 P.M. this was because we were going to a concert. The weather postponed the concert. When we returned to the beautiful “almost 100 year old building with the remains of a chapel on floor 7 and bank on our floor (13) AHHH,” it was extremely bad weather. The valet ran to my car and guided my family in the front door with a Large umbrella. Absolutely not expected and wonderful. Absolutely not expecting and easily managed was being double charged by Valet because I prepaid for parking, again it was easily fixed by the in app chat and that was cool. When I got in the front desk gave me physical keys to level 13 AHHH and my digital key was active. The guy at the front desk on May 2 at 6:00 pm ish was discrete and said he will be up in a moment. The $20 fruit tray was a magnificent mixture of blueberries, strawberries, mango, citrus, melon, passion fruits, and real whipped cream. We had a bad night, but the fruit gave the family and sugar rush to tour the floors (14) through the stairwells. We had fun. The room was 300+ square feet and we all had room. 1 hook for a towel and no refrigerator was of, but okay. The dresser and side tables were huge, had nice large flat tops and plugs for everything everywhere. The provided bottles of water were much appreciated and they said they could provide more bottles when I reached out. The lighting was beautiful. The room was in good condition, not perfect, but it was Very clean. The bathroom was spacious with a beautiful ceiling light and backlit mirror. We got cold on the rainy night because the air conditioning worked well and was easily adaptable. I highly suggest visiting the SMALL floor 7 and 13 to see for fun. All the other floors were extremely similar to each other. Floor 1 has many beautiful sitting areas and I assume the Calico restaurant is great because the room service and server were absolutely flawless. Be sure to check out the vending machines and the old revolving door/birds carved into the exterior walls that you can see from the vending area. THE STAFF WERE THE REASON I had to review, the place is...
Read moreI wish they had stars for the hotel and the staff separately! The staff as they were amazing get 5 Stars. From when we pulled up for valet parking Tiara took care of everything, helped us get our bags out, gave us instructions on getting our car, had me walk around the car to inspect it and gave us a very warm welcome to the Kelly. First interactions mean so much and she made us feel welcome and that they were truly glad we were staying with them, she is a great ambassador for the Kelly. Front desk checkin took all of 1 minute, polite, prepared and very professional and again the welcome feeling and the smiles were great. Housekeeping was excellent, everything was very clean and Chris at the bar was excellent. Her bartending skills were terrific! Now, the hotel itself; the details said is was designed by artists and every detail was worked on by a close team, i would beg to differ. The room was adequate, the air vent (only one) blows right on the bed which means you must pull the heavy covers up, which feels good until you sweat and then you push the covers down and freeze. Then there is either a timer or motion sensor on the thermostat as I woke up at 3:05 AM in a puddle of sweat as the HVAC was off and the room heated up, had to get up and turn the system back on. The bathroom was huge but not thought out by the design team who worked together. There is only one towel hook in the bathroom total, so when you take a shower you have to throw your towel over the glass shower enclosure, a couple of hooks just outside the shower would make sense. Then for a hotel that says its green the tendency is to put one towel on the floor as there is only one hook on the door. I took my towel that I planned to reuse and hung it on the closet door out in the room so my wife could have the towel hook in the bathroom. The hand towel rack is knee high, the shower door swings out into the room making it awkward and blocks much of the room. A sliding shower door would make much more sense, or better yet, no door, making it a walk in shower. This would be safer, less expensive and much less for the maintenance department. I know this is a lot but we chose the Kelly and paid a lot more based on its advertisement, we do not mind spending more for a room, $300 for one night but it should be worth it. You should get what...
Read moreI stayed at the Kelly Hotel March 29, 2023 for one night. I love art, and furnishings. It was very chic and hip. The room was lovely. The views of the city were awesome. My troubles began the next day at check out. The clerk checked me out, but didn't inform me that there was a balance of $50. While I was still in the lobby, I went back to the front desk to ask for a copy of my bill. The clerk said they would be right back. They returned with someone in management. He informed me that I need to back $50 for a charge to my room from the bar. I told him I don't drink and I had not been to the bar to order anything. He said that he would look a the video in the bar. I told him that I was going to call Hilton Honors, he then said to me that I was being defensive and I wasn't allowing him the opportunity to resolve this issue. So I walk away from the desk and call Hilton. This individual also say he was the General Manager, later I found out that he was not, when the actual GM Johnathan Holland introduced himself to me. The young man said to me that I was acting guilty, infront of his staff in the lobby of the hotel. This member of management and his staff laughed at me which mad me feel very uncomfortable. I told them that i would waitboutsidenof the hotel until the GM arrived to speak to me. I felt that the way I was spoken to was unprofessional. I felt that he was baiting me to cause a scene. When I talked to Mr. Holland per our conversation, he said that he would reach back out to me. He said that the hotel would cover all charges. I felt that due to the embarrassing situation and the way I was spoken to, covering the charges was a minimum. I asked to be reward enough reward points equivalent to one night stay at the Kelly Hotel. The following week I was given 20,000 point. Mr. Holland said that he would call me, I'm still waiting on that...
