I stayed in the hotel two nights. The room I reserved was the only one available, a queen bed suite. When I arrived I saw scaffolds on a part of the hotel. Apparently, it is going renovations. The influence on me was that I think I smelled dust in the room I stayed in for the first night.||That room, had the scaffolds in the window. The reception told me that they start working at 8 AM, but that they are now focusing on the other side of the hotel. The room itself was small with a very small bathroom. There was just one table to eat and as a desk. The main problem was the toilet. It leaked on the floor. The seal of toilet was not good.||I returned to the receptionist and told her that. She came to see. She saw the leak and brought towels for the floor. It actually made things better and I was able to use the toilet and shower later. I requested to replace the room the following day and she agreed.||The following day, I got an upgrade to my request (no pay) to a double queen suite. That room was good. It was larger and I finally had room to open my suitcases. I did the laundry on the first night and I was able to repack my suitcase after it.||||To sum up. The service was good. I got response to my request to change and upgrade the room (with no extra charge). I used the free guest self laundry service, and it was very good too.||The low rating cannot be avoided because of the room I had on the first night. Given the state if the room, it certainly shouldn't have been made available to guests.||||The fact that the hotel is under renovations is not mentioned in the web site, and I think the size of the room is not mentioned either. I am not sure there are photos of the rooms either, Had I known the size of the room and that the hotel is under renovation, I would have probably picked the holiday inn next...
Read moreUpon arriving late evening, we were given Room 208. At the room, we found the door damaged (splintered with holes around the locking mechanism)Going to the clerk, we informed her of our safety concerns as 2 senior females. Being told it was the only room available, we inquired if other Marriot properties were available, but were told no. They told us we could move to another room the next day as there would be some available. We reluctantly spent the night in Room 208.||The next morning we cleared from the room, but could not move to a different room as none had been clean. Casey, at the desk, stored our belongings and said we would be assigned a different room as soon as one was available. When we arrived back later evening, Jennifer told us we haad not been given a room and “the only room available” then was Room 208. We expressed concern about that room, but had no option. Upon arriving at the room, the door was ajar and the room had not even been cleaned, We reported this to Jennifer, who promptly got us clean pool towels||This room should be properly repaired before it is rented. This is definitely not up to Marriott standards. Casey failed to follow through in assigning a different room and was not helpful except storing our luggage. At least Jennifer did the best she could.||Upon complaining to Marriot we discovered this is a “franchise” hotel, and they control rather than Marriot. The manager, Tonya, told Marriot we had not complained or made any report to the desk., which obviously...
Read moreI spent a month at the hotel for work. I really enjoyed my stay. Most of the reception desk staff (Amani, Ryland, Sinethya, Victoria and Tasha (I hope that's her name) were very pleasant, happily welcoming you as you enter and wishing you a good day when you leave. My suite was very spacious, with plenty storage. The hotel was clean and surprisingly quiet. There are filtered water dispensers on every floor, as well as an ice machine on the first floor. They have a small but useful gym, which was empty the majority of the time. There's ample parking and is centrally located, close to Walmart, a movie theater, and I-65. There are a few areas for improvement: * although laundry is free (which I appreciated) one of the only 2 washers (there are 4 dryers) has been broken for a couple of months from what the manager stated. breakfast (also included) is ok but edible. What bothered me most, though, was that the plastic utensils were always placed facing up, which meant that everyone had to feel over the forks, spoons and knives to get their own. a couple of the front desk staff were less than pleasant (one man, Brian, looked incredibly bothered that I approached the desk) but I didn't see him afterwards so perhaps he's left. Overall, I would recommend staying at the TownePlace Suites...
