IHOP — Restaurant in Homewood

Service was possibly the worst around. Waited over 20 min to get asked what we would like to drink. Waited another 30 minutes to get our very basic order for two. When we received our food, my girlfriend's grits were cold and chunky and were lazily slopped into the bowl. When we ran out of water, it was never refilled. The manager stood in the back corner wrapping flatware for the tables and ignored customers for 10+ minutes at a time when they walked in. However, when someone went to the counter to pay, she would briskly walk to take their money, then returned to wrapping flatware. The restaurant itself was not very busy, there was only two couples and a small group of 6 or less. They had two servers and a manager who did not seem to want to be disturbed as they would stand in the back for extended periods of time talking and laughing. As for the cook and the table busser, they were fantastic. Constantly trying to help out in any way that they could, despite their co-workers not doing their jobs. As we were leaving the restaurant, the manager finally addressed the group that had been waiting for about 30 minutes to notify them that it would be an hour wait if they would like to eat, ironically enough, they closed in a little less than an hour, so the group left. Service as a whole was just disgusting and a horrible representation of the IHOP name. I apologize for the long review but I just want to ensure that no one else will have to endure this kind of horrible service. I had the worse service here and will NEVER be back. I had to wait about 45 minutes to an hour to get my food, and they weren't busy AT ALL. My friends food went to 3 different tables before it finally made it us. I also had to go get my own condiments. And once we finally got our food that was wrong it was cold and disgusting. Then we get ready to leave, I ask for the ticket and wait about another 20-30 mins, as I watch the girl stand at the computer looking completely puzzled, I get up and head to the cashier bc I was just going to tell her what we had since the waitress couldn't figure out the computer. Then she comes running like I'm going to not pay and says "oh I'm getting yalls ticket ready", I told her it was fine bc I knew what I order and obviously she didn't. I ended up calling the complaint number on the receipt and the manger called the next day and told me he watched the video of us and how our food bounced from one table to another and said he was extremely sorry. I ordered a spinach and mushroom omelette with no hollandaise sauce and American cheese instead of Swiss. This was a to-go order and I elected to pay for it after I received it and made sure that my order was correct before I left. When I received my order, because there was a lot of guests surrounding the cashier, I quickly reviewed the Omelette and saw there was no cheese on top but maybe it was in the inside. I paid for my meal and went to my vehicle to get out of the way. I cut my omelette open and saw that there was no cheese. I took the Omelette back inside and asked her if they could put some cheese on top of it and I would be on my way. She came back without my omelette and said that they was going to remake it. I pleaded with her not to have them remake it just put some on top because I knew something else was going to be wrong. They still we made The Omelette and guess what? Now I have no mushrooms to go with my spinach and mushroom omelette. I did not go back inside because I did not want anyone to spit in my food and this was getting very tedious.
