The store itself is generally fine—well-stocked and clean, aside from the bathrooms. However, my recent experiences at checkout have been incredibly disappointing, all due to one employee: Denise S. She should not be in a customer service role, especially at the register. If anything, a position behind the scenes would be more suitable because she clearly dislikes her job—or perhaps people in general.
The first time she was rude to me, I gave her the benefit of the doubt—maybe she was having a bad day. But after my second encounter yesterday, I realized this is just how she treats customers. She was unpleasant not only to me but also to the two people ahead of me in line.
She was working at the returns register when a woman brought back a couple of small items—nothing complicated. Denise sighed loudly, rolled her eyes, and visibly showed her annoyance throughout the process. When the woman asked a simple question, Denise completely ignored her, refusing to engage. Finally, the customer hesitantly asked, “Is everything good? Am I okay to go?”—and Denise just rolled her eyes again without saying a word.
When it was my turn to check out, she acted annoyed by my purchase—maybe she thought I had too many items (even though it was only 10 smaller things). She continued rolling her eyes, sighing, and showing visible frustration, even toward my young daughter. Any time I asked a question, she simply refused to respond.
At this point, it’s clear that she does not want to be in this position. Her attitude completely ruins the shopping experience, and quite frankly, it’s embarrassing to feel dread about checking out because of how you’ll be treated. I’ve spent over $100 each visit, and I refuse to give my money to a store where I’m disrespected.
Because of this, I won’t be returning to this location. Management needs to address this issue—Denise’s behavior isn’t just affecting me, but multiple customers. If she dislikes her job this much, she should find another one instead of making customers feel this way. I'm tired of the...
Read moreI shop at this Hobby Lobby frequently when I am taking a lunch break at work. The store is always clean and organized but the employees are the WORST. I have written many checks there previously and cashiers has never questioned this payment method before. The last time I went shopping on my lunch break to get all of the decorations for my daughters birthday party, I wrote a check and the cashier called a manager over to show her how to pull up the list of people who have written bad checks, neither of them knew how to access it off the top of their heads so I know it isn't something they do frequently. The cashier told the manager because the check was such a large amount (it was only $341, as expensive as things are at this store I would imagine that's a typically fair amount for people to spend.) she needed to make sure I wasn't on the list. I mentioned that no cashier had ever done this before to which the manger responded "they probably don't know how". I was embarrassed standing there in front of other customers being treated like I had done something wrong and when the cashier had finished processing my check she told me "this was such a pain". There was no apology for my time wasted or the embarrassment she caused me, she just complained about taking my money.. Also all of the extra time they spent making sure my check wasn't fraudulent caused me to be late returning from my lunch break. I do love Hobby Lobby for both my crafting needs and home decor but I would prefer to shop at other locations where the employees are more friendly and actually try to provide any...
Read moreI absolutely love Hobby Lobby, but this store is one I will never return to. In three visits to the store in a month and a half, I have had to fight to get the prices posted on the displayed sale signs. Once, they forgot to take a sign down and nearly wouldn’t honor it. Twice, they claimed that the signs were only for some of the items (both on end caps), but not for all of the items. I wanted a small pack of electric candles once, but the cashier claimed the sale wasn’t for the packs, just the individual ones. I believe everything on the end cap was a pack of candles, and there was a sign. Today, I wanted a small sign that was again on an end cap with a sale sign, but apparently, it was not included in the sale, because it wasn’t specifically listed on the sign. The assistant manager was extremely rude, more than any of the other employees I’ve dealt with. If a store has this many problems with advertising their sales—in the store—it is not worth my time, especially when the employees are so rude and refuse to honor the posted signs. I will go to another Hobby Lobby store, or another craft store altogether, even if it means extra driving time. I have never been so disappointed in one of...
