My stay at Motel 6 in Bishop was nothing short of a complete nightmare. The room was disgustingly dirty, with stained sheets and a musty odor. The bathroom was unsanitary, and the towels were more abrasive than usable. The staff showed no interest in providing even basic customer service. To make matters worse, the parking spaces were all compact-car size, despite half of the guests driving trucks, resulting in constant chaos. But that's not all..... the atmosphere was far from family-friendly, making it unsuitable for children. The motel appeared to be a den, with sketchy individuals coming and going at all hours. To top it off, the management seemed to run a scam by claiming to be overbooked and not honoring confirmed reservations, instead demanding extra money at walk-in rates. Furthermore, the amenities were a complete disappointment. The pool, coffee machine, and vending machine were all out of order, adding to the overall sense of neglect and disrepair. I would strongly advise against staying at this motel. It's dirty, unsafe, noisy, and lacks integrity in its dealings with guests. I was so disappointed that I left after just one day, even though I had booked for two, without even bothering to ask for a refund. There are far better accommodation options in the area that will provide a much more pleasant experience.

Ive stayed at a lot of Motel 6s. There's always the suspicion that this caliber of place has cockroaches. But this was the first Motel 6 where I actually saw them in my room (2nd floor, even). I ended up staying the night anyway (checked in at 11pm) and requested a partial refund at check out. First, they denied that they were roaches, claiming they have had issues with "water bugs". Ill post the pictures of the smaller ones that I was able to get. Clearly roaches. A nickle-sized one hid under the baseboard when the bathroom light came on. There were big ones all over the parking lot, as well so I'm not sure whose leg they think they're pulling with that line. Second, they only refunded me $20 on a $120 bill. Ill probably contest the charge when it comes through, as I had discussed a 50% refund with the front desk. The staff *was* super kind and Im sure were advised by higher ups to lie and give the line about "water bugs". But still, if I'm going to be sleeping with bugs either way, I'll just camp for free next time!

I love bishop! The front desk lady had a great sense of humor and was super nice! She helped out this tweaker guy who wanted to trade cash for quarters, he gave me bad vibes unfortunately. Anyways during my stay that same tweaker ended up trying to break into someone’s truck (unsuccessfully) and later that night upset another tweaker and was shot 3 times. It kind of sounded like a paintball gun, but he sounded like he was really in pain so I made sure to call out to ask him if he was ok, but he only moaned in response and then the cops showed up and they handled it. Oh! And the scenery of this town is awesome! It’s so absolutely gorgeous the mountains are fantastic, and most of the people here are nice. Coming from a village myself, I can appreciate the vibes here.

These are personal views and personal experience staying on several trips. Dirty, unkempt, and needs excessive maintenance. Rude disrespectful, discounting, and unhelpful attitude and actions by staff. ||1. 2nd Floor walkway to rooms has sinking spots, and carpet looks completely filthy and trashed, attached with industrial staples. ||2. Some doors have gaps of up to 1/2 inch - leaving room for bugs, snakes, etc. to enter your room while you sleep. ||3. Parking area lights for 2nd building broken and one is smashed is laying on the ground.||4. Mens' underwear and dirty clothing lying in parking area for several days. ||5. Garbage cans outside rooms are not emptied daily. ||6. In several rooms, rooms were dirty and did not meet promised advertised standard of "highest safety cleanliness." Floor was covered with dirt, and when washed (upon checking in) left a bucket of water and soap black.||7. Pleather covered seating covered with dust, dirt and grime. Had to ||wash and sanitize. ||8. Door frame to room was falling apart, with pieces of wood missing. ||9. Stairs to rooms missing sections, in disrepair, needing painting, and repair. ||10. Shower curtains are strange fabric that does not appear to get washed between guests. Bring your own shower curtain and shower curtain rings. ||11. Surfaces needed to be disinfected. ||12. Bed had two flat sheets and no fitted sheet. Was refused sheets when asked at office. ||13. Office staff rude, disrespectful, and continually disregarded guests medical ADA needs and requests, requiring guest to stay in a 2nd floor room, then to move rooms several times, and gave guest three sets of keys to a room that was broken, yet acted they they were unaware. When asked for a key to unlock the door (a real key for the lock that showed) was told the key was "lost." ||14. Threatened guest with unauthorized entry to room, to check smoke alarm, and refused to wait five days until guest vacated. ||15. Was told guest not allowed to have "Do Not Disturb" for room; that housekeeping wanted to inspect the room because too many guests destroy their rooms and leave them trashed. This was said to a senior citizen who left the room cleaned, floor washed, shower scrubbed, all trash emptied, and sanitized upon departure on previous stay. ||16. Left unattended when called to confirm same day arrival and told "Oh, you don't have a room but we have your reservation"then left on the line while employee made personal call that could be heard to talk about hamburger for her weekend. Motel6 doesn't have a hamburger room option. ||17. Threatened guest saying that unauthorized entry was for "fire department" but no fire department inspection was scheduled, and then admitted there was no such thing. ||18. Demanded guest cancel evening activities, and next day travel committments, to accommodate the hotel's staff preferences, and insistence on entering room improperly without authorization during paid guest stay. ||19. Caused unnecessary stress and loss of travel time due to bizarre disregard of guests. ||20. Towels tiny and thin. Sheets very thin and very worn out. ||21. Bathtubs in several units in disrepair, and appears to have DIY home spackling" on tubs and walls. ||22. Did not have all toiletries stated that were available upon checkin. ||23. Many guests smoking marijuana, yelling, and arriving at all hours of night without any consideration of existing guests. ||24. Rooms with adjoining doors have no privacy, soundproof, seal, or separation from smells. ||25. Told check in was 3 pm, when online reservation states 1 pm; not allowed to check in after calling ahead twice, and driving all day. ||26. Rooms had dust bunnies, dirt grime, and layer of dirt (found upon sweeping, washing, and wiping down with cleaners and disinfectants). ||27. When told, upon checking in, they had the reservation, but had not held a room for the guest, left the guest stranded, asking local police for options to sleep in car as all other hotels either full, or charging more than twice and three times the cost of reservation for a same day reservation stay. For more than 3 hours, left guest in a state of severe concern where they would sleep and be safe having traveled at least six hours and made several confirming reservation phone calls, and told that all was well, until arrival. ||28. Pool door broken and could not be opened. ||29. Icemaker did not work, told it would be fixed "sometime" but not the same day, and no alternative ice provided. ||30. Garbage around property, and what appeared to be homeless sleeping bags, and items, right next to building at ear side. ||31. Bags for dog poop in dispensers...

The woman at the front counter when I checked in was wonderful. She was very nice, polite, and informative. She was the one saving grace in our whole experience. Unfortunately though, she was not enough to make us stay here again. I have stayed at the Bishop Motel 6 several times in the past, but I do think this may be my last time.

At first glance, our room looked clean. However, upon a closer look, it was definitely NOT clean. There was something disgusting dried and crusted on one of the bathroom towels. Honestly, it looked like someone blew their nose in it and then it didn't wash out all the way. The dryer just baked whatever it was right into the fibers of the towel. Next, there was blood on the bathroom door. It looked like maybe someone had cut their hand and then grabbed the doorknob. Finally, the bathroom sink was clogged and drained incredibly slowly. The sink would fill up so fast that it was difficult to do anything without accidentally dipping into the rising dirty sink water.

Finally, we did not get a bit of sleep. The people staying in the room above ours were awake ALL NIGHT and were moving about their room THE ENTIRE TIME. I honestly believe they were on drugs. They had to be! It sounded as though they were rearranging the furniture in the room. We could hear things being moved, dragged, and rolled from one side of the room to the other. We could hear every foot step, every movement. It continued all night. I know Motel 6 can't possibly know what every guest will do when they rent a room to them, but this whole experience has made me realize just how paper thin your walls and floors are. Next time I think I will be staying at a hotel with a little more of a buffer between me and the next room. I don't care how much cheaper Motel 6 is than other hotels in the area--if I'm going to be awake and staring at the ceiling the whole night, it's just not worth it. Factor in the filthy room and I'd be willing to pay double...

I was locked out of my room at 5:15 AM. Three new keys did not work. The master key card did not work. The receptionist said she would call someone so I went across the street to breakfast. I returned to find a different receptionist who looked at notes left by the first one but could not determine what had been done. She offered to try the master key again and pulled the rear office door closed behind her as we went to my room. No luck. We returned to the office and discovered that the receptionist was locked out of the rear office. She had no key. I asked if there was a physical key to unlock my room and she thought it was in the back room, which was now locked. The manager was out of town. The office manager I believe was trying to find a way into the back room. Maintenance was said to have changed some of the locks on the lower floor the day earlier, but not mine on the upper floor. They should return later in the day to finish with the locks. I decided to drive around the local area rather than wait longer; it had been almost two hours by then. Most of my things were locked in my room (briefcase, laptop, sunglasses, earbuds, clothes, etc.). So I decided not to do the all day hike I had come to Bishop to do and instead did a driving tour. I returned about 3:00 in the afternoon and got new keys from a third receptionist. They did not work. She tried the master key and it did not work. She called the office manager who brought the physical key and finally opened my door. He gave me a key to the room next door and I moved my things. He told me that lock had been serviced during the day and had worked earlier. He mentioned the maids and I believed he said they had been in. When I entered the room had not be made up. I asked for a refund of one day's charges (I stayed two nights) and he said he would have to ask the manager, who was...
