DO NOT STAY HERE. I stayed in room 6 last saturday (10/4/2023. I woke up about 2 am with extraordinary ichiness all over my arms and feet. I turned the light on and could see live bedbugs. Unfortunatley, I have unintentionally become a kind of expert on bedbugs because of an infestation that was in a house I bought 7 years ago. I did check the matress before I went to slep, but it and the box springs were encassed in zipper very fine mesh bags. We had to use such bags when we bought new matresses to replace the bedbug contaminated ones. I thought maybe they were there for another reason, but my gut instinct was correct. For the owners info, you basically have to gut the whole room of carrpet and everything else that is fabric. Have a qualified exterminator spray the ENTIRE room carefully to inject the pesticide into all crevices in the floor, wall, behind light sockets EVERYWHERE. Their life cycle is such that they lay eggs after a blood meal and they take about three weeks to hatch. So that means you will have bed eggs hatching, eggs are not effected by pesticide, for three weeks after you spray. It took us three sprays over a 6 week period of completley empty rooms. All linens and cloths have to be tumble dried on high heat to kill residiual eggs and nothing can be introduced back into the room until the infestation is completley gone. All bedframes and furniture should be inspected and wiped cleean and stay outdside in the sun for 2-3 weeks. They hate the sun. The other option is burn the hotel down and rebuild, serious. While I understand that the owners are going to be out a bunch of money, because they have to close the hotel for a couple months to get rid of these damn things completley, its the only way. I am pissed that it is now clear that you already knew that there had bed bugs in the place, as evidenced by the special matress/box springs covers, and rented to me and likely many other folks. The thing with bed bugs is that not everyone has a reaction to their bite, you may not even feel it. I unfortunatley have a severe alergy to the bites, that become incredibly itchy, then form a puss filled very painful head, that if you pop spreads. I am on my second day of prednisone 40 mg and cortisone cream and it is not fun. Shame on you owners. Looking back at yelp reviews from 2017 people were complaining about fleas and one bedbugs, def bed bugs not fleas and as I said the infestatrion will never go away and you spread these devils to unsuspecting guests who can intern spread them, this is the vicious bedbug...
Read moreWe booked the motel on a holiday weekend with not much availability in the town. Reviews were average, price was reasonable. The first night my wife and I had a horrible night's sleep due to the entire bed frame being broken and collapsing in the middle. See photo for room 34.
The next morning I asked for another room because we were staying for 2 nights. The manager said he needed to wait for the cleaning crew and he would let us know by 4 PM. When we returned from our excursion, he gave us a new room. So we moved all of our stuff into another room (plus 2 kids).
Since the new room was cold (it was down in the 20s at night) we put the heater on. Within about 5 minutes my 9-year old says "something is burning". He was right near the heater by the window and when I looked, I noticed arcing and sparking and smoke coming out of the outlet that the air conditioning/heating unit was plugged into. Risking getting shocked myself, I immediately unplugged the unit from the outlet. After the smoke dissipated I looked at it. The outlet had melted and was probably minutes from causing a fire in the room and eventually burning the entire hotel down if no one was in the room to notice and take action. See melted outlet plug photo room 21.
It took 30 minutes to get the maintenance guy there, who promptly said the room is a fire hazard and said no one can stay there. He didn't even attempt to fix it and started arguing with me when I showed him the shoddy workmanship with the grounding plug, especially since it put my family in danger. Since the entire town was sold out and there was only one room left in the hotel (with only one bed) we were forced to squeeze in there. In the third room, room 20, I noticed the sink coming off the wall in the bathroom, the unfinished wall/tile work, and the missing smoke alarm in the ceiling (isn't that illegal?). I found the smoke alarm under the TV cabinet with the battery removed. See photos for room 20
I will never recommend this hotel to anyone. I wanted my money back. After checking out the next morning, I was told that all I would be receiving as far as a refund was 50% off of one night's stay. So I paid 150 bucks for a bed that was broken and 75 bucks to put my family in danger. What a joke this place...
Read moreWhen will I learn to spend a few more bucks and get a comfortable, clean room? Booked through a website for $80. Didn't expect the Hilton, but at least as good as Motel 6. This was not even that good. ||First off, the gardeners, who were taking a long break, didn't clean the rose stem cuttings in front of my room. I was wearing sandals so I had to be careful. Took off my sandals in the room and noticed the rug was wet. They must have just shampooed the carpet. Like walking in a swamp. ||To plug in my laptop, I had to crawl under the table to find a plug. I noticed something shiny in the carpet. A FISHHOOK! NIce! After this, I wore shoes in the room the entire stay. ||The one chair in the room was stained. In the bathroom, I don't think they replaced the shampoo. It was half full so why bother. The towels were like sandpaper.||The tv wouldn't work. I walked down to the office and had the manager come to the room. He had the remote control to select input. I'm pretty tech-savvy, but why I wasn't ably to do this with my control is a mystery. ||The bed was OK, but the way things were going, I wasn't going to climb under the sheets, so I slept on top. Also, glad I brought earplugs. Noisy neighbors till late at night. ||I wanted to sit outside, but the one bench outside my room was falling apart. ||To be fair, the AC was fine. The water pressure was adequate, and It's centrally located. ||All in all, a very funky experience. I won't...
