We did our homework on this place before coming. We had a family emergency and needed a last-minute place to stay. This hotel seemed reasonable, as it promised what we wanted and needed. Our assigned room was 102, with a bed and an additional roll-away. It would have been very crowded in there with 3 wheelchairs.|The roll-away bed was placed in our room Wednesday night, September 6, 2023. We opened the door to find it blocking our way into the room. The front desk staff moved us into room 117. This was no better, as the beds were way too high. The desk in the corner of the room was horrible. I moved the desk chair to one side of the desk. This was to allow my wheelchair to get up to the desk. When I did this, however, I got stuck in that little corner. I had to move the desk chair between the beds. This was quite inconvenient for obvious reasons.|I suspect that room 117 was even smaller than room 102. We had to store some of our belongings in the bathtub. Most of our time in this hotel was spent moving stuff back and forth. We spent as little time here as possible. I should also mention that our family emergency was visiting a terminally ill relative. It was an already difficult time further complicated and dampened by a sloppy hotel. We feel every traveler with a physical disability must be aware of this place. We will not return here on our next visit- possibly after my...
Read moreOk renovations on a weekend? Not the best idea. Not notifying guests that you're re-doing locks by posting a notice? Even worse. My friend came to check into our room day after mine and found the door wide open (to whoever wanted to come in and steal) and they were putting on new lock mechanisms. Best part? Didn't cover anything and I found metal shavings on the sink, in the soap and on my toothbrush.
Sign in the room says they only clean every 3 days unless requested. When we requested she tried to talk us out of it then said well try. Next morning at 8am the housekeeper with ear buds in and not a care in the world had the lock bar over the door and kept opening and shutting it, slamming it every time. Took her closer to 45 mins. To clean a room and with the noise I never got to sleep in on my kid-free vacation. With that timing, it's no wonder we never got our room cleaned.
Bathrooms are grimy and outdated. Forget the new key locks, I recommend spending money/time inside the rooms.
The only saving grace was the breakfast area was nice, and the ice water was always stocked. In general it was pretty quite, except for our 8am wake up calls by loud housekeeping...
Read moreWe had a reservation and arrived about 5:30 on the 29th. The hotel clerk was very distant and seemed “out of it?” We paid in cash and he also took $100 deposit which is the norm. But he wouldn’t put anything in writing on our invoice. We finally got checked in and to our surprise there was no elevator. Yes 2 storey doesn’t need one but my husband had just had an operation……so no lifting and I have COPD so I can’t lift much. The lobby was not at all clean but when we got to the stair case it was filthy. Hadn’t been vacuumed or cleaned forever. We got into our room and the bedding was yellowed and the sheets had blood on them . The room was dusty, windows filthy, bathroom had mould. We left our room to go out for supper and asked if it could get cleaned. There was no comment back to us. We will never recommend this hotel. In the am we checked out and did get our deposit back. We looked at the bfast area and it was dirty too. The waffle maker was broken and had never...
