It wasn’t a business trip or a vacation, I was from out of state and had come back for my father’s funeral. The room was pretty beat up but appeared clean. I pulled open drawers, and checked the mattress seams, pleased to find no sign of bedbugs or cockroaches anywhere, so my first night (before the funeral) I had a wonderful nights sleep. The bed, the pillows, the hot water, all were more than adequate. However, upon returning to the room after the funeral, I discovered a cockroach just boldly hanging out on the corner of my iPad. I got a pic, and took it to the front office. They did not offer to switch my room. They did not offer any kind of refund. They did, however, kindly provide me with a can of Raid. So, I’ve now completely poisoned the entire room (including the ceiling), and everything is slippery and smells like poison, and I am not able to sleep or eat and I’m stuck here for two more nights waiting for the greyhound that will take me home again…a grueling 16 hour ordeal. This is definitely grounds for at least a partial refund, isn’t it? Two days later, another cockroach. In my breakfast. I guess the Raid doesn’t actually do anything to keep them away.

I wish i could take stars away from these reviews. Checked in and got settled after about an hour and a half of sitting on the bed i felt something crawling on me so i jumped up and moved the pillow to find scattering bed bugs. The front desk has so far been unaccommodating and at 12am I had to find a new hotel. Needless to say they told me Expedia had to give me refund and they offered me no resolution. If you want to infect all of your belongings then stay here, otherwise stay away! This is a dangerous, disastrous situation and all of my belongs that went with me are not contaminated. I am trying to post pictures for proof, however this site is blocking them. As I am reading below this place has a serious bed bug issue!!!! I will be calling the health department too because it seems as if they haven't taken anyone serious! We were in room 221 the other lady was in the 100's so obviously this is on multiple floors!!!!

First of all, I read reviews and was worried about booking this motel/inn. Last night stayed at Best Western Plus Bloomington East Hotel and they charged me twice and the young girl working the front desk was rude and my room is just as nice here for 40 dollars cheaper and the front desk lady was excellent here. I would stay here again. Im cycling down route 66 and staying here because of some issues i was having, and im glad I came here tonight. Can't speak for any other room, but this room im in right now is decent for 60 dollars. It's not perfect, but it's 60 bucks. There's some issue with the room, but it doesn't affect my stay. Just being fair on the rating. Lights work, TV works and the a/c works, shower is working well. I can deal with the small issues that don't bother me. Might bother some, but im fine here🤑 60 bucks. I will edit by morning if there are any issues.

READ THIS BEFORE YOU BOOK! Literally the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in my life. We stayed for 3 nights. And every night, I wish I would’ve booked the one in the front. For 2 nights the sink wasn’t working, pipe was full and the water was getting stuck and wouldn’t go down, so every time we used the sink, the sink filled up with water. Btw that was the only sink we had. So to brush our teeth, and spit out mouth wash, to shave, that was the place we had to go. So it was nasty every-time we did our hygiene routine, because all the shaved hair and mouthwash and leftover toothpaste would fall in the fill broken sink with its water and float to the top, it was generally disgusting. We had to ask the front desk TWICE for help. In the end they gave me a plunger, for me to try to fix the sink myself. Because they didn’t have any maintenance on staff those 2 days. In the end I MYSELF, unplugged the sink, what came out was about months worth of dirt and nasty stuff stuck in the pipe, it was generally one of the grosses things I ever seen, they do NOT clean there pipes. But besides that it got worst, the door knob on the bathroom, was broken, so everytime we used the bathroom, somebody would have to close the door front the outside, because the doorknob on the outside was not working, it was generally ridiculous. The floors where also nasty super scratched up, there were so many black marks on it. Also kinda of sticky for some reason. The bedsheet had dead fly or bug marks on them. The breakfast table was the smallest thing I’ve ever seen, but not the worst, so I won’t go after them on that. I paid almost $300 dollars, for a horrible experience. I generally from the bottom of my heart do not recommend staying here. I would not waste 10 minutes writing this review for noting. The hotel in the front right next to the crackle I was told was much better. So go...

I stayed here in 2021 without issue. This year was unfortunately not the same. I arrived a little before midnight and had to check in through a banker-esque slot in the window of the vestibule; I was not allowed to enter the lobby. The people checking me in for my stay were pleasant, though.

The hotel is undergoing remodeling which it sorely needs. My room appeared acceptably clean upon first glance, though outdated. The door to the room did not close flush which made me a bit uncomfortable, so I made certain to deadbolt and fold the security latch over. The air conditioning unit was a bit noisy but got the job done if I bumped the temperature a few degrees lower than I wanted the room at.

I went to bed fairly quickly due to my late arrival and was out of the room most of the next day. On the second night as I laid down to sleep, I spotted something scurrying across the wall near the ceiling. Turns out, I wasn't alone in the room and got share it with a cockroach. Where there's one, there's usually more... at that point, it was late and too dark for me to shake out my belongings (which had been open and in the room for 24 hours) before putting them in the car to try to find other lodgings with an event in town and traveling with a pet so I spent a pretty sleepless night laying in bed watching for more movement.

At check out, the front desk person was polite and apologetic when I showed him the photograph of my visitor, but he didn't seem surprised. No compensation was offered, and no one has followed up with me about the experience.

It will be my last time staying at this location and, after several poor experiences with the chain, likely at Red Roofs altogether. While I don't expect five star accommodations at a Red Roof, I did expect better for...

they need to call it THE RED ROACH AND FRIENDS INN... We tried to give this trash hotel a chance for a first time and was overly disappointed.... We checked in after 3pm but didnt get into the room until midnight because of personal business affairs. The lady up front tried to convince and say there were clean and well organized. However, as soon as we walked in the room door we spotted spider webs, was killing roaches, flies, gnats,, beetles, and spiders!!!!! 'Mostly roaches and beetles. It was a very small room, very hot and dirty... We told the manager on duty we wanted a refund so we can go somewhere else and he refused us our money and said we couldnt give the cash back until "the morning manager comes." We told him we couldnt stay, especially given the fact that IM PREGNANT AND CANNOT BE ASSOCIATED WITH BUGS LIKE THAT BECAUSE OF THE DISEASES AND SUCH THAT THEY CARRY. he didint care. we threatened to call the police and he got scared and said he would call his morning manager in... he never did. we "had to wait until 8 am for him to come in." We didint lay in the bed, we put all of our stuff back in the car. we didnt even stay more than 5 hours there. the morning manager got there and had an attitude with us the whole time, yelling and tellling us not to come back because we were annoyed and tired and angry at these people misleading us and telling us wrong. and really didnt want to give us the money back but he had no choice.... honestly.. forget this place ... dont waste yalls money on it... at all. and the "breakfast provided" was a slice of wheat or white bread and oatmeal with apple or orange juice which had black stuff...
