I usually really liked going to Cracker Barrel growing up however within the last few years of going our family has not been very satisfied. If you dine in the service is hit and miss. We've had a really great server who was very attentive to us and checking in. Other times we have been we have had servers who lack customer service skills and don't check in, we had to ask for refills and then I have to flag them down after sitting and waiting and watching them walk past MULTIPLE times without checking in when my kids are clearly getting antsy after being done eating for a while and all we're waiting for is the check. My most recent visit however was by far the worst experience I have ever had there. I had ordered a pick up order online. Pretty simple 2 strawberry cheesecake pancake meals with eggs and our choice of meat along with a kids pancake meal. I placed my order around 6:45pm and my order was due to be ready by 7:18pm. I arrived at the store around 7pm as I don't live very far away (3 min drive at most if you hit the red lights on market) I checked in and let them know I was there and I knew I was early but just wanted to let them know I was there. There were 3 ladies working (1 I assume to be management as she was in casual clothes). They were all very nice and greeted me nicely when I walked in. After waiting and walking around the lobby a couple times I stood by the front counter within eyesight so that way once my food was ready I could get it right away. It was about 7:10 and they had been bringing up other orders checking the name and seeing if they were mine. I had been asked at least 10 times by all 3 of the ladies my name on my order. The gentlemen bringing the orders up even acknowledged my name and order and told me it would be about 5-8 minutes. That was fine with me as I knew I was a little early. He ended up bringing my food up around 7:20. I watched him bring up my order and set it in on the shelf. I'm not sure where it went wrong from here but someone clearly didn't communicate that my order was there and neither of the 2 ladies checked when he brought up my food KNOWING I had been waiting since 7:00. Finally after standing there for about 10 minutes the 1 lady (who again I assume to be someone in management) asks me again the name on my order as she walks past me to go check in up front. She immediately checks the name on the order the gentlemen brought up and seen it was my order. I told her that I seen him bring that order up and set it on the shelf where it had been sitting for at least 10 minutes. I did complain about the wait and told them I would like my food checked as I felt it should have been remade after sitting for 10 minutes. The lady proceeded to say "I don't believe it's been that long" she takes my bag back to the counter and "checks" my food. She then brings it back to me and states "it still feels pretty warm" and gave me back the bag. She then apologized for my long wait because at this point it was 7:30!! I know for a fact my time frame because I was messaging my husband the entire time and can show my time stamped messages for proof if needed. I then take my food home, again I live not even 3 minutes away only to find my food was cold, I was missing the sausage links out of the one pancake meal, I was missing one of the strawberry syrups that was supposed to come with the meal as well. I attached the picture of what exactly I brought home. The eggs in the one meal were not over easy as you can also clearly see even with the top being on. I immediately called up there and asked to speak to a manager. They asked if I wanted to come back and have my food remade - I said no I would just like my money back at this point which she did and said it will be back on my card within 24-48 hours.

I was on my way home from setting up my daughter's apartment in Des Moines, Iowa over the weekend. My husband had reserved a room for me at the Hawthorne; Cracker Barrel was just across the parking lot. After checking into the hotel, I drove over to the restaurant. It is within walking distance, but it would be dark by the time I finished the meal and I didn't know the area to determine if I'd be safe walking back alone in the dark. The staff members very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere cozy and I didn't feel awkward dining alone. The food was perfect for a "starving" woman. Not too much. Not too heavy. Perfectly prepared. I chose the catfish, and, although I couldn't eat another bite (like I said the amount was just right) I was wishing I'd ordered a second piece just to continue to enjoy the flavor. I highly recommend the catfish. (I've had cravings for it since then.) Of course, the store portion of Cracker Barrel is the other half of the pleasure of dining there, so I did a little browsing and shopping before heading back to the hotel. The cashier did enough small-talk with me during my purchase that when we said good-bye I felt like I was saying good-bye to a cousin after a family reunion. Cracker Barrel is one of my favorite travel stops, and sitting in the rocking chairs on the "porch" afterwards is a nice way to "let the food settle" before heading to your next destination.

Worst cracker barrel we've ever been too bar none. Asked for the manager to show them the food that was brought to our table and what was wrong with it, they never came. So asked again when they came back to see if we needed refills (glasses had been empty 15 mins already) and when the manager finally came, I showed them how 4 of my chicken tenders were all fried together as one. And she looked at me like I was crazy for complaining about that and said it happens all the time. It's Monday at 1 pm they aren't even busy at all. Our food even came out 10 mins after we ordered but they're too busy to drop the chicken tenders in individually she says. Just continued to argue back and forth with me in front of the few tables near us until she finally said she'd take it off the bill. Just very rude. Server was so slow too. I'd give the location another try had the food been good but it was worse than the service. Especially their fry portions now are just so small. The fries in the picture are two full sides they say. Waste of money and time.

Tried to call because I I have never been able to order online, but always get an error message saying that there has been some type of technical difficulty. I wanted to try delivery. So when I called in I was sent over to customer service and I explained the issue to the gentleman that answered and I told him that I needed to speak to someone that can help me lift whatever restriction or fix whatever it is on my account keep me from ordering online and he said OK. He cold transferred me to the store. The girl that answered didn’t seem like she knew anything except for that’s not something that they can do. I asked her if there was a number I could call to get help with that and she told me I can call the same number I called where the gentleman transfer me to the store so I let her know that’s exactly what I had done already, but I was transferred to the store. She said she didn’t know why so, I asked if I could speak to the manager the manager. This manager should not be a manager. She by far is the worst. I believe her name is Missy or Misty. I’ve had other problems before with this location and tried to get assistance from her. Last time it was a store and cook error. Instead of an apology or an offer to correct the error she justified it as that they had a new cook and that’s probably why it was like that. This time, all she could do was give me the corporate number that would not be opened to Monday and this was Saturday. so, I’ll stop going to the only location that we have for Cracker Barrel because lately my orders have just been wrong. I guess the only time I get what I order is when I sit in. On a good note, I will say my food was excellent. My steak was exactly the way I asked for it to be, my eggs were exactly the way I asked and the biscuits were actually really soft and fresh. So, the cook did a great job! Correct management and Customer Service it would be a...

My family was coming back from a road trip, and stopped at this Cracker Barrel in Bloomington to have dinner. It was initially busy, and so we knew we may need to wait to be seated (total wait time: 15 min), which was okay. Within 5 minutes our server approached, took our drink order, and returned with drinks to take our food order, which wasn’t too large and consisted of 5 sides and a grilled cheese sandwich. We ended up waiting OVER AN HOUR for these items, and during that time were only visited once by our server when we flagged her down to inquire when our food would be served. Even when the busy dinner service calmed down about 30 minutes in, no one came by our table to check up on us, to let us know status of food, see if we needed refills, etc. We even made eye contact several times during the wait with our server, who did not stop by despite the fact she could see us sitting there. :(

After the food was brought to the table, we noticed that we had never received silverware, so we couldn’t even eat it! It took another almost 10 minutes to have utensils delivered to the table. My husband’s potatoes were ice cold and had clearly sat for a long period of time. Still……no drink refills despite asking for them. In total, we went almost 90 minutes to get our order (of mostly side dishes and grilled cheese- a pretty simple order to fill, I would think) and one drink each. We just wanted to get out of there and continue our drive home, so did not ask for management….otherwise (as a small business owner myself) I would have followed up to report the less than favorable customer experience we had.

There were also two other tables surrounding us who also had to wait for a comparable time to get their orders.

I was just surprised that we had such crappy service; we did not have this experience on the last two visits to other Cracker Barrels on...
