I'll just say we had an experience at this particular Culver's and I don't think we'll be going back, but not for reasons you might think, keep reading... We were driving home from Iowa where the Army called my husband to go work and luckily my service dog, Harvey, and I got to go with him. I saw a sign for Culver's and I was so happy because I was craving a big, juicy burger with some crinkle cut fries, and a mint shake. We're standing in line and my husband ordered and as I was ordering my dog got sick in the lobby area where the lines would normally form. Fortunately it was 3 or 4ish in the afternoon so they didn't have any lines and right after he had thrown up his water a couple and there small son came in behind us. My husband and I felt awful and as we were both making sure that Harvey was feeling better we saw that the majority of the staff were discussing who was going to clean up the dog vomit and at that time they were all engaging in the childhood game of whoever touches their nose last is it. At this time the boy that lost was complaining rather loudly as I said, "I'm so sorry, it's really not that big of a deal. Just give me some paper towels and I will clean it up myself." The boy handed me a whole roll of those brown paper towels, which my husband took from me and started wiping up my dogs water throw up, and I paid for our meal. The boy brings out a trash can and a bottle of cleaning spray of some kind and sets them both next to my husband. My husband is Army, and never complains, so he proceeds with cleaning floor. At this time we continued our dining experience like normal, where I would go find a seat out of the way to not disturb people eating since we have Harvey, as my husband goes to get our drinks and any condiments and napkins. As soon as I sat down a sweet older couple came up to me and said that they couldn't believe that they would make us clean up our dogs throw up, and continued to talk as they were petting Harvey. I never mind when people ask to pet him or even to ask questions about service dogs. I feel incredibly blessed to have him and I think he's so awesome that I want the whole world to know how truly amazing dogs can be. I just don't ever want us to be a distraction to a family going out to eat, but I never mind questions. After we get our food the couple with the small boy came over and said that they were so upset about the way the staff acted that they were actually talking about just going to go somewhere else. They said if they had to clean up after there son they wouldn't have done it and would have just walked out. They said that the staff admitted to the fact that they wouldn't of had a problem cleaning up after a kid throwing up, but the fact that it was dog vomit was where they drew the line. Poor Harvey always drinks when we stop and drank a little too fast, which he does sometimes. With no food, lots of water, and travel tummy you get water vomit. It's unfortunate for all involved, especially Harvey, but he definitely feels better once he gets rid of it all. I can't blame my dog for getting sick. He's an animal and he's never going to be responsible for his own actions. I am however 100% reasonable for him. That's what I agreed to when I decided to have a Service Dog. That's also what I agreed to when decided to have a child. That child is 100% my responsibility. If that child throws up I can only assume that it's because of something that I fed them or something I exposed it to. It's not the child's fault, and it's not the restaurant's fault. I am 100% reasonable for that dog and that child. So when they throw up I believe that it's my responsibility to clean it up myself. But if that establishment says don't worry about it, they'll clean it up, then Great, but I don't think you should expect it. Or if that establishment has certain guidelines on how to properly clean up after a throw up scenario then I applaud you, but that doesn't give me the right to get upset...
Read moreWent in on my lunch break. All I wanted was to try their new and improved chicken sandwich. That’s all I ordered. I stood waiting in the restaurant for at least 20 minutes. When I started to see others get their food that ordered after me I asked where my food was. The lady at the register disappeared and never gave me a response. I waited another 5 minutes and asked another employee. They were all clueless and had no idea where my order went. They finally found it on the register and rushed it to the kitchen. I got my sandwich and they gave me a free fry. I got to my truck to head back to work since I wasted my whole lunch hour waiting for a single sandwich. On my way back I bit into the sandwich and it was a spicy chicken sandwich. I did not order spicy. At this point I wasn’t going back. I tried calling the phone and got a message that the voicemail was full. 4 hours later I was finally able to speak to someone. They took my address and were supposed to send me coupons to refund my money. That was a month ago. Still no coupons. I also asked if they could fix voicemail. Lady stated only one person can do it and they weren’t there. This ranks right there with McDonald’s and their...
Read moreThis was BY FAR our worst Culver’s experience ever - and that is speaking for 5 people in our car. We stopped at around 7pm on Sunday, April 21; and after going through the drive through we became part of a 2x3 matrix of (6) cars blocking each other in and then a 7th car came through the drive through window and instead of starting a third line, they just parked in waiting behind us, preventing anyone else from arriving at the window to pay. The car in front of us got his food about 20 minutes before he was able to leave the parking lot because the cars in front of him and to the right of him were stuck waiting for their food.
The ice cream cone we ordered came out as ice cream soup in a dish. The fries weren’t cooked through to the middle, in other words, they were RAW. Two of the drinks we ordered never came, and instead of giving us the buffalo chicken strips we ordered, they gave us plain chicken strips.
Just disappointing. No communication about the wait and no apologies for the wait or chaos in the parking lot...
