Talk about highway robbery. I travel a ton. Last year I spent 48 weeks in hotels all across Midwest. This hotel was the worst I have ever stayed in. I had issues from the minute I walked in the door. Nasty is the easiest I can describe it. My wife has allergies and the dust in the room was horrible. Cobwebs in the window sill, smoke and musty smelling room. Tv wouldn’t work and lady at desk came to room, couldn’t get it to work so she left. It came on and since there was no phone in room, I went and told her and all she said was I know. She barely understands English and was hard to understand. I got back to room and TV was already off again not working. Tried to get on internet and it wouldn’t connect. Wife asked me to open window to try and air out room. Went to window and there was no lock. Just a little tab to keep it shut which one little tug window would open. No big deal if on upper floor but was in 1st floor right at the parking lot. Anybody could have gotten in. That was the final straw. Not only was room a dump but it was unsafe to stay in. Wife and I decided to check out and go to another hotel. A total of 30 minutes in room was enough. Told girl at front desk about problems and said I was checking out and going elsewhere. Her response was ok. Not one time was the Manager ever offered for help. She could have cared less. Never will use Wyndham properties again if this is the type of service I get....
Read moreI do not even know where to begin. Our room was dirty when we first arrived. Several places in the room were not cleaned at all, leaving what hopefully was dried food in various places around the room.
The television remote did not work unless you held it an inch from the sensor then just barely. The channel button did not work at all.
During the "peaceful" night, a high pitched whealing would come through the air every time anyone flushed a toilet in the hotel. Almost like a high pitched squeal about every thirty minutes, give or take.
Then, we tried falling back asleep around 9:00 in the morning due to not sleeping well the night before. That did not help since starting around 8:30am, housekeeping began banging on doors and slamming their carts around.
Then, we finally started dozing off when a loud rapping on the door filled the room. Housekeeping. Apparently the do not disturb sign is synonymous with "knock as loud as you can."
Over all, between the symphony of various high pitched squeals, housekeeping banging around, and a general disregard for "do not disturb," both my wife and I will be...
Read moreThis is a budget hotel, so don't expect frills. That said, it was a pretty reasonable experience. The room was clean, though still with a lingering odor from its past as a smoking room. There wasn't a closet, as you can tell in the picture, and no iron either. But it did come with a mini fridge and microwave, and a coffee maker with regular and decaf pouches. There's also an ice machine in the lobby. The free WiFi can get slow at times, though.
The free included breakfast was reasonable, with cereal, mini muffins, mini cinnamon rolls, a waffle maker and syrup dispenser, toaster with white and brown bread, and biscuits with a rather nice gravy, plus, of course, coffee. There's plenty of parking, but be aware that the building has no elevator. It's quite well situated, right on Rte 30, with an all-you-can-eat pizza place right next door, all the major fast food places right across the street along with a gas station, and a Walmart a quarter of a mile away.
This Super 8 suited my travel needs for this trip very well, and I saved a nice chunk over the...
