Boone Speedway — Local services in Boone

Typically have a blast at Boone Speedway. We are at the Speedway often for regular Saturday night racing and attend for things like Supernationals. Last nights' flagman was a stand in for the regular. He clearly needed someone to help hand him the flags. He dropped flags constantly and gave up on pulling a yellow caution flag very early in the night. I dont think he successfully pulled a single caution flag. Most upsetting was the announcers passing comment to someone in the audience about people who ride the "short bus" when calling the kids down for their bus ride on the track. He fails to take into consideration the kid(s) that have a disability that may be sitting in the stands upset because they can't take the bus ride with the other kids. Whether you're visiting or a local, the Boone Speedway is an amazing way to spend Saturday evenings in the summer. Affordable, family friendly fun for the whole family. Kids are free and students are only $5 for the grand stands. Concessions are available. They serve a variety of sandwiches, fries, nachos, fresh fruit and veggies, funnel cakes as well as fried oreos. Soda and beer also available. Our family loves to enjoy the races from the grandstands and after the races go down to the pits to mingle and talk with our favorite racers.
