Goodwill of Central Iowa — Local services in Boone

I really like shopping this store. Most days I don't have any issues. However today is a different story. I waited at the register, not a problem because I looked at other stuff, when the cashier showed up, there was no conversation from her. There was no, HI, How are you? She wrang me up, I paid, she turned to walk away. I looked at her, she walked back to where she was standing then asked if I wanted my items in a bag. She put my books in a bag and walked away. There was no, Thank you, Come again. Did you want your coffee pot in a bag also? NOTHING!!! She walked away so quickly I couldn't get her attention. It's experiences like this that keep people from shopping. Just like any one else, I don't HAVE to spend my money in that store. If customer service like that continues I will be happy to shop...

I've been stopping in here because I have been visiting Boone for personal reasons and I am really impressed. This store ties with the Ankeny location for cool clothing and dvds. My mom and I stopped in here about a week ago and were absolutely elated when we left. I found quite a load of cute tops, along with a handful of dvds and a book. The cashier was nice and polite to everyone. My mom is usually more well likes than myself but she treated us like equal which was refreshing. I spent almost eighty dollars but walked out with marginally more than I woukd most places particularly a mall shop. It's very clean and well organized too. Will probably be back...

I know the money people spend there goes to good causes.

But they help people in other ways. When my uncle died and I wanted to go to his funeral and I didn't have a pair of nice pants, I found some at Boone Goodwill. I was broke. I wanted to look nice and they had what I needed for a few bucks.

They gave me dignity. Pretty sure you cannot put a price...
