I requested the caldo de rez($20 which I thought was a bit pricier and saw it was about $6 more than the pozole and menudo so I figured it must be really good) and birria tacos(with the cheese on the side as I’m lactose intolerant but others were gonna try a few bites). The caldo bowl(less than 2/3 of a cereal bowl) was definitely smaller than other restaurants but I didn’t let that deter me because I know other restaurants can give too much broth. But when I opened it, IT WAS ALMOST ALL BROTH!!! There was 2 two inch pieces of corn and two chunks of meat(one was a big bone with the meat you can’t get off and the other was all ligaments. There was NO cabbage, carrots, onions, squash, zucchini, or potato’s. Just a side of cilantro and onions. Only thing edible was the 4inches of corn. They followed instructions to put the cheese on the side. They bowled it up with the same type of bowl and lid used for the consome. But they put the cheese bowl on top of the consome and shut the box on it causing it to push on the consome lid which caused to lid to melt into the soup and making consome get the bottom tortillas(they make the tacos flat with the meat between two separated tortillas like a quesadilla). Soup could not be eaten because of the melted plastic and only the top half of the “tacos” were edible(which they were very good but dry because of the poor packaging). They said I could bring it in for a refund but I was tight on time and wasn’t able too. I’m so shocked at the high stars they have. That...
Read moreThere's finally an authentic Mexican restaurant in Brooklyn Center. There are two doors on the left for entry and two doors on the right to exit. The customer service here is extremely pleasant. My husband ordered the shredded pork burrito that came with in-house made tortilla chips. No salsa for the chips, but they do give you a small container of red and green sauce for your burrito. I ordered the shredded pork torta that came with a roasted jalapeño, a small amount of fries, and the same two sauces. The burrito and torta were great to my husband. They actually got him full. I don't like a lot of fatty pieces in/on my meat, so while it was tasty, I think I'll stick with the chicken or steak. While the fries have a great seasoning on them, they do need to be cooked a little longer so they're not so soft by the time you get home. We also ordered their horchatas, which was served without ice, and it was very sweet but still ok. The red sauce is just spicy with no flavor. I actually had to mix the two sauces to taste them, so that's what I suggest you do too if you really want to taste the sauce. A worker (maybe the owner) stated they're having their grand opening this Friday (8-25-2023) at 11:30 A.M.. He stated they mayor should...
Read moreSo I ordered food from this place last night via doordash, not expecting anything spectacular ( especially since it was almost 1:00 a.m.) but boyyyyy was i wrong. From the very first bite of food, I was in literal heaven. I got carne asada tacos which were super flavorful and cooked to perfection. I also got a quesadilla with shredded beef which came with rice and beans. I mean it when I say the rice was the most flavorful Mexican rice I've ever had and in the best way. The quesadilla with a shredded beef was a game changer for me, because typically at Mexican restaurants I usually only get the cheese quesadilla. The shredded beef was flavorful, tender, and paired perfectly with the cheese. Beans were also chef's kiss. Needless to say, this is my new Mexican joint and I am talking myself out of ordering it again tonight 😆 I am sad I didnt take photos but I basically inhaled the...
