On august 24th I was visiting the beach at Harrahs Laughlin with my cousins and brother (4 hotel guests total). I have three rooms with the property while we celebrate my fathers 70th birthday. We arrived yesterday and had made our way to the beach around 2pm. Upon getting to the beach area the attendant (young male blond hair) rudely and aggressively demands that no one can walk into the beach area with an open beer. That is understandable and I have no problem complying with rules, however right off the bat it’s wasn’t appropriate the way he spoke to us as hotel guest. There is way of being tactful and still enforcing rules. The actual issue occurred while on the beach watching other patrons. Specifically, a group of younger adults who clearly had much too much to drink, disruptive behavior is putting it light in regard to how wasted one individual was. Throwing empty beer bottles in river water, leaving trash on the beach and acting a mess. This woman was so intoxicated she was physically unable to walk from the beach to the sidewalk. It became very evident that one of the group members was an employee of the hotel. A man with longer dark hair slightly wavey, who we came to know as “Randy”. He is the reason this group was allowed on to the beach (which is an amenity for hotel guests). At this point it was clearly a safety issue, the woman could not walk or stand without assistance yet continued to roll from the sand into the water with no hotel staff members interfering. The individual was fully dressed in pants and shoes and long sleeve shirt covered in sand from being wet and falling clearly a sore thumb sticking out to anyone that walks by. I went back up to the beach attendant explained what was going on and I asked the two men in the beach hut to call for security to address the behavior. To my surprise not only did security never show up, but not a single staff member went to check on this woman or talk to the group. They watched from afar and laughed with each other without confronting the guest ( who was still drinking beer at this point). I then heard a staff member an older white gentleman in a turquoise polo uniform (different and older than the two beach attendants I originally spoke with) speaking to the beach attendant boys about the guests that complained (me) and stated “those guests are just pissed off complaining since they couldn’t bring in there beer because they can’t afford buying beers at the beach bar). It was such an insulting statement to make which clearly shows the staff has zero regard for the paying hotel guests here looking to enjoy a vacation and spend money at the hotel. I have no issue spending money on my family vacation; we had spent over 200$ on grossly inflated beer costs as it was but the problem was the safety for this woman and the staffs ability to ignore it even when it had been brought to their attention. The attitude and comments by staff were most troubling. After asking for security, I waited and watched as no one arrived, except the two bartenders and pool attendants all of whom never actually spoke to the lady but “Randy” did appear to walk up to the beach bar and hang out behind the bar shack in an employee looking area just chatting it up with staff and friends. I think it is beyond necessary that the hotel investigate the matter further with video camera footage as well as in formally speaking with all of the beach staff members working 8/24/25 2pm-6pm. |The situation itself was troubling, but that most unacceptable part is this lack of action by employees who all were okay looking the other way to protect a friend/ co-worker. I have been coming to Laughlin over 30 years and have never felt so disrespected and unvalued. We had a teenager jump down our throat over a beer and yet actively ignored a grossly over intoxicated woman because she was a staff...
Read moreWe arrived via charter flight for a 5 day / 4 night trip around 11 pm PST (2 AM my normal local time) on a Saturday night. It was a 3 hour wait for luggage or we could find it ourselves. After getting in our room and looking around; here's the observation on the first room in Central Tower. It was run down and very outdated. The view was Easterly with the sunrise over the Black Mountains, the Colorado River, and Bullhead City, Arizona. It was a pretty view but the room that was supposed to be a king size bed ended up being 2 doubles and the bathroom had what looked like a 90s mobile home tub/shower combo with minimal bathroom linens (2 towels, 2 washcloths, 2 hand towels, 1 rug). It just looked old and run down. The ice machine for the floor was missing. On day 2 the television went out. Called down stairs but was unable to reach anyone at the front desk. Had to go down and inform them about the TV which they said they would send somebody. We went back upstairs, got ready for dinner and when no one had came we called down stairs. Again, no answer. Stopped by the front desk and the 5 people at the counter (one was helping someone) let us stand there and wait while they finished their conversation. Finally they told us it would be fixed by the time we got back from dinner at The Range. When we got back...still no TV and my husband has to have it to sleep. So he called back down stairs, I was already in the bed, and suprise! After being on hold for 20 minutes...someone actually answered. The resolution? Room swap at 9:00 pm. So up and repacking and moving to the South Tower. This floor had an ice machine that didn't work and sounded like it was pouring water inside of it. I kept waiting on the floor to flood. This room was better in appearance, the view was Northernly with the side of the hotel and a small piece of the river, it still had double beds. And while we understand they were in the middle of an exteme heat advisory (90ish around sunrise and 110-115 during the afternoon) the air condition was barely keeping up on night two, was worse on night three and went out all together on night 4, which luckily, was our last night. Then the alarm speaker started cackling and buzzing about 1 AM. We had to be up at 3:00 AM to get everything ready for luggage pick up at 4:00 AM. Called down stairs to the front desk and couldn't get an answer again. Kept calling until we finally got someone and they said they were working on it. Then it got worse and someone actually started talking on it. It finally stopped about 3:30 AM. Luggage pickup didn't happen until after 5:00 AM. We were supposed to leave at 5:15 AM to shuttle back to the airport for our 7:25 AM PST flight departure with our 4:00 PM EST flight arrival in Columbia, SC . We finally left the hotel at approximately 7:00 AM to start our journey Atleast there was time to get coffee after Starbucks opened at 6:00 AM while we waited. Apparently, the scheduled shuttle drivers didn't show up and they had to call someone in on their day off to drive the shuttle back and forth. The casino was better than the hotel portion which is why they're not getting a one star review. Frigid cold, I had to buy sweats to be downstairs and play but the roulette table operators were friendly, the servers were friendly and fast, and the drinks were good. This location is not walkable at all though. You need to take the shuttle, the water taxi, a regular taxi or an Uber to go anywhere other than Harrahs. When you factor in the condition of the rooms, the attitudes and difficulties of dealing with front desk staff, the loss of 2 days for travel time with only 3 days on sight...we will probably not return to this location as it did not meet Harrahs/Caesars standards set by their...
Read moreThis review is for my first Caesars rewards charter to Laughlin from Seattle. I booked a central king room and was a little nervous after reading the reviews, but all went above and beyond my expectations. Firstly, they have the charter service extremely dialed in for convenience. I was extremely impressed. I checked a bag for free in Seattle, and never touched it again until I found it waiting for me in my room when I was done gambling that evening. The shuttle driver was informative and pleasant. When the bus arrived, we got off and there was a gentleman handing out bottles of water and name-labeled envelopes with the map grounds, a players card, and a key to the room in which we were already checked in. No check-in lines? Count me in for that! I triple read the paperwork before getting in the elevator, because I couldn’t believe it was that streamlined. I was expecting a non-river room, but was surprised to find a gorgeous view of the landscape and river awaiting me. I gave it a quick look over after reading reviews to see if it had any issues. It’s true that there were only 2 small pillows on the king sized bed, but for me that was a non issue. I did find some hairs in the tub, a left behind toothbrush, and some floor crumbs. I do think they could definitely tighten up their cleaning game, as it is mentioned repetitively, and even as clean as my room was, some things had been missed. The outer window to the river was overdue a wash as well. I feel as though just a little more attention to detail would make a huge difference in reviews. I might have gotten lucky or had set my expectations low enough that I was truthfully ecstatic. Aside from those small missteps, the bed was comfortable and clean, the water pressure was good, no drainage or AC issues as others have experienced. In the central tower river-view room I had a coffee maker, refrigerator, hair dryer, USB ports on the lamps, bath gel, a shampoo conditioner combo, a decent amount of towels. I actually never called housekeeping to restock anything during my 4 day stay. The ice machine worked and so did the vending machine. I was there over a weekend and didn’t have problems with the elevators in the Central tower. I was slightly disappointed to find that Harrah’s doesn’t have many older slots. I’m a bit of a nostalgic player and don’t gravitate toward the newer machines much. Many people would feel the opposite. Drink service was flowing nicely, but then again, I tip $2-3 per drink. I noticed plenty of $10 tables on a Friday night, which was a pleasant surprise. I had no luck on the slots the entire time, but such is gambling more often than not. They are a bit away from other casinos, but the free shuttle to the Trop was nice. I never utilized the pools, beach, or water taxis. Harrah’s doesn’t have a big selection of restaurants, but I went casual and had a sub at Pin Up, Birria Tacos from Guy’s (room service which came quickly and efficiently), and breakfast at the Beach Cafe. I thought the food was fairly priced. If I hadn’t been alone, I would have given the steakhouse a shot. I had to work some of the trip, so being allowed WiFi for 2 devices for free, I chose my laptop and tablet. My phone was slow at times without WiFi. Overall, I was super happy and actually booked another trip before I had even left. I’m going to be visiting again in 4 days and I hope I have a similar experience. I was 10th floor Central tower, King river-view and I have my fingers crossed I’ll be seeing that view again. It’s possible coming from a free charter trip my expectations and experience could be different than others, but this was a solid 4-5 stars for me. See you in a few...
