I went out with a coworker of mines to have a good time out. She suggested we go here because she had passed by it before and thought it would be nice. We arrived around 8. The front desk workers greeted us and told us there would be a 30-60 minute wait. We agreed and decided to sit down and dine. There was a tiny sign that said to wait to be seated by a host but no one was standing at the desk so we asked one of the workers if we could sit down ourselves and she replied no someone will seat us. A worker at the front desk comes rushing over and seats us. We sat comfortably waiting for a waiter or waitress. A waitress appeared a couple minutes later and was very pleasant but came around every 10 or so minutes even though there were several other waiters and the restaurant was slow. Not that we were in a rush, we had a long wait for the food which was only the Mac and cheese fried balls thing. We enjoyed it very much, and we also ordered desert which also took some time to receive . Our buzzer rang which they give you when you are put on a waiting list, and we jumped up looking for our waitress so we could pay. Not finding her, and not wanting to lose our spot since we've waited an hour, we decided to see if we could pay at the front desk or something. The waitress comes out of nowhere and says we need to pay for the food, and we explained to her we couldnt find her to ask for the check so we were going to see if we could pay at the front desk. She said she'd get our check and rushed to get it and bring it to us. We paid and went to the front desk, waiting for the workers to finish helping the group of people before us. They greeted us once more, took back the buzzer when they realized that the lane we were up next for, the people already there decided to play another round. There was a young lady who was working up front that apologized and said that there would be another 20 minute wait. She said she felt bad for us, so she would cover our bill and that she waiting for this lane to hopefully open up in 5 minutes and be cleaned. We said thank you for her offer and she gave us back the buzzer and we went to sit down once more. We were given the offer to play shuffle board while we wait but decided not to play and just wait. 9:20ish-9:40 rolls around and our buzzer goes off. We go back to the counter and they hand us the bowling shoes and directed us towards the vip room. We were so excited, and thought it was well worth the wait. We ordered two virgin pina colodas, one for each of us and we bowled 3 games. 10:48 rolled around and we decided to leave. We brought back the shoes and the young lady who paid for our bill smiled and said we were all set, or so we thought. I had to use the restroom before we leave, and when we came back out, a security guard was waiting for us at the front door. He blocked our exit and demanded to know why were we planning to take off without paying for our drinks. Confused, we told the man that that one of the workers said she would cover our bill and we were all set to go. He asked which employee and we turned around to look at the front desk. We pointed at the girl who proceeds to hide behind the counter. I handed the man my debit card and as we walked up to the counter, we could see the girl cowering behind the desk doing something. The man walks right past her, and charges my card. We then left unhappy with the rude customer service ending our night. Paying the bills was no problem for us. We would've gladly pay for the bill for our drinks if we were told about it. The wait was ridiculous and we still waited patiently and politely. The fact he didn't ask her about the offer to cover the bill or try to understand or fix the situation has left me with a huge disappointment. The food was great, don't get me wrong, and it has such a nice atmosphere but the workers we had an encounter with were rude and very unconcerned with what you had to say. I wouldn't...

We had booked a party for a friend's birthday. We needed to see the venue before booking anything. So, went in person and liked the place. We went up to see the private room with a bowling alley and the party coordinator met us there. I do not want to name the person here, for all the mistakes that was created after this. We stood in the private room and informed the coordinator that we wanted to book that room. We asked questions like what comes with the package and how long and what do we do if we wanted to stay a little beyond the party time slot. We were told that we will be moved to a table outside and we could finish our party there outside of the private room. After that, emails were exchanged. Confirming the date, number of people, food choices, under which 3 appetizers were chosen. I wanted to add an extra wings to the party but, did not want my vegetarian friends to pay for it. So, the coordinator suggested to wait till the party date and order it from menu rather than adding it to the party package. All done. Paid in full before the party took place. Fast forward to the date of the party. We arrived much before the time and to our shock, were told the private room is not what was booked for us and there is another thing going on there which was booked in January. We were given lanes outside in the general area and the manager showed us our order form which mentioned a Strike package. As a customer, I do not need to know which package is called what, is what I told the manager. Since I physically stood in the private room and mentioned it to the coordinator that this is where we need the party, I just assumed that is exactly what had to happen. You know, since that is the job. The manager just apologized that there was miscommunication and said the party place was more expensive than what we chose. We were offended by that. It should be left to the customers to decide whether we can afford something or not and not any employee. I believe that is not what she intended to say, but it came out wrong at that moment. However, we did not want to waste our time arguing over their messes and spoil our friend's birthday and so went ahead with the open lanes. The ONLY BEST thing from the whole event was our waiter. He was very courteous and very highly skilled for the job he was hired. A perfect host. Atleast some people are definitely well trained. The manager did not come back and check on us after the staff messed up, but another lady with long black hair did show the courtesy. Kudos to her for treating customers with respect. She offered us desserts on the house and extended our time. Not that we needed it, but the gesture is highly appreciated. Thank you. As we left there with not so good memories, the next day I see a credit card charge of $43. I tipped $100 for the wonderful gentleman who serviced our tables. Surprised, I called back the next day and a different manager called me back later to clarify. Apparently the party coordinator went ahead and billed me for the wings that they themselves suggested not to add and without my permission (the emails clarify it all) went ahead and billed for that. So, they just instead charged the balance from the overpayment to the tip. Returning the money is not the only thing here, it shows the super lack of management and training. The 2nd manager did offer us a consolation offer and I appreciate that gesture too. But, you folks ruined my friend's birthday and that was really really bad. And no, just saying 'Sorry, for the miscommunication that happened' is not going to undo the damage. Maybe it was just our misfortune that happened and others had lovely memories there. Nonetheless, if it was going to an open lane in a bowling alley, there are many around, and we didn't have to drive 1 hr to King's for that! Bottom line, the...
Read moreThis place has so much potential but fails miserably. My family and I decided to check it out on Father's day since the bad weather interfered with our plans for a picnic. We started out playing games in the arcade while waiting for a pool table to become available. On the second arcade game the game shutdown with an error message. I had to scramble to identify someone who could fix the machine. Much to my surprise, they were able to revive the arcade game in relatively short order. We eventually got notice of a pool table available and, when we got to it, the cocktail table right next to us was piled with dirty dishes and platters of left over food. Expecting that someone would come by soon to clean up the mess, my family and I started to play pool. After two games of pool my daughter couldn't take it anymore and asked a hostess if someone could clear the dirty dishes. The hostess told my 14 year old daughter to ask the server to clean it up. Seriously! This establishment asked a paying customer to scrounge around the building looking for a non-existent server. I initially tried ignoring the mess in the spirit of keeping Father's day a memorable occassion. Unfortunately, it has become memorable for all the wrong reasons. I was getting hungry and thirsty but that subsided every time I saw the dirty dishes. Finally, I left the pool area and walked past an unattended bar and found the lounge in the back. After, scanning the lounge for a minute I finally found someone that looked like they may actually be an employee. I explained that the pool area is littered with dirty dishes and the person I spoke with said they would get somone to clean up. I went back to the pool area and was about 10 minutes into a new game when all of the sudden a real live person appeared and started clearing tables one dish at a time. I mean one dish at a time. They didn't have a tray to clear the whole table at once. They picked up what they could carry by hand and had to make repeated trips. My family and I were getting a little hangry at this point and decided to leave. It's too bad. We were really enjoying our time together and what could have been a memorable Father's day at Kings turned out to be a much more enjoyable and memorable day at Coldstone...
