I was actually very disappointed with this place. The rooms were great in terms of space (king suite) but were plagued in function. The water system was horrible. When in the shower, if anyone else turned on a sink or used a toilet in the building, the water would immediately turn to either fire or ice (never knew which would happen) and take a whole to get back to normal. There aren't any supplies in the kitchenette. No plates or silverware. Fridge not the advertised size. Coffee in the room was horrible, tasted like burned water. There were a few water cups but only held a sip or two of water at a time. The beds were quite uncomfortable. Felt like the mattresses was 30 years old and woke up in horrible pain. The Murphy bed also has long bolts sticking our that caught our legs whenever it was down. The TV cabinets didn't stay open so the TVs were useless unless you tied or held them back with someone you had to MacGyver together. The staff was also incredible rude. The restaurant was a joke. Food was okay at best. After we got a table, no one came around for 45 minutes. Not even for water. 3 staff walked by, one motioned to us and said we needed help and I saw and heard one dismiss us with a wave of the hand and said loud enough for me to hear, they aren't a priority table, and they all walked off. Overall. We were there for 2.5 hours, guy came out twice. Once after 45 minutes and we got water and our order in, an hour later I had to hunt them down to ask about our food, and they came out one more. I bussed to table and I had to search them out and pay with someone else. It wasn't even that they were busy. Half the place was empty. And breakfast wasn't much better. Food was okay, but not great. And the staff was rude at best. The grounds were nice and well kept, even with the busy first weekend of their Christmas market. I will say that all of the maintenance staff were exceptional. Antonio was very friendly and efficient. He alone earned this place the extra star. Overall, I would avoid this place until they get better staff or are retrained. The water and power systems also need a major upgradejust to make it bearable. Except for Antonio. Promote him and get him to train...

Me and my husband were fortunate to spend 3 nights at this beautiful hotel. We selected the King Deluxe room with the hot tub and it was very nice. The room was spacious and located right near the walking gardens close to the restaurant. Our bathroom even had a separate bidet, which was an unusual surprise!| We did notice that the room was dark, and lighting inside was dim, except for in the bathroom. Also, the room could of used a deep clean, as we noticed cobwebs in the ceiling area and some small spiders inside the room. The furniture was also in need of replacement, it was clean but squeaked when we sat on it. I would recommend asking for one of the newer rooms in the (900's) that are more updated. The fireplace is gas that is operated by the thermostat. This prevented us from setting a comfortable temperature and ultimately the room got very warm. Since the pilot light is always on it gave off heat even when not in use. Would of also liked to have a more user friendly tv options. Trying to find specific channels was challenging. The guide does not list stations like other streaming services. Would be nice to have a printed list in the room, rather than scrolling for 10 minutes to find a ball game or show.| We did enjoy the bar area (music was amazing) and the breakfast buffet. Wish there was more fresh fruit selections and that the muffins were fresher. We also opted for the dinner special with the wine for one of our dinners while staying in Cambria. The food was absolutely delicious and our server (Carlos) was amazing. We were able to be seated in one of the Kiva's and truly enjoyed the ambiance of this romantic setting. |All employees were very professional and helpful. The grounds and building were very clean and the landscaping impeccable. We could always find parking and most of the time it was right next to our room.|Overall, we are very happy that our first trip to Cambria was enhanced with staying at this lodge. There were no hidden fees for "extras" or parking like most places and felt it was a great value. We have already talked about making another visit next year, but may ask for a different...

So, I'm very disappointed in this establishment. I wanted to love it so badly because I love this entire coastal community. However, this was the most challenging accommodation I've had to date in travels. From start to finish, a complete disappointment.

Let's talk about the pre-registration process. Very easy, you can complete it on the phone, received a message encouraging you to pre-register because it's time efficient and makes checkin easier. Very good, I'm here for that. An agreed, it was definitely worked out perfectly. A great process. Unfortunately, that was the best part of this stay.

Ugggh, the room. The room was dirty from the literal ceiling to the gritty floors and worn. Hair stuck on walls, drink stains, food particles strewn throughout - by the bed, in the living room, by the window, we had broken furniture, almost white towels, and bugs, bugs, bugs. Just everything you don't want to see in a stay; shocking actually to see this room presented for use. I did notify them. They were very communitive, offered another room, and apologetic. But, this was a special weekend for us, and it was tainted at this point. We made the best out of it, of course, because it's still a beautiful place to visit and explore. Unfortunately, on our final morning, they started some type of construction AT 7AM right outside our window, so that was jarring, but on par with the way the whole stay went. So, I definitely can not recommend this place based on this experience. Also note, it's near the coast, not on the coast. So, if you want an ocean view, this place is not going to fulfill that desire. It's far up on the wooded side and about a 10 min drive to an ocean view.

There's a bar and restaurant on site, so that would appeal to some. For me, it was just average. But, there's only a couple of places here that are decent anyway, so that's not surprising. Take the drive to Morro Bay for food, it's worth it.

Lastly, there are charging stations, but one was broken during our stay, so we were on the constant lookout for the...

I had to spend most of the day in the car but then we finally made it to our destination! We stayed at the Cambria Pines Lodge because they have dog friendly rooms. We stayed in a deluxe king and had plenty of space. Having a ground level outdoor space made this ideal for dogs! Set your expectations lower and then you will be fine. First night 1 star I booked a King Large suite. Which was Dingy and Dated (Hotel staff tried to use the word rustic), but the website would lead you to believe that they are all updated modern rooms with an actual rustic vibe. When I complained to Staff the first Night they were all booked up so they only offered a "welp sorry try again tomorrow" (PS no management on site on a busy weekend, very convenient). Then to add insult to injury, the unit above us was a late check in. They were slamming doors and drawers from 10:30 to 11:30. Stomping around the whole time (Lucky my 3 yr old was so tired they slept through it all). It was 2 am before it finally ended (If people are late check ins they should not be given second floor units). Second day, Staff told me none the rooms on site have been updated within the last few years except the Two Queen Deluxe Suites (which is smaller and cheaper room than I booked, but didn't offer a discount to move). We intentional booked the King Large Suite, so we had room to spread out. We eventually came to an agreement that they would let us move to the King Deluxe Suite w/tub (Which at first they tried to make it super inconvenient by making us check out by 11am and then back in at 3pm, leave us no place to let my toddler nap). Again details were eventually hammered out (everything was a fight) but as soon as we walked in to the new room, we could clear tell it had been upgraded more recently than the mess they gave us for the first night. Second night room was 4 Stars (Only real upgrading needed, is the couch could use an upholstery update). Night 2 save our vacation, for the room alone and nothing else. As guest in a Hotel/Lodge you would hope that you get a little empathy and understanding, not push back a dismissiveness. The only reason I may come back to this Hotel /Lodge is for that King Deluxe Suite w/Tub room...
